    Oh so delicious
    Michelle S.

I'm so hay I got Maui Specialty Chocolates Today. I got then as a gift. This is not my first time trying then but first time to review them. Oooooh how much i love mochi. These are the bomb. Com is so delicious. I put them in the refrigerator when I got home I kinda like them cold. So when I bit into my first bite I was in heaven. They're so delicious. The chocolate was perfectly sweet. It has a little crunchy which made then even better! So go get you some mochi from this place. You'll definitely be happy you stopped by.

Thanks to the website and reviews that warn of mochi running out, I emailed to place my order a few days before we arrived on Maui for the weekend. True enough, when we showed up at just a little past noon on Saturday, the Dark Chocolate Truffle ones have sold out. A good amount of Peanut Butter Milk Chocolate ones were still available. I didn't order any so the kid got a 5-pc box to sample. I also picked up two Candy Cane Dark Chocolate gift bags as omiyage. The total damage was $147.44 including what I ordered via email: two 12-pc Dark Chocolate Truffles, two Rocky Road boxes, and four Kona Coffee Chocolates. We dug into the PBMC mochis right away. The mochi hype is accurate! Everything was just right: the softness, the chewiness, the sweetness. I didn't order the PBMC mochi because I don't like Reese's and I thought it'd be like that, but it's not! The PB is chunky which I like, I don't really taste the milk chocolate though, and that's ok. The PB is a little creamier and sweeter. I hope the chocolates are as good as the mochis! I also hope the mochis survive the flight back to O'ahu tomorrow night! The shop is located in Wakea Business Center. It's a simple set up but brightly lit. Everything is neatly displayed and clearly labeled. Lots of parking. Amex not accepted. Closed on Sundays. Edit: sampled the Dark Chocolate Truffle Mochi today (the next day). The mochi is still soft, the chocolate truffle filling is creamy. Interestingly enough, I think I actually prefer the peanut butter one. Overall 4.5 stars.

Looking for snacks to bring home (Omiyage) came across Maui Specialty Chocolates. Right in Kahului back roads on Wakea Ave . The merchandise table had all kinds of Mochi. From peanut butter & chocolate mochi, Azuki Mochi and also chocolate dip Oreo cookies . I seen chocolate macadamia w/ rice crispy and marshmallows. That sounds good so I purchased 2 boxes . There was hardly customer service around , only a gentleman behind the register and a girl re-stocking merchandise. Support local

Small little shop with a bunch of really cool desserts the workers inside were all really nice and friendly with smiles on their faces. They gave our little one a cool sticker. There's lots of different mochi flavors and different types of chocolates as well. The dark chocolate truffle mochi is absolutely insane. The inside is almost like a pudding texture, and the flavor is very chocolatey and ganache. The red bean one is pretty good too, but I can't stop thinking about that dark chocolate truffle.

A must stop for anytime you visit Maui. These are the best mochi. Made fresh daily and they are so soft with delicious filling, not too sweet. Gotta come early or call in the day before to place your order as they run out quickly. The peanut butter chocolate is a must try! A nice grab and go spot for other chocolates as well. A great local spot to support.

Haven't been to Maui for over 30 years so when we planned this one day fly-in fly-out trip, the 2 places I wanted to go to was Maui Ocean Center and this place. My former co-worker used to always bring back their Peanut Butter & Milk Chocolate Mochi for me so this place was a must to visit. Since they close at 5pm, we called in our order early afternoon just in case but even then, they ran out of the Azuki mochi :-( When we picked up our order around 4pm, their mochi was sold out. Sooooo glad we called early but not early enough for the Azuki. I was so focused on only buying the mochi that now, looking at my pics of the inside, they had a lot of goodies but I didn't walk around to look at them...shucks! IF there is another time I visit Maui, I will definitely look at them! The workers are very nice and friendly and the store was clean and spacious! FYI: - Lots of parking - Found out they don't make too much of the Azuki Mochi so if you want it, you should order it in the morning. - The mochi does mold fast so if you're not planning to eat it the day you pick up, freeze it. Found out not too long ago...if you wrap the mochi with Saran Wrap, store it in a Ziploc freezer bag. When you're ready to eat, leave it out to defrost for maybe 15-20 minutes. The mochi will be soft just like the first day...so yummy!

