If you're someone who collects the "been there" series of little mugs, or lives off of Starbucks coffee nothing will stop you from getting your fix here. The line was not the worst, especially for an airport Starbucks. But the service was lacking and one of few places where the cashier and person I picked up the drink from were visually bleh and looked unfriendly. The young lady I got my drink from had a mean look on her face but maybe she has RBF and doesn't know it. I got a mini mug that I collect for my mom and a little hot cocoa. When the cashier asked if I wanted whipped cream I was like "oh yeah, that'd be awesome." Well the cocoa was simply not good and lacked any sweetness. Incredibly slow line. Only 5 or 6 people in it but it took my spouse 30 minutes to get me a water bottle because making the drinks for the people ahead of him was slow as molasses. I wouldn't bother to leave a review, except that my friend Mei left a review for here last year also saying how incredibly slow it is. So they either need more staff or some better training. Starbucks in the Airport is always busy. Nonstop! I recognize good work when I see it. These ladies are efficient and always smiling. Just role modeling hospitality. They call me by name. They distinguish whether your order is mobile so you know it's yours. This tremendously helps work accuracy and reducing the chance of creating upset customers. The food is always hot. Starbucks at Kahului Airport on the Island of Maui ... On my way home to Honolulu from Las Vegas, I had a stopover at Kahului Airport. Because I had about an hour between flights, I thought that I may as well take a look at the merchandise in Starbucks (as I passed by on my way to the departure gate). To my surprise, ALL of the newly released tumblers were on the shelf! I wasn't expecting to see them because they had arrived on November 4th and today was the 6th of November! I went to three Starbucks in Las Vegas and only found one of the seasonal tumblers. OMG! The ENTIRE collection was here on Maui before my eyes! I was in shock! My next thoughts were: Should I buy them ALL ??? Will they fit in my hand carries??? Should I buy any for anyone else??? Here are the answers to the above questions: I talked to myself into getting them all because they are so rare. Hawaiian Airlines is usually nice about extra carry-on bags. I posted photos on the Facebook page for Starbucks tumbler collectors. I couldn't carry all of the goods at one time, so I grabbed a few and put them on the side of the cashier several times. I told the people standing in line that I'm going to the back of the line after I finish gathering the merchandise. Haha! When I got to the nice cashier, I asked her if I would be able to use my Stars towards the merchandise. She wasn't sure, and she said she will attempt it. Whew!!! The transaction went through! I was able to redeem 400 Starbucks Stars towards $19.95 worth of merchandise!!! Yippee!!! I grabbed my packages and went to a nearby bench to shuffle my cups into my two carry-on bags. It all squeezed in perfectly! When I got to my gate, I looked at my Facebook messages and saw that someone in Honolulu wanted a small collectible ornament. I ran back to Starbucks made my purchase and scurried back to my gate where boarding had begun already. Long story short: I met my new Facebook friend at Windward Mall in Kaneohe where she gave me a finder's fee for the Starbucks ornament! What a nice surprise! She said she could have bought it online for $40, but instead, she paid me $20 for a $10.38 purchase! Awesome! Thank you! She was really happy because she had been looking for this ornament for a while! The moral of the story is: Good deeds get rewarded! Another lesson learned: schedule a layover on a neighbor Island and look for a Starbucks at the airport... And make sure to save some space in the carry-on bags for unplanned purchases! read more

Starbucks in Maui Airport We had a long layover in Maui then an additional 2-hour delay on top of that (one hour of it was spent when we were already on board the plane) so we had a lot of down time in the airport, not exactly the way I'd like to spend what little vacay time I had left in Maui. This was the only Starbucks located in the Kahului Airport [OGG] and because of that the line was always long. It was everything you would expect from a Starbucks and then some with a cheery "Aloha" sign on a small chalkboard "from your Kahului Airport baristas" to their friendly service. They try to get you out of there quickly so you can be on your merry way. Got me The Impossible Breakfast Burger with my Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino and I was a happy camper. I think this