Found this place on a food tour in Lisbon and it quickly became one of my favorite stops each day. The bakery items are great but the tarts are amazing! You can get them everywhere, of course, but these are the best I've had. Each table has cinnamon and sugar that you can dust on top. Service was great each time I went and the café itself is very big and spacious with plenty of space. Highly recommend!

When in Portugal you must try their Pasteis de nata. These decadent egg tarts have custard filling that melts in your mouth. The shop is a bakery/cafe/bar. I have never seen a bakery/dessert shop serving up some alcohol. I can definitely get used to this. You can order at the counter or the self serve kiosk. They use a machine to take the cash and give you change. I ordered 2 Pasteis de nata and 1 ham and cheese quiche. Every bite was made in heaven. I am definitely buying some to take home for family. They also have some freshly made sandwiches, spinache and cheese quiche and veal croquettes. This place in the famous Avenue de Libertade commercial area.

THE BIG: This location is in the prime location right outside of the Monumento dos Restauradores. Big interior that stretches far inside. You can even watch them making the pastel de natas. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here searching for the best pastel de nata in portugal. At this time, we've had about 4 from 4 different shops. This one was by far the best so far. We ordered one pastel de nata and one veal croquette. I didn't know what to expect from the croquette but it was very meaty and deliciously fried. The pastel de nata was very creamy and eggy. The perfect combo. There is a line, but it goes fast. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done here was around 5 Euro for the egg tart and the veal croquette. Very good and highly recommend.

Nice sit-down place. Very good pastel de Maya's. Be sure to put the powdered sugar on them! Excellent post wine as well. We went here on a food tour but definitely make sure you go on your own if you want to sit and have a break.

Best cafe in the area! The vibe, service and pastries. Pastéis de Nata, one of the famous must try in Portugal! Was 10/10! Will be here again to get a box! Amazing!

Enjoying our time in Lisbon!

Awesome... We've never had those pastries de nata before... wow, real yummy! We enjoyed their's, but enjoyed the pastry shop next door to our Hotel a bit better.

One of my favorite spots to get pastel de natas! You can order 1, a sleeve or go for a combo with port. Their pastel de natas are creamy, custard-y and very flaky. I like mine with a little cinnamon. I also tried a veal croquettes and it was super delicious. If there's a long line, it typically goes quickly. Highly recommend!

This was my favorite of all of the Pasteis de Nata that I ate while I was in Lisbon. The dough is beautifully buttery and yet flaky. The filling is amazing with a warming cinnamon flavor. The staff is extremely friendly and more than happy to walk you through their offerings (they have sandwiches, coffee, and even ginja). They also have a larger seating area upstairs if the cafe on the ground level gets too crowded. Highly recommend grabbing a Nata from here with a cup of coffee!

Located in the heart of Lisbon,in a century-old building, here " The" cream custard tart is the Hero. Recommend to try at least one a day. And all offer was set around the factory star, with breakfast, lunch and snack options. Let yourself be tempted by custard tarts , from Fabrica da Nata, finished out of the oven, made in his view, warm , sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar. You will not be able to stay only for one.

Unpopular belief or not, this was my favorite chain nata place. The tarts are flaky with an interior that isn't as sweet as other places and tastes slightly more eggy. The consistency and taste is really delicious and not just an overly sweet tart as compared to other shops. We purchased them to take home. They last up to 3 days per the store.

Combo #2 with extra pastel de natas

Jaw droppingly good pastel da natas. We will be coming back here before the end of our trip to Lisbon because it was that good. We ordered the #2 which came with a ham/cheese croissant, cafe latte, and a pastel da nata. I also ordered an additional two pastel da natas knowing I'd be hungry without them. Service was fast and we were able to grab a seat outside right next to the bakery. The combo was the perfect amount of food to fill you up, and the pastries are so delicious you could just continue eating them if you had them. I mean just look at how delicious the camera makes them seem. The latte was top tier as well. Overall a great experience and I dont think you'll be disappointed coming here!

This was by far my favorite place to get pastel de Nata in Lisbon. I loved the combination of the creamy filling with the flakey and butter pastry. It was super delicious and such a fast bite to keep you exploring.

