Taking a detour into Lafayette's Mt Diablo Blvd was an experience. I've always passed through on state route 24, but never had the opportunity to make a stop into this small town. My coffee addiction was a good enough reason to search for the nearest Buxo. This particular Starbucks sits on the corner. The space is quite small, but has a cozy feeling. The best seat in the house are the two seated table located in front of the main glass window. I can easily day dream by watching traffic going by. They make great drinks here as all the other locations, but geographically this is one of my favorites. If you are wondering where to park, there is a lot at the back of the building where there are quite a few other small shops. Beware parking can be limited during a busy weekend and the spaces are somewhat tight. I would definitely visit this bucks again. read more

The coffee is Starbacks' , so you know what to expect, and it was up to par. The shop itself leaves a some things to desire. No napkins, no paper towels in the restroom, some liter on the floor. It did not look cozy and inviting. Perhaps, they just did not have enough employees this day. read more

In regard to the review of "Justin N." on August 11: That's not how it went down. Justin was the only person in line, and was politely (and very quietly) asked to leave by someone not on the clock yet due to personal issues caused BY HIM. No one took the food out of his hands; he walked back over to the case and put it back himself. I also love how he insinuates that he wasn't causing any problems, when his presence in the store (and repeated visits to the store, which was obviously an attempt to make one of the employees uncomfortable) was a problem in and of itself. He loves to play the victim, but I'm not letting it slide this time. After all the pain he's caused, he has no right to victimize himself when he's the one trying to instigate an encounter with someone who's made it clear they want space from him. There's another Starbucks 0.9 miles away, as well as one in Safeway across the street, and he could have gone to one of those to prevent this entire situation. It's truly amusing that he decided to take this to Yelp instead of being an adult and just letting it rest. But since he wants to go there, let's do it. Justin, it's over. Move on. Get a life. On our way home to the valley and stopped here to get 2 coffees. Associate Jamie looked as tho she was training a fellow associate. First off she took out money as tho we were infected and asked us to place on counter. Then as she made our drinks I took my mask off to taste and she asked me to put my mask back on so I stepped outside. This was the worst coffee experience ever. Both our drinks were made horribly. I think someone needs to retrain miss Jamie and also teach her some customer service skills. May I suggest that u try Starbucks inside safeway across the street. On Saturday we attended the Lafayette Art and Wine festival . My girlfriend went into this Starbucks to use the restroom and grab some water. There was a sign posted on the front door that stated "BATHROOM USE ONLY WITH A PURCHASE "......... So my girlfriend asked for a tall coffee. The staff person, I think her name was "Morgan".... said that buying something, would still not allow her to use the restroom. She stated that the rest rooms were now closed to the public. My girlfriend told me what had happen, so I immediately went in to inquire why she couldn't use the restroom, even though the sign on the front door stated, BATHROOM USE ONLY WITH A PURCHASE. I was told by the staff person at the register, that the bathroom was closed to the public. I asked her why and she immediately gave me attitude.... I asked to speak to the manager and she stormed in the back of the store, and I could over hear her saying something about me. She storms out the back room and hands me a piece of paper, with the name of ..MATT.... She said he was not in and that if I had a problem, I could call the store tomorrow. I told her that Starbucks recently had a National day of diversity training and that her attitude with me , as a black man, was totally unacceptable. I told her that the sign on the door about buying something to use the restroom, should be taken down. SHE STORMED FROM BEHIND THE COUNTER, RIPPED THE SIGN OF THE FRONT DOOR.... and walked by me with a HUGE ATTITUDE...!! I want to state, that WHEN ALL THIS TOOK PLACE... the STORE WAS NOT THAT BUSY..!! It is my opinion that whatever training this person had, was a waste of time. From the minute I walked up to the counter, she was never friendly. She didn't like the fact that I questioned the note on the front door. It is also my opinion, that she and that store, rarely interact with people who look like me..!! Lafayette California, has less than one percent of African or black Americans.... IT IS ALMOST 90 percent WHITE.... Mexican and other minorities are also less then the AFRICAN AMERICAN POPULATION...... This is why Starbucks had issues in the past.... The staff person at this LAFAYETTE STORE was a total "B".... from the onset , she had a MAJOR ATTITUDE...and didn't like the fact that I questioned her policy...... The best thing about this Starbuck's is it is on the corner of Mt Diablo and Oak Hill in Lafayette, and has large picture windows. So if you are inclined to laze about in the afternoon and watch people while you sip your latte and browse on your laptop, it is good. it has free parking in the rear, has outlet plugs by the window tables for your pc, and has a nice small town feel to it, not the normal Starbucks new strip mall feel. It has a wood laminate floor, a local photographers photos on one wall, and none of that swirly metal counter with candy drop lights like so many Starbucks. However, there are very few tables, and no patio seating except around the back. if you come in the morning and in off season, you may see San Diego charger's head coach Norv Turner here, and you used to catch Joe Montana on occasion, just ordering a morning cup (of "Joe"?) like everyone else. read more