is the only Starbucks at this gates, so make sure as soon as you pass TSA you place your order online. It will be ready for pick up. Staff is working non stop for the long line. So get everything ordered. Don't forget to bring your stainless water bottle and fill it up with ice water from Starbucks!! Being practically the only thing open besides the newsstand if you arrive on the first flight in, they pretty much have the monopoly on coffee and light items to eat. The restaurant and food concessions open much later. This day in particular the line was ridiculously LONG yet people who know the quality of their products would join that long line. The brewed or shaken beverages are made to order which contributes to the sluggishly slow decrease in the line's formation yet was worth the wait. Great location in the Rotunda of Maui Airport Terminal if departing or arriving from a flight and they do have couple of tables and chairs for you to sit for a moment and enjoy your cup of coffee or tea. The set up with your single line and displays of grab n go snack items , oh and don't forget to pick up a souvenir MAUI LOGO MUG , the cold case filled with water , sandwiches , salads , yogurt and many more. Baristas serving up coffee with a smile , also filled my hydro flask with iced water MAHALO. Every time I have a long flight ahead, I have a habit of staying up all night and so caffeine is always in order by the time I get to the airport. I need a bit of a pick-me-up and this Starbucks is right on your left of the escalator when you get to the 2nd floor. It's one of the first things you see before you head to your gate. Super convenient, right? I'll usually get a frappuccino, sometimes a pastry, and in the past have ordered a sandwich if I was super hungry. I found that my drinks are usually a hit and miss. This last time, my drink tasted more like ice than coffee. No bueno! The pastries are ok, but sometimes dried out. The sandwiches, eh. Nothing really to write home about. I would skip it honestly unless you're really hungry! The lines can get really long and it can take a while before you get your drink. So, I would just be mindful of your flight time/boarding time. You're at the airport so your caffeine choices are pretty limited! Overall, it does the job if you need something to get you through your flight, but I wouldn't expect too much. read more

Service is horrible. I stood in line a long time, ordered, and watched as they ignored my order and made the drinks for customers who came after me. They were clearly friends as they were talking story the whole time. I finally asked when they would get to mine and then asked where i could find their info to Yelp them. Apparently this was very upsetting to her. I got an eye roll and the straw tossed in my direction. If anyone had told me I would be able to find a Starbucks at an airport where there was no line, friendly baristas and plenty of seating, I would've said that was a lovely unicorn to chase, thank you very much. But here it is! Disclaimer: there are several Starbucks locations in this airport, so I may be reviewing the wrong one, but from where I'm sitting this one is amazing! My latte came out perfectly, and so did my sous vide egg bites. Piping hot, not soggy. There are seat to ceiling windows so you can see weather conditions outside. Nine little bar tables with built-in benches along the walls and barstools are mostly empty. Old school jazz and blues (a la Ella Fitzgerald) is playing in the background. It's Sunday, so maybe that's the reason for less traffic, but it's truly laid-back Hawaii style as compared to any place in Honolulu airport. (The only drawback I can see is that there aren't any outlets or charging stations.) The time I have to kill between flights is going to be devoted to relaxing and destressing with a tasty snack rather than being consumed trying to find a spot to perch uncomfortably in a crowd of fellow travelers. Few hours later around 545 my stomach was cramping so badly I had to run to the restroom. While the coldness of the drink was refreshing, the coffee was diluted from cream, but no chocolate, and lacked flavor as a result. I expected my usual drink to cost more at an airport but I didn't expect the girl making my drink to only fill up the cup 3/4ths of the way ? I seriously watched this girl pour the rest of the amount she made into another cup for herself. I paid $6 for my drink which usually only costs me $4 so I especially want my money's worth and my cup full haha. The other girl who was working the register was very nice but the one making my drink seemed like she was having the worst day and had such attitude which made this situation more irritating.
