I stopped by because it was recommended by our tour guide as a must go. The take out line is quite long and busy but I was able to get a table for just myself fairly quickly. The dining area is on the smaller side but can accommodate some smaller groups. The pastries themselves were decent but nothing beats pastel de nata for me. They only take cash and they were nice enough to wait for me to grab some from my friend outside and come back in to pay.

The service took a while but was really good. Don't get scared by the line, just skip the takeout line and sit inside, order something and then get your pastries to go by ordering on the table. Staff was friendly and really helpful- even recommended a place to see at night (bc of x-mas lights). The pastry I ordered "travesseiro" was ok - nothing too special.

Food: Tried all of the 'specially made in this region' and was glad I did! I absolutely loved their original travesserio with the almond filling inside. I did try the one with apples and that one was also very good, especially when its war and straight from the oven however the original just tasted so much better for me! Cost: Super affordable so don't be afraid to go down the list and getting one of each to try! Environment: A lot more room for sitting in comparison to the first store. Was able to enjoy some coffee and another dose of sintra sweets while sitting at their backyard porch area. If you're stuck between going to the first location vs this location- I would say the first location is great for the experience however I personally enjoyed the more tone downed second store front. Service: Very quick! Be prepared to know what you'll want to order. Uniqueness: Unique sweets from Sintra!

The pastries were amazing. And very very affordable. All of these totaled 6 euro. The line was insane and was a very stressful experience ordering, getting a spot in line.

Alright, we came here after watching Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix which looked legit and highly recommended but I must say, the pastry, "the pillow", was kinda disappointing. You save time going to this location than the original and there is open outdoor seating so there's that. But the pastry was not that special, just powdered sugar and some marzipan in the center. Also when we ordered a cappuccino, they used some auto coffee machine that dispensed coffee and hot milk which tasted horrible instead of making it properly on their espresso machine! Grimace face. Quality: 2/5 stars Service: 2/5 stars Value: 4/5 stars

4.5 stars for me! Delicious local pastries! Go to this second location which is super close to the original - like a few minutes walk away to avoid long lines. Arrived around 12pm and there were only 3 people in front of me on a Wednesday. Service was not bad and moved quickly - some English spoken so it was pretty easy. Got the travesseiro which is a puff pastry with almond paste. So buttery, flaky, and sweet. I loved it. I also got a queijada (the special one with the paper around it but it crumbled pretty easily while trying to eat it and was really messy. Also it was too sweet for me. The pastel de nata was good - it looked like a phyllo dough for the crust instead of the traditional crust which was also tasty. Def recommend this spot. Outdoor and some indoor seating. They do not take American Express cards.

We came here for lunch at 1400 on a Friday. The place was pretty bust we we managed to find two tables outside to sit. Service:(3 stars) a bit slow, they have forgotten our drinks for a bit Food: (5 stars) The food is pretty cheap, a beer is 1.50, hamburger is really good, the steak is ok, without the sauce it would be too dry but with the sauce it was really good. With 5 deserts and drinks for everyone, the total came out to 53.50€ Ambiance: There is a terrace, which has 10 tables for 4 people. There is an indoor area as well. They do have pigions which fly around once in a while.

Unfortunately the original Piriquita was closed, so we came here for lunch. Food was okay, my dad's hamburger ended up being really good! Wish we would've known they had some of the same pastries as Piriquita as we would've bought some, but the lines were outrageously slow and long. If you sit at the tables, it's a bit confusing and cramped as heck.

Great place to get traditional Sinta pastries. The service is fast and friendly. It's also way less crowded than the other piriquita location. I ordered at the counter quickly and sat down to enjoy my breakfast. Queijada - Sweet treat similar to natas, but not as sweet or custardy. Travesseiros - Fluffy pastry made form egg and almonds. They have a few different options: normal, chocolate or apple. All of them were soft and delicious!

Originally want to stop by the original one but it closes every Wednesday (FYI). However, they opened a second venue not to far (up the block). Walked in and it was a bit crowded but found a seat outside on the rooftop patio. The waiter was nice but he was the only one serving about 8-10 tables. He eventually came around. We ordered about 6 items. The lunch menu is average, but the desserts are where it's at! Make sure that you order the Travesseiro (and if they have in-stock, the Travesseiro de chocolate). And top it off with a café or a Galão. All-in-all, it's a decent pit-stop but I wonder if the original would be better.