My niece and her boyfriend had a mini vacation away from Honolulu. Took their little boy also. They stay at a air BNB in Kihei. Dropped them off and picked them up and she bought back 2 kind of mochi. Peanut butter and Azuki mochi. It was very fresh and soft. The peanut butter inside had finely chopped peanuts as well as creamy peanut butter. The azuki mochi was red bean filling. Both was good. But I prefer the azuki mochi better. The peanut butter mochi had lots of finely chopped peanuts. Both of them was fresh and soft. Thank you to my niece and her boyfriend for bringing this back for us.

I picked up my neice at the Daniel K Inouye airport and was rewarded with mochi from Maui Specialty and Chocolate. She gave me the Red Azuki Bean and a tray of Peanut Butter Chocolate. Both were very good. Will put this place on my to do list when I'm in Maui. Enjoy

Contrary to what the name suggests, don't sleep on their fresh-made mochi! If you come later in the day they may sell out, so I'd highly recommend giving them a call either the day before or morning of. We got the red bean and peanut butter/milk chocolate mochis. The peanut butter/milk chocolate really surprised me because I was expecting it to be way too sweet, but it was a nice balance of the sweetness of the milk chocolate with the nuttiness of the PB. The mochi was super soft and you can tell it's fresh! I wanted to try the dark chocolate truffle, but knew I wouldn't be able to eat them all in time.

I think this might be my first yelp review outside of California! We were on a family vacation and naturally I looked up places where I could find a tasty treat suitable for a tourist lol. We've ventured out to this shop and as unassuming as it appeared on the outside, it surely blew my socks off! I appreciated the cute little touches of art like the mochi poster in front of the store that my kiddos could take a picture in front of. They also provided my children mochi stickers which I greatly appreciated. We arrived a few minutes before opening, and there were already shoppers inside, so if you want to ensure that you got your mochi, go ahead and show up maybe even 10 minutes before opening to ensure you get first dibs. We purchased the bean filled one, the chocolate truffle filled one, and the chocolate and peanut butter one. Out of the three, the chocolate truffle was my absolute favorite. The emoji was chewing and fresh, the chocolate rich And delicious. They managed to not make this excessively sweet, which I appreciated the peanut butter and chocolate one was also quite delicious but a little on the richer end and would be suitable for sharing. We also purchased a few chocolates for souvenirs so I was not able to try the chocolates they sold, but I am sure they are also quite delicious. I am curious to find out if they shipped to the mainland because since being back I have been in desperate need of those chocolate truffle emojis lol. Definitely make this a stop on your vacation, or if you're lucky enough to be a local definitely make your way here!

    So good and so fresh!

Wondering if I can hand carry these on the plane?

I've purchased mochi from Maui Specialty Chocolates, & hand carried it back to Oahu without any issues from the TSA officers check point.

Are there dairy free mochi's here? EDIT: Yes, only the red bean azuki mochi?

They do not have frozen ice cream mochi. I believe most of their mochi's are dairy free. Best to go online and contact them for answer.

