AmaaaZing chocolate cake! Having read so much about this spot I had to try it and it definitely hit my expectations. Their chocolate cake literally melts in you mouth. Pure Deliciousness!
If I could eat only one chocolate cake for the rest of life, this would be it! Decided to stop by to get some coffee and take a break from all the walking. Just as I was about to go to the counter to order my son points to the menu...get a slice of their chocolate cake, it says that it is what they are known for. No words when I took that first heavenly bite. How can it be this good!? It is light with a mousse texture that just melts in your mouth. It's not overly sweet and you can just tastes the high quality dark chocolate. I regret not getting a second slice. On their website it says that their chocolate cake is legendary and is one of the top contenders to be the best in the world. I AGREE! I believe this is the original location.
If you like chocolate, you have to try the chocolate cake here! There's even a sign that says so ;) The chocolate cake slice tasted delicious, a little bit like a mousse. Had to get another slice because it was so good. I will note that the cake is very filling and rich, so don't get it if you prefer something lighter.
Cute little café at LX Factory. Stopped in on a Saturday at 11:30. I ordered an iced latte and it did its job. I'm not sure if it's just this café, or if it's a Lisbon thing but if you want the coffee to go, they charge you for a cup. Since we weren't in a rush, we ended up just sitting down to enjoy the coffee. There's plenty of seating inside and it was empty for a late Saturday morning.
definitely the best chocolate cake i've ever had! the texture reminded me of a cross between tiramisu and mousse.
There are a huge variety of beverage options, mostly caffeine based but also juice, water, and milk but just one food item-- the chocolate cake. That's how you know it'll be good. They don't waste effort on anything else but perfecting the cake. It's a layer of cake on the bottom and rich yet light chocolate frosting on top then dusted with a thick layer of chocolate powder. The cafe itself is beautifully decorated with ample indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is conveniently on the table itself.
Is it World's Best Chocolate Cake? It's really good. I'm glad that we got to try it. Located at Lx Factory. It's a great coffee shop. I almost forgot about this place abd cake but glad we were doing happy hour across the cafe and wanting dessert. The cake is blissful. Not to sweet. Wish I bought an extra slice since my friends took turns taking a bite from my slice. If you are in Lisbon, make sure to at least try it.
Known for one of the worlds best chocolate cake, it would be wrong to miss out on the opportunity to indulge in Landeau. The cake is rich, indulgent yet light. Delicate and well balanced. And affordable! Highly recommend - don't miss out on this treat.
You think, why is the menu only showing cake plus drinks. My partner said it best, "when you do something great, just do that!" The cake is extremely delicious and I had a love/hate relationship with sharing it. It's decadent, it's rich, it's creamy, the mousse on top is so fluffy. I paired it with the hot chocolate (cause you can never have too much chocolate!) with milk (helped cut the sweetness/richness) and I was in Heaven. My partner and I loved both and it was an awesome treat after walking the area.
While exploring the LX Factory in Lisbon, Portugal (which is a hip shopping area filled with stores, restaurants and art galleries), we wandered into this adorable coffee shop-- what a gem! Landeau offers the typical drinks for all your espresso needs but they only serve ONE food item, just ONE type of chocolate cake. That's it. Being chocolate lovers, we had to try it and... it was just blissful. The cake was so decadent, light and intensely chocolate. We took tinier and tinier bites as we ate because we didn't want to finish the piece. Definitely one of the best chocolate cakes I've tasted. And on top of that, the sleepy ambience with fans twirling on the ceiling with soothing music in the background made it feel like time was standing still.... Such a lovely place.
Mark my words, Landeau's chocolate cake is one of the best. It is really delicious! I liked that it was not too sweet and creamy. It surpassed my expectations. This is a must try when visiting LxFactory! Décor is cute and very Parisian. Staff was very friendly!

Usually not a fan of chocolate cake, but this one was legit. A slice of chocolate cake runs you 5.30 euros, and it's not too sweet. Large enough to share, but small enough that you don't feel guilty indulging. The cake itself is three layers of perfection - a chocolate cake base, chocolate mousse middle, and a dusting of cocoa powder on top. Perfect way to get out of the afternoon heat with a cup of cafe com gelo! read more

We got the hyped up chocolate cake, heralded by the NY Times, in their piece, "The Chocolate Cake That Saved My Vacation" and dubbed one of the best in the world. With a spare day in Lisbon, we headed to LX Factory for a ride on the tram and a look around at the art and the vibe. I researched whether there was anything unique, or considered a must-try to eat or drink there, and lo and behold, it was the cake. We ate a few blocks away, but before leaving the area, we returned for dessert to try this cake. The cool coffee shop was very airy and green, with lots of seating, both indoors and out. It wasn't busy when we were there, so I ordered a slice to share with my two littles, who devoured it! I guess I should have ordered two! It was light and airy, with a smooth, rich brownie bottom layer. The cake was flavorful and light, in the best way. I could have lingered longer here with a coffee as well, but with two antsy littles in tow, I wouldn't have enjoyed my coffee much, but the cake hit the spot. If you find yourself at LX Factory, definitely get the cake! I don't really have a sweet tooth, nor love desserts that much, but this cake was great and not too sweet. It's not worth a special trip for, but definitely don't skip if you're at LX Factory and craving a sweet treat. I don't think it's the best in the world, but yeah, it's good! read more

While this place is definitely a bit over hyped, it is a very good slice of chocolate cake! Really more like a mouse than a cake. Not sure if i'd buy it again for the price but glad I gave it a try. Their location in LX factory was totally empty when we went, with lots of seating. We ordered at the counter and ate there. read more

After reading an article about the world's best chocolate cake in Lisbon from Food and Wine, I was convinced that I had to try it. I made an objective to come here to grab a slice and it was totally worth the stop. Located just inside of the LX factory, this cozy little shop also offers coffee, hot chocolate, tea etc. in addition to their specialty cake. Though some might think that they are quite expensive but I can assure you that they are worth every penny. Here are my reasons of why I love Landeau's infamous cake: 1. It's rich in chocolate 2. It's velvety smooth 3. It's light and airy 4. It's semi bittersweet 5. It's all around decadent Honestly, because the cake was so luscious, I think I may have fallen in love after that first bite! I ended up ordering another slice for take out and I did not regret. Anyone who loves chocolate will find it utterly addicting! read more

Is this the best chocolate cake in the world? It depends on your preferences. For me, it wasn't. I like to have chocolate bits and more texture in my cakes. The ganache chocolate cake was too soft and uniform throughout with little variety, and didn't really stand out. Personally, it was not my cup of tea. read more

Best flourless chocolate cake in Lisboa and the best one we've had anywhere! We chanced upon Landeau while shopping at the Sunday flea market at LX Market. The coffee ordering was also and the coffee was well prepared. I highly recommend Landeau. The coffee and cake was well worth the 4.90 Euros. read more
We were told by many people this was the best chocolate cake in the world and it definitely lived up to it's title! I was so excited to try this and even more excited that it was SO RICH AND DELICIOUS! It literally just melts in your mouth. It tastes like CHOCOLATE and not an overload of sugar accompanied by chocolate. read more

If you can find LX Factory, you have to go to get the chocolate cake here. My friend and I were told by multiple people around Lisboa that this place has the best chocolate cake, and they were not lying. We arrived before the place was open and could smell the chocolate from outside. The woman at the counter was incredibly nice, and we enjoyed our chocolate overload while flipping through the chocolate cookbook they had laying out. read more