We stopped here for a few quick treats during our tour, and I'm glad did! My brother wanted to try the queijadas, which Sintra is known for, and I wanted to try the travesseiros, which Casa Piriquita, specifically, is famous for - this is the second location, just up the street from the original. We got one of each to split so we could try both. Queijadas are made with fresh, creamy cheese, sugar, eggs, flour, and cinnamon, inside of a kind of crispy pastry cup, like a tart. Since it was still warm, it was a lot more delicate than I had expected. A little rich and sweet, but not overly, so I could've easily had a couple to myself. Travesseiro means "pillow" in Portuguese, which is what these pastries look like, and from what I understand, the original Casa Piriquita is where they were originally made. These are dough-based puff pastry with egg yolk and almond cream and also served warm. They were flaky, sprinkled with sugar but not crazy sweet, and apparently there's a secret ingredient that makes them even better. I'm a huge almond-flavor fan, so this was perfect for me. The pastries are authentic, great quality, and really delicious, and service is fast but still friendly and patient, even though it's always busy. Don't leave Sintra without coming here (or their original one)!

Cheese sandwich with butter...pretty basic but the bread was good

Outstanding desserts with a great space outdoors to just chill. It was pretty empty of tourists around 5-530.

Average pastries at good prices. It was not my favorite pastry shop in Portugal. You can skip this place.

Sacolinha - mini bola de berlim, castanha de ovo

One of my favorite bakeries in Lisbon! I came across Sacolinha while I was Googling about for the…read morebest sweet treats in Lisbon, and was immediately drawn in by their massive selection and great reviews. Cascais is, unfortunately, quite far from the heart of Lisbon, but I was thankfully planning to make a trip out there as part of a tour group (shoutout to Buendia's Sintra / Cascais tours) so had the perfect opportunity to check out Sacolinha's giant pastry case. My mom and I decided to split an assortment, which included two mini bola de berlim, as well as two different types of castanhas de ovos. The bola were lovely; they were super soft and pillowy, and the fillings (one was egg custard, the other nutella, I think) were both great. They were a smidge too sweet and did slightly remind me of American donuts, but they were a bit softer and less overwhelmingly sweet than their US counterparts. My favorite, though, had to be the castanhas de ovos. I already love chestnuts, so having the world's best nut translated into a dessert was a dream come true. They were so delicious that my mom and I had to come back to buy a box of six to bring home with us. The store itself is a pretty simple, but large pastaleria. It tends to get pretty crowded, but there's, thankfully, ample indoor and outdoor seating. You order up at the counter, and then they'll log your order onto a standard card, which you can later take up to the register to cash out. It's a bit of an odd system, but honestly makes the ordering way more efficient, since you don't have to wait for everyone's credit cards to process or cash to get counted, and you can go up to the register to pay at your leisure.

Staff were generally friendly although the cashier muttered something in Portuguese at me when I paid with $50 bill for 2 pastries. That's the only bill I had left as this place is cash only. I tried a beef empanada and a ham and cheese pastry. Honestly I felt it was underwhelming and the ham and cheese one was not good at all. Perhaps I should have tried something sweet. In anycase location and ambience were nice and easy access given located right on the main road.

Landeau - Chocolate cake

That is exactly the "good" problem Landeau has as besides their famous chocolate cake, all they have are beverages, inadvertently making their sign outside with the proclamation "When in doubt, try chocolate cake!" kind of hilarious. Once you've huffed and puffed your way up one of Lisbon's stairmaster hills, the darkened and vintage feeling interior of this particular Landeau feels very welcome. Although there is ample seating for the size of this store, the ample line of people waiting to get in from the outside might make getting a seat difficult nonetheless. I do like the regular lattes here but let's face it, any beverage you get here is really meant to be a sidekick to the main star of the show, Landeau's famous chocolate cake. And it is indeed, the best slice of chocolate cake you'll ever have, and that is not hyperbole. Layered and textured, but pillowy and light, it's really difficult to describe what a beautiful heavenly experience eating a chocolate cake at Landeau is. It's like treating your mouth to the most sumptuous and comforting experience it's ever going to have when eating something and you never want to end. And for under 5 euros, it almost feels like a steal. I really do consider going to a Landeau one of the highlights of my trip to Lisbon and urge everyone to put it on their must eats here. Even yes, over the egg tarts.
