Let me start by saying--the correct address is 11672 Billingsley Road. The one listed on Google will take you to the office, so just know before you go! I found Selby's Grab and Go on TikTok and decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did. We walked in not realizing we were being greeted by the owner himself, along with the kind staff. Everyone made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in. We sat down to order and decided to sample a little bit of everything. Let's talk about the catfish platter: it came with two huge pieces of fried catfish that were perfectly seasoned and fried fresh. For my sides, I went with the mac and cheese and collard greens...the flavor was on point. Southern comfort just how it should be. We also ordered eight wings and fries to eat while we were there. Crispy, flavorful, not breaded, just how I like it. To-go, we ordered a salmon ceesar salad and a catfish basket with fries for family at home--and even after a 30-35 minute ride, they were raving about how good it all tasted. That says everything. Now here's something I haven't seen mentioned anywhere online: they have a private event space! While I was taking photos, the owner told me to peek in the back--and y'all, there's a full entertainment room that seats 40-45 people. The sound system is incredible and the main dining space includes four large TVs, perfect for football season, March Madness, or private parties. The inside of the restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and comfortable...so don't let the name fool you. You can absolutely grab and go, or sit down and enjoy your food. Bathrooms are handicap accessible, and the kitchen? Clean as a whistle. Selby's deserves more exposure--because this spot is the definition of a hidden gem. Great food. Great people. Black-owned. Clean, welcoming, and delicious. Don't walk--run. Just make sure you go to the right address!

I went here cuz I heard they had good salmon steak and cheese. Order 2 for me and my husband, I ordered no onion on mine. And I ordered chicken wings and french fries for my kids with no sauce. When I got home, I realized that they had put onion on my sub and not just a little bit but huge cuts of onion. I also realized they didn't give me the macaroni and cheese that I ordered but instead me sweet potatoes. My kids wings were completely naked. I assumed that they were going to be fried wings w/breading , but they looked so bland. My kids wouldn't eat it. Which could be my fault for not asking. The steak and cheese was decent but for $25 I don't think I will buy it again.

The chicken & yams were good! The mac & cheese was soupy which was a disappointment. Also ordered collard greens which the few few bites were good. After eating and reaching the bottom the greens were like a spinach consistency. Weird .

I ordered the Big Mama's Chicken Basket. I ordered the yams instead of french fries. The chicken was so good, I devoured them once I got home. I should've ordered another side of yams. The food was delicious. This was my first visit, and I will be back.

Oh I really didn't want to give this place a bad review but this was the last straw. The fish was salty, the Arnold Palmer drink was diabetical. To make matters worse, my son went there for greens and it had a sour smell and looked gritty. I guess it was not enough that there was hair in my green beans. I'm sorry, the third time was it for me. Wear hairnets and use gloves when placing food!

Starting with the pros: our server Milano was great. He gave great recs and was patient with us, he was also our bartender initially. I enjoyed my cocktail and my biscuits! The biscuits were fresh and I loved the sweet potato butter and peach jam. Cons: My entree. I ordered the tale of two fish with all catfish. I will note it took a while to get our food and I wonder if some of it had been sitting because it wasn't hot hot. But my fish was darker than one of my sisters who ordered the same thing and hard. A part of me thinks maybe the grease was old ? My grits were stiff and couldn't even be stirred (also not hot). As I was eating I noticed a hair in my fish, I let out sever know and he asked me if I'd like something else or for a new dish. I opted for a new dish and asked for it to go. That fish was cooked perfectly and the grits were edible. I also ordered a side of the crispy smashed potatoes and the potatoes were just small round potatoes with unseasoned onions and green peppers tossed in the bowl. Across our party someone's chicken (chicken & waffles) tasted old. And 2 people didn't receive their sides (eggs, potatoes) from the kitchen so they just ensured they were removed from the bill. I will say there was a lot going on that day (a pedestrian was hit in the parking lot) but I don't think that would have an impact on the kitchen staff. I'd possibly be open to trying another location but wouldn't return to this one.

Less than a mile away, I walked in and saw that it was a nicely designed and classy restaurant with a bar room that was separate from the main dining area. Decided on their 2-eggs breakfast with some coffee and an appetizer of Brussels sprouts. All very good, although the biscuit that came was a little too overcooked and hard to my liking. But everything else was delicious and the sprouts were a nice way to start my meal. Although I was full, I heard their carrot cake was good. I decided to get it to go. Glad I did because the slice was enormous. A few days later I'm still snacking on that same slice. Overall, lovely place to get breakfast, especially if the diner nearby is too crowded. Beautiful interior and great service sealed the deal.

Today I finally visited and was a bit disappointed to see the underwhelming interior where it is strictly carry out and cheap metal guest chairs to wait on while the food is prepared. But it's really about the food right?! Meh. It was very hit and miss. I ordered the (4) sliders with grilled onions. They were slightly charred which was nice, and they were juicy, but they could have been cooked a little more (they were like medium to medium well and I prefer well done - I should note they didn't ask how I preferred my burgers cooked). I also ordered their jumbo fried wings and picked sweet and sassy sauce. The sauce was tasty and the wings had a nice texture, but beyond the sauce the wings had a plain flavor suggesting they didn't season the wings before frying and then coating them with sauce. Overall the food was solid but not awe inspiring. I was less impressed with their cakes. I ordered a strawberry slice and a carrot cake. The carrot cake was moist and wasn't bad at all. I've had much better, but it was edible and satisfied my sweet tooth for the day. The strawberry cake however was dry and grainy. Perhaps it was old. It was definitely a waste of $7.99! On the plus side the employee was friendly and nice, so there's that!

For about $18 (before tax and tip), you get three selections and two sides, plus biscuits and cornbread ,which is definitely a good value for the quantity of food. I chose the fried chicken, meatloaf, and chicken & dumplings with turnip greens and mashed potatoes. The restaurant was pretty empty, and while the country store area is always charming, the dining room itself felt very cold .....literally. I will say my waitress, Tamara, was amazing. She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and made sure my drinks stayed full. Truly top-tier service. As for the food, it just wasn't good. The fried chicken was crispy but had a strange, almost watery taste. The meatloaf was dry and not appetizing. The chicken & dumplings were the only decent item, but it's hard to mess that up. The greens and mashed potatoes tasted old, and even though the biscuits and cornbread were warm, they tasted like they'd been baked earlier and reheheated. The peach sweet tea was good, though. I usually come to Cracker Barrel for breakfast because their pancakes (with the crispy edges) are good. But lately, even breakfast hasn't tasted as fresh as I remember. It could just be this location, but overall the quality feels like it's declined. The value is there for the portion size, but the freshness and flavor just aren't.
