Came on a weekday. There was one person waiting on their order and one person in front of us in line. As I approached the window to order, before greeting us or even giving us the opportunity to speak, the man told us he wasn't going to take our order and if we wanted to order when HE was ready to hang out nearby. So incredibly distasteful. I can understand if you are busy (there were literally 2 people there) , you can let your customers know it's going to be a wait but I have never experienced someone just refusing to take out order and to just wait on him until he was ready to take it. If I could rate this 0/5 I would. The man working there was completely out of line raising his voice from when I walked up to the window. He was very rude off the start and all I was trying to do was try out his açai bowls (what by the way were the worse açaí bowls I have ever tried). When I asked a simple question about his bowls, he started getting annoyed and trying to belittle me. I ignored this at first and proceeded to order my bowl. When I was given the bowl after an excess amount of time it took to make it it was runny and the fruits was mushy. After two bites, I threw it in the trash because of how horrible it tasted. He saw me do this and made a snarky remark about how I was wasting food and how I wasted his time. I would never recommend this to anyone. Significantly better than expected. Santee vibes with Carmel Mountain quality. The BNB toast is so good. BNB gives you a full avocado across two pieces of wheat toast. The seasoning they add is great as well, tastes similar to everything bagel from trader joes. The smoothies here are solid. Taste like they're blended from frozen berries but it works. Protip! Not everyone is a regular and knows the process. You did not have to be rude about it. The worst customer service I have had in a while and after reading reviews it seems like I'm not the only one. I am only giving 2 starts bc the cold brew is good so I'll give him that. I think it's about time for some self reflection and meditation dude and maybe a few hospitality courses. The most aggressive masculine energy you will feel just trying to order a coffee. Had it a long time ago when it first opened and the staff was great, now no staff and just ran by the manager. I have a ton of empathy for small businesses as I work for one myself and used to be a barista, but I had to walk away for how aggressively rude he was taking my order, I politely walked away and he yelled at me in the parking lot telling me that it's people like me who don't understand and support small businesses and expressed that he runs the place alone. No wonder his staff left if that's the vibe he's bringing. I'm shocked that so many people have had such a bad experience here! I love coming here. I appreciate his organic ingredients and prefer his bowls because the acai base and peanut butter have no sugar added. This is why his prices are higher, you get what you pay for. My kids always love the bee pollen and unsweetened coconut flakes. Competitors such as Lean Bean have great bowls as well, but there's extra sugar in them that I prefer not to serve to my kids if I can help it. He's always been attentive whether I order through the app or walk up and order. Convenience is nice but he is always polite and communicates well. This place is my "treat yourself" place because the avocado toast is sooo good! He somehow always gets the creamiest avocado and it's literally a big whole avocado. I enjoy the açaí bowl over Lean Bean because it's so fresh and doesn't taste like frozen juice. I believe other places I've tried like lean bean just don't have the same quality. I placed a takeout order and tipped owner $0.50 and he gave me my $.50 back and told me it was disrespectful for for me to only tip him $.50 (on a TAKEOUT order where there was no chairs to sit or extra service provided) , and proceeded to say I'm the reason that his business is going under. I was so appalled that I didn't say anything and tried to walk away quietly and in shock but he proceeded to tell me he should have let my car get towed from the last visit that I was there(When I was a customer twice within the hour). He proceeded to say "why are you looking at me like I said something crazy", and as I stayed silent, then he decided to start cussing and yelling as I walked away. Definitely felt like it was an unsafe situation and needed to get out of there as I did not do anything to escalate the situation, but it kept escalating. I decided to stop by here for the very first time after living in Santee for the past 15 years. I reviewed the menu and decided upon an açai bowl custom made, and the go buff smoothie which contained cold brew coffee. when I went to the counter, the guy ( who initially abruptly stopped me from walking in the door, I thought it was a restaurant) told me he'd help me at the window, which was fine, so he met me at the window took my order. I asked him if the go buff with the cold brew in it was in fact the coffee and he said yes and wanting to only hear himself talk, he tried to explain to me what cold brew was ( which I was well aware of and that wasn't my question ) obviously misunderstanding me. I informed him that I knew what cold brew was, and went ahead and thought I ordered the smoothie. He then asked me if I wanted a smaller or large. I said I'll start with a small. well obviously after him presenting me with just a small cold brew coffee it became apparent communication Was confused between he and I. , I informed him that that's not what I wanted (very politely by the way, ) he immediately got hostile telling me that's what I ordered. That's what I wanted and I said he said it's four dollars more for the go buff "you never said go buff" and proceeded to scream loudly in front of a customer outside insistent on Arguing with me about who said what and how I was wrong and he was right about the miscommunication of the order??? REALLY?? Doesn't matter who is right and who is wrong, and it is really inappropriate AND unprofessional to scream across the parking lot at a customer... especially one who was ready and willing to pay the extra 4 dollars for your misunderstanding. I kept telling him I don't wanna argue with you. I'll pay the money and then as he continued to ramble on about how "thats not what You said!" Finally, bored and irritated at this wacko, I told him " tell you what, keep the cold brew. I'll take my bowl and I won't ever be back here again. So as I was walking to my car he was screaming out the window at the other customer trying to solicit her support for is outburst, and then he looked at me and was screaming at me and waving his hands out from the window, ( I was a good 20 feet From my car where i was in the parking lot) yet he continued screaming and yelling and screaming (wherever nonsense he was saying ) so I yelled back.. This is just review for their VietNow coffee. The menu description did say it was their take on the Vietnamese coffee but it definitely is not true Vietnamese coffee. The condense milk was just a drizzle around the sides of the cup. It lacked the milky and rich sweetness that condensed milk would have given this coffee. The coffee itself was good, really buzzy good but basically the experience and taste was just that....slightly sweetened coffee...I added more sweet at home. I was about to open a can of condensed milk but I didn't want to waste opening a new can just for a tablespoon or two. Suggestion is to put a layer of the condensed milk at the bottom and then drizzle on the sides. read more

I had the Minty Cold Brew here via the recommendation of the young lady who was working the day of my visit. It was a good drink and she put a good ration of liquid to ice in the cup. The beverage definitely was minty in a good way. Perhaps it was a little to minty but not by much. It really reminded me of a "mojito." Not that there's anything wrong with that. This is my second time coming here and I've ordered a coffee and then this time I ordered a smoothie. The coffee I had was really good however pretty overpriced. I recently tried the spirit 59 smoothie and there was no taste whatsoever. The only thing I could kind of taste was the spinach. It was a bummer because I couldn't even taste any fruit or sweetness. It looks like I'm not the only one who has been taken back by the owners reactive behavior...I used to come here all the time and never had a problem but today I came to the window to order 15 minutes before they closed. The owner was walking out the door and abruptly stated that they were closed at 3. With confusion, I simply commented that it was 245pm and he brushed me off and while walking away angrily commented "yeah well, we are short staffed" I was stunned,I have never been brushed off like that as a customer. Naturally I'll never come back here and I'll be sure to spread the word. After reading the other comments (I am a mental health counselor) I'm concerned that he has an untreated mental health disorder and it's just a matter of time before things escalate.
