THE BIG: Pretty good pastry cafe shop by castelo de sao jorge. Long restaurant space with a big pastry selection. Street Parking is available if you can find it. THE BLACK AND WHITE: We came here after our long walk (hike) to the castle. Fortunately this pastry shop has some great reviews on the desserts. We were still craving pastel de natas and got one here. TBH, very good pastel de natas but the pasteis de belem is much better IMO. We also got the porto croissant, which is more bready than filo material. It had a decent glaze on top that added a nice flavor profile. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, for the two pastries, the damage done was 3.4 euros. Good pastry shop to stop after wandering the castelo de sao jorge.
We stopped by to try their pastel de nata. They were very speedy and there wasn't a line when I came. They took Apple Pay. The inside is charming and it's quite close to the castle. The pastel de nata was quite good - not quite as good as the OG at Pasteis de Belem but definitely one of my favorites I had in Lisboa!
I had this place on my list from the start but then someone said a local recommended it too so I had to add it to my itinerary I came on a day I was mainly cafe hopping or sitting at parks and site seeing The line was out the door but not too long Ordered a pastel, sausage pastry, and fresh OJ Went upstairs to the sitting room area and got a spot right next to the window which was perfect for people watching The pastel was great but not one of my favorites. The OJ was absolutely delicious along with the sausage pastry! Really enjoyed that one. Definitely give it a try to compare to other pastel spots
A cute little cafe by the castelo. There's a few tables and a long high top inside. The Pastel de Nata is more creamy and sweet thank eggy. Not my favorite, but still pretty good. I also tried the port soaked croissant- that's was an experience. Lots of sandwiches and other desserts to try!
Good pastry stop before the castle but nothing special , they claim their pastel de natas is the best which is not the case, the montagero shop is the best. I tried a bunch of different desserts but nothing stood out, even the coffee was average. They have seating upstairs and a lot of drink options . The drunk pear was interesting and the mango sorbet was great. The cheesecake was very light and not too sweet
Crazy busy but excellent excellent egg tart. The service was quick and professional. Inside was clean and neat. Definitely a place that you need to stop by. It carries hundreds of years of tradition and culture and brings them to the modern day.
Our favorite of all the bakeries and coffee shops we went to. The service was great, and the place has great views of the surrounding streets near the castle. The food and coffee were incredible! - The Port wine croissant is one of the best pastries I've ever had, and I could eat one every single day. - The pastel de natas were really good as well and I'd recommend getting a few You have to come and get some pastries from this place!

The ham and cheese croissant was my favourite. It was flaky - the cheese was savoury and had just the right amount of ham in it. They also cut it in half for us which was great. The pasteis de nata was not the best I've had. It was pretty flaky but the custard wasn't creamy enough for me. The cappuccino's were okay - they weren't strong enough but overall did the trick of waking me up As for service - I gave it a 3 as there was no toilet paper in the bathroom and there was no where to put the dirty dishes as the bucket was all full.
After hearing lots of great reviews of Pastelaria Santo Antonio, my wife and I decided to pay them a visit. As we were in Lisbon, my wife and I were going to a few bakeries to try which had the best Natas. We ended up ordering one to share from here, and thinking back now, I wish we had ordered more. The Natas were very fresh and warm. The custard filling had a very nice taste and the outside was nice and flaky. The interior of the shop was nice and cozy. The servers were also very kind. It was raining outside so they offered us a complimentary warm drink. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some natas!!
Been here multiple times over the years. One of the top Pastel da Nata's in the city. Great crust and creamy filling. Often lines out the door but it moves quickly.
Egg and custard tarts are a work of art, and Santo Antonio takes the pastries like a renaissance painting. My Asian bias is showing, but I normally opt for Chinese egg tarts. But this takes the cake (or carb... what are euphemisms?). Perhaps there's a colonial connection somewhere.
This has been the best bakery we have visited during our trip! If you are visiting the famous Castelo S. Jorge, this is right on your way! Like 2 block priors arriving at the castle entrance. All their baked goods looked amazing so I got the Mozzarella and Tomato Baguette with Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice, and my boyfriend got the Ham and Cheese Croissant, a coffee, and Orange Juice too. Now, this place has won the best Pastel de Nata in Lisbon in 2019, so for sure we added that to our order. My baguette was delicious! Cheese, tomato, and the baguette itself tasted so fresh and soft. My boyfriend devoured his croissant sandwich and he loved it! The drinks were so good too and the Pastel de Nata at the end was delicious! The perfect sugar dose, the dough was crispy and the feeling was creamy but with a good consistency. Service is quick since you order upfront and they will give you the tray right there. They have extra seating on the second floor and the place is clean and modern looking.
On a quest for the best Pastel De Nata (Portuguese Tart), I discovered that Pastelaria Santa Antonio received an award in 2019. Having tasted several tarts here and in the states, I can attest that each bakery's version is delicious and possesses its own unique charm. The service was professional, and the transaction was swift. There is seating on the same level if the endless hills were a big workout for you. There is also setting up the stairs, along with toilets and an area where you can witness the entire process of how the tart is made. This is at the top near the Castle. Nice stopping place to get some ice cream and connect to WIFI if needed. We got coffee ice cream. The coffee ice cream was very light in coffee flavor but it was very good and refreshing. The cone was crunchy. The employees are very nice and speak perfect English. read more

