I come to the drive thru when I'm have to work in California MD and usually do a mobile order. Today I ordered in drive through and when I received my drinks, the messages on my drinks were just what I had been talking to my teenager about " make good choices" and "be positive". I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a Starbucks, and it was all over something as basic as asking for whole milk in my coffee. I politely asked for whole milk in my drink, and the barista gave me a dismissive look and acted like I was being difficult. When I tried to clarify, I was met with attitude instead of assistance. So I asked to speak with the manager, hoping to resolve things calmly. Unfortunately, that only made things worse. The manager was completely unhelpful and had no sense of customer service. Instead of listening to my concern or making it right, they doubled down with a condescending tone and zero empathy. It felt like my presence was more of an inconvenience to them than anything else. To top it all off, when I asked if they could add some vanilla syrup and a little sugar, I was told bluntly, "You can go get it yourself from the counter." Really? That's how customers are treated here? The whole experience was unpleasant from start to finish. I've been to countless Starbucks locations across Charles County, and this is by far the worst one I've encountered. Insult to injure this was my second attempt at giving them another shot since I can't remember what went the first time, but it was for me to remember it. Completely unacceptable. Save yourself the frustration--skip this location and try the new drive-thru in Waldorf, they seem to have their act together. I'll keep coming back--strictly for the entertainment value--just to see if they ever figure it out. If not, at least I'll have plenty of material to report on how consistently terrible things stay... or how unimpressively their managers handle things situations. read more

This rather diminutive Starbucks has the friendliest staff ever. Everyone was so welcoming! Well stocked shelves with many gifts ideas. Our orders came up fast and efficiently. I love this time of year because the peppermint cake pops are amazing with the peppermint hot chocolate! What a combo! Rudest Crew EVER, no hello, no "sorry for the hold up" no one greeted us and finally when we had to speak up to order they ignored us the first 2 times and then finally someone said they'd be with us. The service is hit and miss here. It was good today, but it is not consistent. The drive-thru always causes backups and confusion for the drivers. The flow of traffic has not be well thought out. I love Starbucks. This one today though - neglected to ring up our order as 'buy one get one free for Happy Hour Special' advertised in Starbucks promotional email that got me to go there. When I mentioned it she knew about it so she had to void my sale and redo the order. (Doesn't everyone get the same promo?) Although they asked my name when I ordered. For mine and every order they didn't call names, just the items they had ready. Might sound weird but I like when they call people's names so you know it's your coffee not someone else's. Also. I frequent this location at least 2-3 times a week, mainly because of the drive thru. Whether the drive thru is long or short, there is always a lengthy wait. And the drinks are never that great. The coffee is never hot, just luke warm and the flavor is mostly a miss, very rarely a hit. I truly don't understand the long wait because when you get to the window, there's always several baristas there. When you get to the window, you should be paying and driving off. You shouldn't have to wait 5 mins for your drink. And half the time, the inside is empty so it can't be that they're busy. As expensive as Starbucks is, the drinks should always be on point! read more

Traveling early in the morning through southern Maryland, it was painfully obvious to me that there was nowhere to eat breakfast on the go. I finally settled on a Starbucks and learned, as I proceeded through the drive-thru, that they do indeed serve breakfast. Really? Well, if the quality of their coffee was any indicator, I should have known better. I went with a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich which they go so far to describe as an "artisan roll". You can't put lipstick on a pig. This was just a square brick that tasted of salty, processed cheese. The only indication of egg or ham was the texture. It was filling, but not in any way desirable. My recommendation is to stick with the lackluster coffee. read more

Anyway, it was right next door to the KFC where we had lunch and the convenience of a walk over to pick up a caffeine fix was too strong to resist. This is a mini 'Bucks and you know what you want before you go inside. It is appointed as the others, providing both a sameness and a comfort. I had a Pike's Roast with extra milk to offset the burnt flavor of the beans, and son went with a Decaf Vanilla Latte - the closest thing to a sweet dessert that I would allow. They were both what we expected. We returned to our road chariot, and pulled out onto Route 301, leaving a light rubber trail as our road warrior personas reasserted themselves. read more

I used to go here all the time but the past 3 months they have been extremely slow and customer service is lacking

Hands down the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. I've been going here over the years when I visit family since it's the only coffee shop around and every single time I visit there is an inappropriate length of time to wait for my order and they get it wrong. The partners don't pay attention to your orders, barely recognize you when you come in, and almost always get the drink wrong. I've started to go inside just so that I can make sure my drink is right since many times in the past I've been down the road before I take my first sip only to realize it was made incorrectly. Each time I've been I feel like I'm a nuisance to the partners- no greetings, no eye contact, no cordialities at all and that's if they can manage to get the boredom and disdain out of their voice when interacting with customers. I'll append this review by saying that I worked at Starbucks for almost 4 years at two of the busiest and most profitable in my region so I know what a well run, well staffed, efficient Starbucks is supposed to be like. And this location is NOWHERE near standard. read more