The first pastéis de natas of our trip was at Fábrica da Nata. They have multiple locations in Lisbon along with Sintra and Porto. We dropped in on a late Monday evening (8:30pm). The inside is massive along with plenty of outdoor tables. Service is quick and efficient. Besides natas, they also have sandwiches and drinks. Puzzled why when you buy 6 natas (6,90€), you only save 0,30€. - 3x Pastel de nata (1,20€ each) - ate one and saved two for later. Natas weren't too sweet but had a nice creamy filling. Slightly over caramelized in a few spots.

What makes it special is watching the pastries being handmade right in front of you, which adds a level of freshness and craftsmanship that you can actually taste. The service was super fast and friendly. The pastel de nata came out perfectly, with that delicate flaky crust and warm custard that just hits differently when you know it was made moments ago. The espresso was equally impressive, rich and smooth, and the two together make for a simple but near perfect combination. If you are in the area, this is an easy and very satisfying stop.

The crust was super flaky and the tart was nice and warm out of the oven, but I didn't like the flavor of the custard. I did forget to add cinnamon to the top, but I don't think it would have helped me personally. The woman who stood next to me at the counter had a nearly orgasmic experience next to me, so it's obvious that my taste buds are apparently off. I loved the patience of the server, who got confused when I told her I wanted to eat in but wanted to take water to go. Note to self...Portuguese folks want to have their "to go" as "takeaway." What I also didn't know was that there was no place to sit!! I scooted down the counter just like all the other folks to watch the bakers prep the next gozillion pastries for the day. That was interesting. Then, I didn't know how to bus my dishes. I just left them on the counter like all the other folks and went away. I wouldn't skip going because of my personal taste buds, though. Enjoy it for yourself and let me know if you have a different opinion than I did!

From the moment we were seated, Cristina took her time in welcoming us and explaining every item on the menu. We got extremely lucky in beating the dinner rush and submitting our orders in. The subsequent groups who came in were simply turned away or quoted at least an hr wait. Even with full house, our foods came in a reasonable time. With her recommendation, we went with seafood bake for 2 and BBQ pork in 4 diff cuts (we wanted to try a little bit of everything). The seafood bake was beyond amazing - there were literally 4 diff types of WHOLE fish (cod, salmon, bass?, can't tell the last one), along with dozen of fresh shrimp with shells still on and clams! The pot felt bottomless with seafood. It took us literally an hr just to power through this dish. The seafood bake's sauce was so yummy that my husband started throwing in his side potato to soak up the flavor. Towards the end, he straight up spooned and drank it. The bbq pork was so juicy and flavorful! My husband really enjoyed the bacon cut - fatty yet crispy. The side salad was so refreshing with its light, house made dressing. Honestly, we couldn't be any happier with our dinner! Too bad we were so stuffed that we didn't get to try their desserts. What an incredible meal! Amazing food and heartwarming service - Cristina even took the time to come by our table to check and chat with us during dinner rush - we couldn't ask for more. Price was a steal especially for how much food we got - around 50 Euros. Would definitely return if we ever revisit Lisbon!

We were peeking at the menu outside when the owner, Christina, ushered us in and assured us she'd prepare something to our liking. She did not disappoint. We each started with a drink; my colleague had a beer and I had a red wine. We shared a cheese appetizer and olive appetizer. The cheese was very...fragrant?...but seriously delicious and creamy. It was served with a side of honey which we both drizzled on our bread with each (admittedly three total for each of us) serving. For our mains, we had fish. I had the salmon, served with stewed vegetables and salad. He had the cod entree. We were both initiated into the clean-plate club, with very little left for rinsing. For dessert we tried the carob mousse (my favorite!) and the chocolate cake (delicious, but the mousse takes the cake -- no pun intended). The waiter, Antonio, was an absolute gem, and treated us to a digestif following our dessert. Having already had two glasses of wine, I should have passed on the digestif, but when in Lisbon, you do as Antonio tells you. I had the most fantastic evening with Christina and her crew, and upon future visits to Lisbon I will make it a must to visit again.
