I had such a great experience at Shaghf Café! The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and the service was outstanding from start to finish. A special thank you to Olivea, Monica, and Noska, who made my visit even better. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They made me a pistachio frappé exactly the way I wanted it, and it was honestly one of the best I've ever had--rich, creamy, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. It's rare to find a café with both amazing drinks and exceptional customer service, but Shaghf Café definitely delivers on both. Rude staff and a very disappointing experience. My friend ordered a Lotus frappe, and unfortunately, it was not good at all. It tasted more like crushed cookies than an actual frappe, and she was literally chewing on pieces of ice. Since we've ordered the Lotus frappe here before and it was perfectly fine, we figured this was simply an issue with how the drink was made this time. I politely asked if the drink could be remade as a caramel frappe instead, since we knew that one was good. Instead, we were told, "We can't do that, you would have to pay." I'm sorry, but why would we pay again for a drink that was made poorly the first time? We weren't asking for a free drink just because we changed our minds. We were asking for the original drink to be corrected because it was genuinely not drinkable. What really made the situation worse was being told, "We're not a chain like Starbucks to just remake drinks... this will go to waste." Respectfully, if the concern is that the drink will "go to waste," perhaps the better solution would be to make sure the drink is prepared correctly in the first place. I understand that businesses don't want to waste product, but making a customer pay for another drink after receiving one that was poorly made doesn't exactly feel like great customer service either. I'm not expecting the "customer is always right" treatment, and I'm certainly not trying to be difficult. But when a customer genuinely cannot enjoy what they were served, the reasonable thing would be to offer a solution rather than essentially tell them, "Sorry, pay again." We've had good experiences here before, which is why this was especially disappointing. Hopefully this was just an off day, because the way this was handled left a much worse taste than the frappe did. read more

The drinks were decent - the coconut latte is definitely very coconut which was good in my opinion! the date latte was very unique... I would probably go for a different set next time since there are so many options! Inside, there is Arabic music and a very standard place for a cafe and yap. The coffee menu and the dessert looks so good!! We tried the red velvet and tiramisu coffee. The coffee is not too sweet and taste delicious!! We didn't get a dessert this time as our coffee is a dessert itself . Service was quick.. there's a couple customer hanging out enjoying their coffee. The place is pretty spacious and super clean. Found this place on Yelp and would 100% recommend. Their açaí bowl is one of the best I've ever had. I love ice cream texture consistency with açaí and they had that. They also added Nutella topping which I was skeptical at first for fear of being too sweet, but it was perfect. The service was friendly and the ambiance felt upscale and picturesque. My wife and I came and got a coffee I got an iced decaf coffee with oat milk and it was awesome. My wife got an iced pistachio latte. They make their own pistachio cream and it is very tasty. I was pleased to find it wasn't too sweet. It's a little hard to drink through a straw. Service was good and the place was clean. I visited in the evening time and was delightfully surprised to see a bunch of women of all ages spending quality time together in the cafe on a Friday evening! The place is a beautifully decorated ambiance with a peaceful and friendly atmosphere! They offer a variety of espresso based beverages and refreshers, not to mention frappes, but I decided on a iced pistachio latte simply because it sounded good, and good it was. Actually, it tasted great. I liked the flavor of the coffee. The coffee actually comes from Dubai and it is a great roast. The flavor of the coffee was up front and personal and delicious. The pistachio was more subtle and offered hints of it towards the end. It was very well balanced in my opinion. I hear that it is as delicious hot. They offer a melee of delicious looking desserts, acai bows, and pastries. There's a good amount of comfortable inside seating. The service was very friendly. Super friendly staff and plenty of parking. I went on a Saturday morning right when they opened, and it wasn't too busy. I had a latte and a pistachio croissant, which was really good--not overly sweet, just the right balance. The vibe was really cool too. The only thing I'd suggest improving is the cutlery; the plastic knife and fork made it a bit tricky to cut the croissant. Other than that, I'd definitely recommend this spot! read more

We only had two coffees and shared a pistachio croissant so consider the rating a mere estimate. The capp and Americano were very good. The croissant was very large, covered with pistachio sweet cream and a sprinkle of chopped pistachios. At first it was too sweet for my taste but it grew on me. The place is comfortable and fairly busy. The woman who took orders at the counter doubled as the server. The coffees and food arrived slightly slower than expected out of the kitchen. Another customer came over to inquire in a friendly way if we, obviously not Arabs, were enjoying it and describing his own long journey from Bagdad to Europe to Canada to Oracle San Jose and US citizenship. I am so happy that I found this super clean, beautiful and luxurious looking coffee shop in El Cajón! I come now to this east county town pretty often for interpreting jobs and finding this place was amazing. The pastries are so luxurious looking too! They have delicacies like the Dubai croissant, with pistachio, chocolate, and croquant filling. The drinks are on point. I really like the moka (I like my drinks served in those cute calligraphy cups instead of huge mugs). I liked the color theme, the light coming in from outside highlighted the black so the place didn't seem so dim and dark, if that makes sense. I had the Habibi Latte. The taste was a bit strong for me but I enjoyed it once the ice melted a bit. Phase note that although the taste was a bit strong, I could tell for those that truly enjoy stronger tastes, it would be perfect therefore it didn't impact my rating. I had something new. I had the Lotus crepe. The thickness of lotus cream threw me off. Once I adjusted, I enjoyed the crepe alternating bananas and strawberries. The crepe itself was my favorite because I don't like the crepes crunchy or overly cooked. The texture was soft and moist. This place is still in its opening stages but it's gorgeous inside and all the people working there were very sweet. I ordered a pistachio iced latte and a Dubai croissant, both of which were to die for. The prices are on the higher end but I felt like it was worth it for sure. The ingredients were yummy and well thought out. There's definitely no cutting corners here and I appreciate that. I can't wait to go back and try their other drinks and desserts!
