We loved this place so much, we came here a few different times for breakfast... and I usually don't like to eat at the same place twice whilst on vacation . My favourite food item in Portugal became the pastel de nata and it was perfect here! Flaky, soft, and just the right amount of sweet! One of the times for lunch we ordered the chicken sandwich, and something you think would be so simple at a little cafe ended up being surprisingly delicious! They used great bread and a sweet mustard aioli-type of dressing that took the sandwich to the next level. Yum! The coffee was also excellent- the only downfall is they seem to only have one option available per day. I may have misunderstood due to the language barrier, though. Despite the fact that the espresso and coffee is double the price of other cafes just down the street, the reviews made it seem worthwhile. The avocado toast was plain and flavorless. It was bread avocado and an egg (too well done as well). While they made it look nice I was immediately filled with regret the second our food arrived. It was the most lackluster avocado toast I have ever eaten. I don't care if the food looks pretty if it doesn't taste any good. The food is overpriced. Favorite local coffee shop in Lisbon hands down. Love the ambiance, tons of space for a good amount of people, they accommodate everyone from the working person, to the couple on a date, to a larger group just coming through on a tour. Love that about them, since most coffee shops that bother to roast their own beans are not accommodating. On to the espresso. Just delicious. Perfectly roasted, perfectly poured and even included latte art on top. The interior is really rustic, wooden, and cozy. Fabrica looks small from the outside but is actually pretty spacious and wraps around to the back behind the roasting area inside. The staff is at the minimum bilingual which is nice if you speak another language. They speak some Portuguese, English and Russian from what I saw. Expect to pay for that though-the prices here are on par with most western European countries. A bit expensive for Lisbon, but the ambiance, quality of the beans and top notch service, you will soon get over it. If you are hungry they have some snack items you can purchase, I had a homemade croissant which was really nice. They have fresh fruit in water pitchers scattered around the place, probably the best free water I have ever had. They stocked it with fresh strawberries, blueberries, orange slices and man is that water delicious. Almost as delicious as the coffee. Overall, a must stop in Lisbon if you love coffee and want a cool place to hangout. read more

It is on the famous street for restaurants in Lisboa and is a cool more coffee-centric place than you typically find in Portugal. They even have take away coffee so you can support a local place with good coffee instead of the bullshit Starbucks not far away. They even have soy milk and the limited food options that they did have were great. Why you ask didn't I give them five stars? Well, it's the location. It's on a nice small street, but it's right next to a number of construction sites. Outside seating at night might be nice if the construction has stopped otherwise you're inside with the nine tables that they have. Oh yeah, they also don't have wifi because they want people to talk to each other and enjoy the coffee which I like but if you're trying to use it as a plan your day type place it's not possible. Fàbrica is the ultimate hipster hang-out, but when I was there the clientele consisted almost solely of tourists. I do not know if this is the usual deal, I hope not for their sake - because it seems like they've worked hard on creating the ultimate hipster setting. The menu offers coffee in many varieties (including "cold brewed"!), and you can chose between three varieties of beans. In spite of the possibilities, I went for my usual cappuccino (with "reko" Ethiopian beans); and it was delicious! I also had a tuna sandwich with quail eggs and lemon sauce - tasty, and a good portion for a reasonable price. I finished up with a fresh pressed orange juice while working on the computer and watching the street life. Nice place for groups or singles, leisure or work. And yeah, it seems like they've closed down their WiFi, now having signs on the walls saying "No WiFi - drink coffee". read more
