There are Starbucks around every corner, and if you have another option, I would highly recommend the extra drive to have a better experience. This location is conveniently on my way, but after multiple bad experiences, I will go to a different location or skip my need for a drink completely going forward. If I am not dealing with a rude or slow service, I am dealing with filthy restrooms and sitting area. Last night I put in a mobile order while I was down the street. I set the order for a drive-through pickup. I knew that my order probably would not be ready, having just put in my order a few minutes ago. I came into the drive-through line and let the person know that I had placed a mobile order. They confirmed they had my order and were working on it. There were several cars in front of me and I waited until it was my turn to get to the pick-up window. We were not greeted by anyone. Instead, we waited a few minutes and when the worker had our drinks made, he opened the window and, without saying hello or anything polite, he handed me my drinks and said "Next time you need to come inside and pick up your order because you are messing up our hours" Not sure what that means or how it is different from me ordering at the speaker when I arrive. If anything, sending the mobile order gave them a head start in making our drinks. The mobile order also ensured that my order was placed correctly. I don't have a complicated order, but when I order in person they often get it wrong. Bottom line, skip this location. There are at least 2 locations within 2 miles from this one. read more

This is the best Starbucks team in all of San Diego. Trust me, I have been all over South Bay, North County, the coastal region and East County, and they are consistently good here. Great, really. The team is patient, attentive, purposeful in getting to know their regulars. Honestly. There is no Starbucks in San Diego where I feel more welcome and at home. And I find that when I travel outside of San Diego, I always miss the team here. So why did I dock two stars? Two main reasons: Corporate is ruining the experience here, and this is by far one of the busiest locations in the region -- it always feels so chaotic (because of the customers). No. 1 recently, the renovation. The location was shut down for a few weeks and reopened in August 2025 with a new look. Now, I appreciate that the team has more space in the back for storage and movement. They were absolutely crammed in before. But as with this ridiculous Starbucks trend, corporate redesigned what was more of a homegrown feel perfect for students and workers into more of a lounge. We lost seating, lost space, lost electrical outlets for our devices. The redesign, though fresh and bright with new decor and furniture, has been horrible from the perspective of the customer -- especially given how absolutely busy this place gets with students, teleworkers, groups, families, etc. Second, again, I must repeat it, this place is absolutely overrun. I wish the customer space could be extended. It gets crammed, loud, noisy, most always has a massively large line in for the drive through, which backs up for parking and non-Starbucks passengers driving through. And while the locals know how to manage this, non-locals always arrive confused and disjointed, contributing to the chaos. Despite this, I will still return most every single day for the excellent service, the feeling of family, and an expertly made quad shot of espresso. It's always a nightmare to come here. Today the girl at the drive thru spilled my drink on the card reader, my car and the inside of my car. Luckily it was an iced beverage. This isn't even what made me upset! I asked if they still had pumpkin bread, she said yes. When reading the order back to me she said banana bread, I said no, pumpkin bread please. She said yes pumpkin bread. The ordering screen still had the previous customers order, but I figured it had been corrected. I was distracted by all the coffee spilled when I got my order I didn't think to check the bread. Imagine my disappointment when I opened the bag to find banana bread. You have ONE job. Hooray for the puppaccino! Thanks SO much to the Starbucks team for making me, my mom, and my fur baby happy! This location's drive-thru service is always very busy, and the line can get very long, especially when there is a special, like the "buy one, get one free." That said, the team usually accurately completes our order. The parking lot is shared with McDonald's mobile order pick-up, drive-thru follow-up. huge and has disabled parking. The disabled parking is right in front of the door, and there aren't stairs. There is also a large outside seating area; you may have to join a group of guys who regularly hang out there. I'd say 70% of the time when I order a cream frap they get it wrong by adding coffee or not adding the right milk. I get it every once and awhile but almost every time I go my order is wrong and when I tell the employee I get nothing but attitude Just read the ticket that's all if it says cream plz don't add coffee if it says a specific milk plz add that milk And it's not just this Starbucks it's ever one I've been to I hope Starbucks sees this and fixes it read more

I only come to this location when I get a haircut every 3-4 months at a salon in the same shopping center, lol. Granted, it is definitely one of the more busy locations due to it being a drive-through and sharing a parking spot with McDonald's. The lines are always crazy long and parking is nuts so we opt to park in the spaces across the way rather than in their actual lot. Drinks are so-so. I always ask for light ice but never really get it. Service has always been just okay for me. Nothing stellar. But again, they are very busy so I'll chalk it up to that. But definitely not friendly...at least to me. Always do a mobile order as service can be slower than other Starbucks I've frequented. That way you can run your errands and pop in when it's convenient for you with usually no wait vs. going into the store and ordering from the register. Meh. 3 stars. read more