I call this place the worst Starbucks ever; redeemed it self last 2 visits, today back to the basement. Took me 15 minutes to get an unsweetened ice tea and a cappuccino. Bottom line, 2 people on the drive through at 4:30 on a Sunday, one of those 2 just standing around most of the time I waited. The person on register finally went over to make drinks since NO ONE else was. Must have been 10 drinks waiting . Advice go to the new one across the bridge if you are traveling. The staff here are so unfriendly and borderline impatient. The cashier is a real sourpuss. The location is great because it's on the corner and there is plenty of parking. Let me just say that I only write reviews when I really love something or really detest something. My husband and I came in today to get our typical drinks to help us stay awake on a long road trip around the US. We have stopped in over 40 different locations across 25 states in the past three weeks and have spent lots of money on coffee thanks to many gift cards from family and friends supporting our adventure. We've both worked as shift supervisors at Starbucks for many years and know what service is supposed to look like. This store was a major disappointment. This girl took our order with impatience and arrogance. When my husband asked for his drink (that he gets all the time and has ordered in every location we've traveled to across the states) she corrected him making him feel like he didn't know what he was ordering. Literally just cold brew iced coffee with vanilla and half and half. And she asked if he wanted cold brew or iced coffee "because--there's a DIFFERENCE" she said with attitude. So he let her know that he knows that because he's worked at Starbucks. She continued to give attitude and a cold demeanor the rest of the interaction. Oh and I really wanted to order a drink too but after she gave my husband such a hard time I didn't bother. Not spending my money here. After she made our drink she went straight to the back while talking to her coworkers through her head piece about God knows what--and all the partners working watched us leave. Waited in line for over 20 mins, only to finally order, get to the window and 4 people passed the window without even addressing that I was there. Then a woman came from who knows where and took my payment. Then another lady who'd been cleaning the counters, machines, getting ready for closing I'm assuming, in front of the drive thru window, the entire time I was sitting there waiting finally started making my drink! Another gentlemen where the like dine in drinks are made, was cleaning as well. Another gentleman at the inside register was cleaning too. Last I checked, you don't do closing tasks unless you are in fact closed or if you're slow. This Starbucks is ALWAYS slammed busy... now I see why! Probably the worst customer service I have ever had at a Starbucks. I go in, I order my cappuccino, and I stand there and wait for 5 minutes. I literally have to ask someone if they're going to make my drink. If you're closing, then fine, close and send me away but don't take my order and then expect me to stand there like some sort of Schmuck. Also, the men's bathroom was substandard to say the least. Think dirty rest area. I have never experienced a Starbucks this terrible. Updated to add: this place never fails to disappoint. Waiting on an iced latte for who knows how long. My wife and I used to come here every evening for a drink, sometime more often in the winter (don't judge!). Spend enough time in this drive through that we had a nickname assigned to each staff member and knew who made the best drinks. Then we noticed one or two no longer worked there.. then it began taking longer and longer to get our order.. then one or two more left. Eventually it got to the point where the drinks were extremely inconsistent or we would get an entirely incorrect order. Some were so bad that we didn't drink them. New staff are impolite and hardly mutter so much as a goodbye as you drive off. How does a business that specializes in beverages run out of cups? This location somehow manages this at least once a week. The last straw for me was when they explained that they ran out grande cups and asked if a smaller option is fine... which it would have been if they didn't charge me for the larger option. The absolute worst! The coffee drinks are hit or miss. I stopped ordering the Latte coffee drinks because they were more than often not that good. A few months ago I switched to the Cold Brew Coffee, now that are not that great. I was disappointed too many times with my orders. I was there at 1:20pm on 12/30/2015 and she made a horrible cappuccino- the milk was hardly frothed and I didn't even taste the espresso! Despite there being several other Starbucks near by, I chose this one for the convenience because they have a drive-thru. BIG MISTAKE! This is THE worst Starbucks that I have ever been to. I have visited the location 3 times, and 3 times the drive-thru staff has been unfriendly and unprofessional and 3 times my coffee has been made incorrectly. Today took the cake, the guy with the glasses was THE RUDEST! I am not sure what type of reform or reparations program that is causing the management team to hire such a terrible staff, but my advice would be to close the entire location and start from scratch. 2 mornings in a row I purchased coffee at this Starbucks drive thru. Both mornings a bee or wasp was buzzing around the window. The first morning the barista shut the drive in window and left me to contend with the bee. When the coast was clear, she opened the window and handed me my coffee. This morning as another bee was buzzing around the drive through window, I told the barista they needed to take care of the bee issue because people are allergic to bees. She said there was nothing they could do, bees were always buzzing around the window. If you have bee allergies you may want to think twice about doing business at this Starbucks drive thru, at least during bee season. read more

The drive through is a nice convenience of this one although there is only enough room for three cars and any more cars in line block the entire entrance into the parking lot. They claim to offer coffee grounds for the garden, but I have been in dozens of times and the can for the grounds is always empty. read more
