This is a great spot if you want to enjoy a coffee and a pastry while you get some work done! The staff are friendly and the food and drinks are wonderful. My favorite pastry is the spinach and feta croissant. I cannot recall which drink I got last, but when I received it, it was not quite sweet enough. When I told the staff, they were super receptive and offered to give me some more sweetener. Later in the same day, I came back for another round of coffee and got another pastry. So happy to find today this little piece of OB in El Cajon today! I went to work to a nearby school and needed a quick coffee. Between Starbucks and no chain, the choice is obvious. Cafe Bella is big yet cozy and love the drive through with that fun cardboard giant açai bowl or smoothie. Too fun for selfies. My capuccino was perfect. Will try the food another day. Found this coffee shop when my girl gang went to another coffee shop nearby only to find out that one didn't have seating. Upon walking in, we were warmly greeted by everyone and when we informed them it was our first time, they welcomed us and said they were prepared to answer any questions we had. This menu is so great as it has something for everyone from sweet to savory. Our drinks were perfectly blended and not too sweet, yet still felt wonderfully indulgent. The music was perfect volume to carry on a conversation but also provide atmosphere. Overall this was such a great visit and we will definitely all be back to try the other menu items! read more

I had a custom one with a hint of pomegranate syrup it was delicious! I love how accommodating they were. I've been working in El Cajon for a while and can't believe I didn't know about this hidden gem. I love their Vietnamese coffee! It's the only place that I know of that sells near my work and its so good. I went today and ordered to go a Vietname Coffee and an Everything Bagel with egg, bacon, cheese and cream cheese. It was so good and the girl at the window was so nice and patient with me. They have other items as well but this is usually what I order. My partner and I typically go here a few times a week and get the same coffee with oat milk. The last few times they've either put whole milk instead of oat milk into her coffee or made an "iced" latte that is room temperature. It's strange because they read you back the order at the window too. It pains me to write this because we love this coffee shop and want to support a smaller chain instead of Starbucks. It seems like there might be a newer staff that are making mistakes . We'll probably give it a few more tries before finding a new place to get coffee. read more

I was looking for a local spot for a good Vietnamese coffee. This place was nice, clean and a wide variety of drinks other than coffee. Also has a good selection of food and snacks. The coffee they used for the Vietnamese was good - probably not robusta beans but a good arabica type. I'll come thru again to get a bite and same another drink. This was my first time here and I got a small iced vanilla chai latte and a jalapeno cheddar bagel with cream cheese. Both were pretty good! The girl who took my order at the drive thru had the sweetest voice and just made me feel so welcome. I only wish the drink just had a bit more flavor or sweetness to it as I tasted the milk more than i'd have liked, but that's just my preference! The barista even asked me if regular milk was okay so it's no fault to anyone but my own :) It seems like a quaint locally owned business so I was happy to support! read more

First timer - Ordered a hot medium matcha with whip. I was given an iced. Simple mistake not a big deal. He apologized and that he'll remake it. I said it's okay and tried to give the drink. Super great customer service, respectful, welcoming, warm even the cashier the same. What was horrible was after that, the worker next to him took it away and was mad and rude. Like what the hell? It's my first time and this is the impression you give as if I made the mistake? I even apologized to the worker who remade it because I know how it feels outside and inside looking in as employee and as a customer idk what's your problem but you made my experience. Lots of gluten and dairy free options here! I got an açaí bowl with vegan protein powder. Protein powder changes the taste of açaí bowls but if you want to up your protein, this is a nice treat. They don't have decaf coffee, but the decaf espresso was fantastic--smooth and not bitter, which is rare. My iced latte was delicious, and my friend enjoyed their hot latte too. The last croissant we almost bought was wrapped in plastic and would therefore have been soggy. A cappuccino had far too much milk. It was really a latte. The Americano was weak. They have coffeemate not milk or half and half. Service was slow, nearly 15 minutes. They have a drive-thru. I've been coming to this location since they opened and never had a bad experience till recently. I went through drive thru and ordered an ice soy chai latte and a cheese danish. The person taking my order was the manager/owner. I tried my drink and it was clearly not what I had ordered. Long story short I get off and go inside and politely told the manager that my drink was wrong. I was given espresso and milk. He gave me the nastiest look, rolled his eyes and threw the drink in the trash THEN starts questioning me about what I ordered (I come strictly for the SAME drink every single time). I don't even drink coffee. He demands the barista to make my new drink and walks away. The barista was very kind and apologetic even though it wasn't her fault. The "manager" is completely disrespectful, he should be embarrassed to be speaking to customers like that, let alone a female. I was having a really rough start today and the customer service was quick and so genuinely pleasant that it really just turned my whole mood around. So thank you, sir! I ordered the california bagel sandwich on an everything bagel. It had Turkey, avo, bacon, tomato, and sunflower seeds. Didn't look like much but it was so bomb. Bagel was perfectly toasted and the bacon was warm and crispy. Definitely worth the $11 for me. For my drink I ordered the ice blended matcha. I've never had matcha with banana before, but it really works well with this drink. I thought the banana brought out the earthy flavor of the matcha while adding a touch of sweetness. Overall, I'm really happy with my experience here today and looking forward to coming back. read more