Being my neighborhood Starbucks and a place a frequent to pick up an Venti Black Iced Tea it disappoints me to lower my rating of this Starbucks. However, although they make a good iced tea, they service on my last three visit has not been very friendly. Once okay, someone is having a bad day, next day again, well that is not cool, but then the third day, that's just wrong. Ok, I'm sure folks only review the big companies when they want to complain. But this is my fav Starbucks location. The kids working here first of all work very hard. This is a super busy store. I see all manner of customers sometimes complaining about their coffee, which always makes me laugh. If you don't like it this group will simply re make whatever you want. Starbucks mgmt NEEDS to pay more attention to this location. Every day, the order is either wrong or not adequate. For the prices you charge, we should not be receiving COLD grilled cheese sandwiches, when I stood at the counter for 10 minutes and waited for it and received it barely warm. Yesterday I ordered a cheese danish, they told me they were out of them and offered the raspberry one instead, so I agreed. I waited over 10 minutes for a Frappuccino and a danish. Guy literally handed me a cheese danish! I said you told me you were out of them, he shrugged his shoulders and said do you want it? ‍ the wait at this location is extremely long even with six employees working. I tried bringing it to their attention that they were not blending the Frappuccino's all the way girl looked at me sideways and couldn't understand what I was talking about even though I tried to explain it to her three times. I'm sad to have to report such a sub par rating when this is my local Starbucks. However it seems like there is ALWAYS something wrong when we visit. Last time I ordered 1 drink on the app. Gave me a ready time, I arrived on the dot.... And stood there for over 20 minutes. Things happen, I get it, but NO ONE there even addresses everyone waiting. I don't plan to wait 20 minutes at this Starbucks even if I had not ordered on the app.... So this was a bit ridiculous. Yesterday I visited again, I ordered on the app and went through the drive through. There was only one car and again I was right on the dot. I waited at the window for 6 minutes past the "ready time" and again was not addressed about the wait. When I received my drink, it wasn't even full!! For $7 I expect a full drink. As much as this sucks for me to do but this one interaction will do it for me to initiated a baf review. This is my neighbor work Starbucks literally 2 mins from me Mon- Fri so I am I regular. This morning (Saturday) I went to this location as I normally would if in the area and asked for a cup a water and was declined. Told me that had a new policy (implemented 2 months ago) that requires a purchases to obtain a cup of water. I'm all about policies since I too am in administration myself so I was not trying to give him a hard time. I did inform Alec (Supervisor) that I was pregnant and if I could please have the water that I really needed it. He stood firm and declined. I took his name and left without water. Mind you I was requesting water as I was on my way to do a fasting pregnancy lab that is not the most pleasant. Ice water truly helps me with nausea which was the case the last time I attempt to complete the test. I was very disappointed that I wasn't able to receive my water. Again even if I wanted to, a purchase wouldn't work because I was required to be fasting for hours. Again not Starbucks or Alec's problem but very unfortunate that in my need I was declined. Wonder if I was in a state of emergency if I would been declined as well. Anyways, unfortunately I will not be an active customer moving forward. If I wasn't pregnant this wouldn't matter but I am very disappointed that I wasn't accommodated. read more

I enjoy this location and the staff is super friendly BUT the hours are confusing and inconsistent. Online says they close at 9:30pm, on one door a sign says they close at 9:00pm, on the other door it says 8:00pm, and today when I was there they closed at 7:00pm. The location is great but the parking is terrible, the drive thru is the pits because it takes FOREVER as I've been here multiple times in the AM before work and waited up to 15 min :(. So if you have an additional 30 min to spare then take your chances. I go to the one off Chase instead because they are more efficient. This location bothers me to have a drive thru and it take that much time and Nobody there ever apologize for the delay. I don't get it... The inside is huge, thy have a large outside patio and I like the decor especially the nice touch with the employees pics!!!! Update 09/27/2019 four stars- I still know that parking and the drive thru is pits but use the mobile order to get in and out. Only thing that sucks is while the coffee was hot, the breakfast sandwich was like warm but the time I got there which was in like 5 min from placing my order. When ordering in person it's hot which is my preference with regards eggs and chorizo. Initial review below: I like the flavors added to my coffee so I'd say almost anything with vanilla and caramel are great additions. They have good breakfast sandwiches such as the spicy chorizo and the sausage!!!! The multigrain and cinnamon bagel toasted with butter is a fav!!!! Love their holiday selections but I don't know about this cherry stuff they are advertising now. They need to have samples of that. read more

Same problem all the Starbucks have, they can't get your drink right but have the nerve to guilt you in to a tip before they screw up your drink. Service is great and efficient but don't sit outside unless you want to smell like a chimney, there is a group of old people here every day we have started referring to as the cancer brigade, they smoke on the patio right by the doors (illegal in most states) and the few who don't wander somewhere upwind and smoke out the entire patio, I tend to sit at patios because I have a dog with me usually but I bring him inside here and people who don't like it can deal wit because I'd prefer to not get cancer for being considerate. read more