Excellent food and for us location as it is next to our hotel. The ham and cheese pastry sandwich was so good I wanted more. Fluffy buttery pastry filled with goodness. My first Pastel de Nata was a mouth watering experience. Worth stopping by for breakfast or a quick bite read more

On our way down from the castle, we stopped in for their award winning egg tart. They were voted the best egg tart in 2019. I liked it but it wasn't my favorite. I prefer a more eggy tasted that is a little less sweat. The staff here is friendly they have a decent amount of seats (bar seating in the ground floor and more tables on the second). They are a small chain with a few locations. read more
Solid pastel de nata near castelo San Jorge. If you are climbing those curvy roads and need a quick snack, this bakery offers a variety of options and has a special section for the natas. Servers are very nice but wish the nata had cinnamon. It was very sweet like your typical pastry. Tldr good pastries read more

Wonderful fresh Pastel de Nata. We saw the baker preparing the pastel de nata in the window right in front of us and took our pastel de nata upstairs. An incredible view of downtown Lisbon from the cafe seating upstairs where we ate! read more

Stopped by here on a day trip in Lisbon. We got the famous pasteles de nata and ate them upstairs with a gorgeous lookout over the streets of Lisbon. Very good pastry and great views. read more

Wonderful staff and everything on the menu was as good as it looked. The value is next to none. I was particularly I pressed by the cappuccino and the croissant porto. read more
The custard tarts here were quite good. The custard itself was a bit too sweet (vs Belém) but not overwhelming. Would've preferred the crust to be a bit flakier. This was our favorite tart in the old town area though. There was only a small line at 11ish in the morning. Ample seating upstairs. FYI here are my rankings of the different spots that I tried: 1. During our trip earlier this year before covid-19, we stopped by because it was super close to our Airbnb. Pastel de natas - a little sweeter than other pastel de natas I had. I didn't want to sprinkle cinnamon and powder sugar to it as it was already sweet. Caracol Frutos Secos - a pastry with a swirl & raisins. Wasn't super sweet and honestly a bit bland. It was flakey but super sticky. Napolitana - a chocolate filled croissant like pastry topped with powdered sugar. It was flakey but super sweet because there was a lot of chocolate inside. They have a minimum when using a credit card so we bought 2 pastel de natas, caracol frutos secos, and the napolitana. Napolitana - chocolate croissant like pastry with powdered sugar. Super sweet! There's a lot of chocolate inside! Would recommend trying their pastel de natas if you like them on the sweeter side. read more

This is the absolute best bakery to get your pastel de nata from when in Lisbon. From the pastry crust to the custard filling to the flavour profile, these pastels are simply perfection. I will be dreaming of these pastels until I can return to Lisbon - they're truly incredible. read more

Stumbled upon this place during my time in Lisbon. For me, this was one of the best pasteis de nata that I tried during my time in Portugal. Loved seeing how they were made in the large window/display. They were 1,15 euros per pasteis, or deliciousness I should say. You can also find ice cream to the left side of the counter. My friends indulged in something cooler than I did during our visit because of the heat, but I was on a mission to try all the custard tarts in my way. You can't beat the freshness and richness of the pasteis, they're so addicting! read more

We stopped by here as part of a free walking tour and our tour guide said they were the winner of the 2019 pasteis de nata contest so it's highly recommended! Food/Drink: Their award-winning pasteis de nata was truly worth the hike into the Alfama district. Our tour guide said that out of all the imitation pasteis de belem found in Lisbon, this one comes closest to the original recipe! Besides their tarts, they also sell a variety of other Portuguese pastries. Price: Like most pasteis de natas, they are very affordable at only 1 euro each. Atmosphere: A small shop that you just grab and go, with limited counter seating. read more

Walking down from the castle we passed by this bakery and saw their notice if having won 1st prize in 2019 for their Pasteis de Nata. Of course we had to try them. Delicious! Best ones we had this week in Lisbon: crispy, flaky crust, creamy, mellow custard. Yum! Will return here b4 leaving. read more