Hands down the nicest, friendliest, and fastest Starbucks I've been to in the East Bay. The morning crew is always happy and friendly. They genuinely seem to like each other and work well as a team. Ok. This is Starbucks. I'd like to let it be known up front that I am not a big fan of Starbucks. However, beggars cannot be choosers, and I am in dire need of a place to be productive. Therefore, I am a fan of THIS Starbucks. Yes, they serve Star-crap coffee, but there is ample seating, power outlets, and suburbanites to stare at as they traipse down Mount Diablo Blvd. It's conveniently located by the BART station, and there are various food outlets nearby. (Yes, I was excited by the fact that there's a Panda Express nearby. Yes. Embarrassing.) There are also huge windows --- and since I'm cooped up in the Hall for most of the day, it's great to be able to enjoy the natural light as before the sun sets over the East Bay hills. Seriously. This place is wonderful. It'd be perfect if it were a Peet's. read more

Typically and boringly predictable Starbucks. This one just happens to be frequented by a higher ratio of white, suburban moms in their huge SUVs. It's on the main drag of Lafayette, and so pretty visible, and so has a lot of traffic, including people parking in the bar parking lot opposite. However, the locals know better, and will probably go to Papillion in the shopping complex behind. In a pinch, Starbucks is ok for vegans, but I object to paying for over-priced sliced fruit, the "tax" on soy and pretisions of "protein boxes" (fruit and vegetables are full of it, but that misses the point). So all in all, probably not somewhere I'd go unless I was meeting someone. read more

I often go to Starbucks to do computer work as I get my coffee fix. This location is very small, the seating is crammed together, and there are no outlets in the seating area for customers to use. Very odd. The parking is very limited due to the location always bustling with customers. The only upside of this location is the staff- they are all very friendly. If you are looking for a Starbucks to work at this is not the location for you. read more

If you have to go the Starbucks route, this is the best location in the corridor. Easy walking from BART. Located in cool shopping district. Surprised to find many regulars prefer to park themselves here over the local cafes...but perhaps the wifi is the reason. The staff is fantastic and really friendly. Street and rear parking lot. Jack was the best part of my experience here. When I was paying and putting my purchases in a bag that I had to ask for, my specific latte order was kindly place in front of me, and told me my order. I thought, "Wow. That was quick." I didn't see who it was that made my coffee. It's the millionth time I've ordered that drink from Starbucks all over. So as I walked out, I took a sip to make sure it was right, and as I walked out the door, tasted my PERFECT venti, triple, 8 pump skinny vanilla latte. Topped with perfect foam. Bravo. I was so impressed by my heavenly coffee moment, that I ended up going back in to find out who made my little piece of heaven to start my day. I think when I asked who made my drink, he wasn't expecting me to say thank you, it's perfect, and slip him a $5 tip. Thank you Jack! So yes, I pretty much just paid $10 for a perfect latte. lol. A barista finally got my crazy drink order made perfectly. He deserved it. And he saved the place from a lesser review. read more

One of the barista who works here at the store, she literary threw the floor mats towards the customers who were dining at the store. Not only one, but, 4 of them which caused all the dusts and germs failing all over us. It even caused one of the customer chocked or coughed due to the dirt went to her face instantly. She kept throwing the floor mats and did not apologized to us. The other baristas rather than working, they just kept flying around, making gestures comments towards some of the customers who just came in with disabilities, race, and etc. This person has tattoos on her right arm & legs, and a butterfly on her right ankle. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is it's size. They did improve the seating with a couple benchs added recently, but it still is a bit on the small size. The staff are wonderful, the coffee is always good, and I can relax and eat my lunch with a good book. I'm a Starbucks fan for a couple reasons. The coffee (plain coffee) is consistent from store to store and the quality of the service is (almost) always as good as you could ask for. This store is great! read more

This is a pretty typical Starbucks. The baristas are fairly quick and work reasonably hard at moving the line when it gets busy. My only gripe with this location is that it is a victim of its own success. Many times I get there and the seats are filled with computer tapping coffee addicts, so I end up taking my coffee to the little park down the street, or back to my office if the weather is bad. read more

There are two enormous problems with this coffee stand. First, there are only seven tables. And the irony is the store is in an area of high disposable incomes, yet there are very few ways to get your items. It would not matter if there were a drive up window, but the space is way too small. Next, the air conditioning is either broken or turned off most of the time.
