Wow! I was craving avocado toast and a good Americano - I am so happy with found this place! It was a bit hidden away but worth the walk. The coffee was so good I needed a takeaway, too, but the star if my breakfast was the avocado toast. It usually comes with an egg, but the server happily replaced it with tomatoes. It looks gorgeous but tasted even better.

I enjoyed a delicious salmon avocado sandwich and a delightful cappuccino! I ended up trying the chai latte and came back for more! The best place to go for coffee in Lisbon!

Warm chai latte hit the spot. Cozy vibe, nice staff. Great place to do some work and sip on a beverage!

Excellent cappuccinos and spacious cozy interior. I got my coffee with oat milk and enjoyed it. Also got a salmon sandwich served on their house rye bread which was healthy and hearty.

Without a doubt the most US-like coffee I've had while in Lisbon. The overall vibe of this cafe is super; there was also a community feel to it which was from the friendliness of the lady at the counter and the fact that she seemed to know half of the people coming into the cafe. I love that sort of local vibe. I immediately wanted to pop a seat and hang out for a while. And, I did. Fortunately, it wasn't very busy and I didn't feel too guilty for lingering for several hours using the WiFi. The WiFi is free, but I did make an effort to buy two coffees and a food item. Seems only fair considering I'm taking up space and using the WiFi. :) The iced latte I had was lovely. Just enough espresso and the fresh milk that's used to make it really added flavor to the drink overall. The treat I had as a Brazilian muffin with some sort of candied-like fruit pieces in it. It tasted like cornbread and fruit cake had a small, less sweetened baby. It was good, but dry. The carrot cake looks bomb, but too sweet for me. Without a doubt, if back in Lisbon, I will come here again. I highly recommend it.

The avocado toast lacked a little bit of flavor like maybe more lemon and salt but was overall Good. Don't go here expecting vanilla or caramel flavored coffees bc they don't have that. The closest thing to an iced vanilla latte was their iced chai and it was surprisingly yummy and I'm not a fan of chai. Overall it was a good drink but not a big variety.

Neat little modern coffee place next to the National Pantheon. There's a cool windowsill seating area that's almost like a love couch. Serves lemon water and free WiFi! I ordered the coffee mocha with some pretty milk foam art and chocolate croissant. Tasted awesome! They staff speaks English and is nice.

My son, who loves coffee, is estatic that we found this place on our exploratory walk in Alfama. We have been here for 3 days and he's not had any good coffee - only espresso. Discovered this place and decided to give it a try. Coffee was perfect. We did not try the food. Had free WiFi.

My €4 coffee! By far the most "American" smelling cup in all of Portugal
    Kevin Z.

While a bit pricey, this place a huge find for me (an American coffee lover) that was looking for something that wasn't an espresso. The Coffee Lab was it! While the coffee prices were a bit steep the coffee was expertly brewed and comes with milk or cream should you ask! The coffee was excellent and I will definitely be making the 1/4 mile hike each day of my stay to get my morning caffeine fix!

This place has been open since monks were selling pasteis de nata in the early 1800s to make ends meet, and the secret recipe is apparently locked up and only known to a few people. Enough legends surround this place to make it packed with people every hour that it's open. It's so shrouded, in fact, that the egg tarts here are called Pasteis de Belem - not even the Pasteis de Nata used across the rest of Portugal. What really surprised me at first was how large the dining room was inside. When waiting in line, it doesn't feel particularly large, but once you get in you're greeted with a cavernous set of rooms with hundreds of mini tables throughout. Since we were here for lunch, along with the obvious Pasteis de Belem orders, I also got an Iberian Ham sandwich, pasteis de bacalhau, and a spinach quiche. The main part of this is going to be focused on the pasteis de belem, since that's what everyone is here for. I'm happy to say the 200 year old recipe still hits. These are amazing. The first thing you notice is the perfect dark brown spots on the top, indicating a top-tier bake. But when you take your first bite is when you're met with that feeling that - yes, this was in fact worth it. The outside of the pastry is perfect - bursting with flaky layers and a crispiness that has to be heard to be believed. The edges rise slightly over the top just to provide that extra crunch that's irresistible. The inside is just as spectacular. It's creamy, eggy, soft, but avoids being too sweet. One way I can think of describing it is like a soft cheesecake without the sourness. It would be tough not to go to rehab for getting addicted to how good this is. The top stays just a bit harder than the inside which is practically butter in terms of its texture. I could talk about this for another few paragraphs, but the best way to show how I felt is that we ordered another box of six to take home afterwards. The rest of the food was interesting. The Iberian ham sandwich was actually very good, with well-toasted bread, good quality pork, and a ton of perfectly melted cheese. The pasteis de bacalhau and quiche were pretty disappointing, though. For being as famous as is it, this place is remarkably cheap. Each pasteis de belem is only 1.6 euros, and a packet of 6 is less than 10. The rest of the food is crazy cheap as well; with the sandwich, which comes in a massive portion, being under 5 euros. Overall, it doesn't matter how long the wait is, you need to get the pasteis de belem here. It deserves it's iconic status. 9.5/10

This is the birthplace of the delicacy Portuguese custard tart (pasteis de nata). While you can…read morefind find these tarts all over Portugal, this is a must try when you visit The exterior is slightly modest, but is also absolutely gorgeous. It's well-lit, and something about it beacons you over. Maybe it's the line stretched out the door. The interior has beautiful blue and white tiles. The staff are all busy preparing tarts, helping customers, etc. I don't know why, but it feels like a shop right out of Harry Potter with the colors and almost antique beauty. The staff are dressed in dapper uniforms. Each person has an air of serious, yet charming, and sophisticated. For a place that pretty much has the same routine all day and services thousands of Hungary and demanding tourists, the staff were friendly enough, and very efficient The packaging was gorgeous. Again, it reminded me of a delicacy or to-go parcel you might get in the wizarding world. The tarts were delicious. I tried several egg/custard tarts in Portugal, and this is one of the best. While at least one of location in Sintra has my #1 pasteis de nata, this one is probably a close second You can order a variety of sizes/amounts, and the carry fairly well. There are also other treats like cakes, hot chocolate, etc Some tips: They have cinnamon and sugar you can put on top of your tart if you want to add to the flavor You B don't have to takeaway, and in fact it might be quicker service if you walk past the initial line and counter and head into the restaurant where you might be able to snag a table and eat your tarts on site Located near a couple incredible Lisbon landmarks you will want plenty of time to stroll around Belém and see the sites. It's a vibe, and a must do in Lisbon Cheers!!

We ate a few blocks away, but before leaving the area, we returned for dessert to try this cake. The cool coffee shop was very airy and green, with lots of seating, both indoors and out. It wasn't busy when we were there, so I ordered a slice to share with my two littles, who devoured it! I guess I should have ordered two! It was light and airy, with a smooth, rich brownie bottom layer. The cake was flavorful and light, in the best way. I could have lingered longer here with a coffee as well, but with two antsy littles in tow, I wouldn't have enjoyed my coffee much, but the cake hit the spot.