When holidays, birthdays, special occasions roll around, Lee Bear is such a great place to find an assortment of goodies for friends and loved ones. Their gift baskets are filled with treats like candies, Maui Cookkwees, gourmet cookies and rice krispies that have been dipped in a rich, decadent chocolate coating; freshly hand-dipped in their store to ensure high quality flavor. My favorite is the white chocolate covered pretzels with rice krispies, marshmallows, etc. SO good. It's the first thing I call dibs on when I see it. Haha! Just recently, I stopped in when my little one suggested we make lollipops. They had a wide selection of molds, gel food coloring, candy thermometer, basically everything and anything we needed. They even sold the white chocolate covered rice krispy treat by the package! It's a bit of a splurge, but I like what I like and will pay for it... lol. When we checked out, the lady (I'm assuming the owner?) asked us if we've made lollipops before and offered up so many tips and hacks. She answered all of our questions and even provided a mini recipe book that she suggested we keep as they don't make them anymore. I was really impressed, but not really surprised, with the quality of their customer service. That's what I love about mom and pop shops and the reason I will continue to support local businesses like these. Both times, I really really liked their turtle fudge. Unfortunately, they were only selling it in boxed sets and not individually. I just wanted that one flavor! The third time I saw them was when my husband & I were randomly strolling through Front Street in Lahaina. I thought to myself, "That packaging looks really familiar... Oooo, they have sweets. The girl at the counter was really friendly and informative, telling us how the fudge is all made on Maui, how they used to make everything in this tiny Lahaina shop, but now have 2 locations (another one in the Kihei Triangle). In the Kihei location, they also hold their fudge making class, which I've heard about and have been wanting to try. I had no idea it was the same company. It was all coming together! I had heard about the Maui Cookie Lady cookies in early 2016 and knew that I had to get one the next time we visited. At that time, the cookies were only available at various local markets that would get a delivery once or twice a week. There was no dedicated retail store then. In November 2016, it finally happened! I was able to find a small supply of Mitzi's, the Maui Cookie Lady's, cookies at the Market Maui (since closed). My first cookie was Da Half Baked - a chocolate chip cookie stuffed with Reese's, Snickers, AND Oreo! OMG...only a super creative cookie chef extraordinaire could have imagined such a delight! I knew that I would be a fan forever!! On every subsequent trip, I sought out the amazing cookies. It wasnʻt always easy to find them, as the batches were small and offered in very limited locations. I would be on a mission and never gave up until I found them. My friends and co-workers were always so excited when I brought them back a "world-famous Maui Cookie Lady" cookie when I returned from Maui. In late 2020, the year after my last trip to Maui, the Maui Cookie Lady opened up a retail shop in Makawao. I haven't been able to stop by in person yet, but I will be going the next time I visit. I tell all my friends about the cookies, and several have been able to stop by the cute shop. When I am lucky, a friend will bring back some ono cookies for me. The Maui Cookie Lady cookies are not like most of the cookies you are used to eating. The first thing that you will notice is that they are really big!! I like to say that they are "gargantuan"! The second thing is that they are made with creative ingredients that may be familiar to you, or they may be new. Many of the varieties incorporate local ingredients lilikoi, Kona coffee, and macadamia nuts. The combination of flavors will excite any cookie loverʻs taste buds. Donʻt worry if you are not local to stop by the shop in person. You can order cookies online, individually or via the monthly subscription box. If you are visiting and want to take a few home with you, know that they can be frozen and stay great when you want to enjoy them. They do not contain preservatives, which I think is a big plus. In addition to creating great cookies, Mitzi is a big supporter of the community. She helps with various fundraising efforts to help those in Maui. As a former teacher, she is connected to educators in Hawaiʻi and their special needs. Once I get back to Maui, I will visit the store and update this review. I can't wait!

While it's a bit of a turn off for me when there are no prices displayed for any of the items, I'll still support you at least one time. There was the spam only musubi and one with egg which is what left with me. Initial visual is that it's juicy because of all the space and rolled in furukaki which are both things that I love! Nice hot when it left in my hand and out the door we went. The taste is good as the sauce wasn't too salty and the rice was just right; not to hard or soft. The rice was still able to hold together and the additional furukaki was generous. Nice shop to try! Street parking was easy for us this time

I was looking for someone who could handle breakfast and lunch and he delivered beautifully -- our attendees were all thrilled with the food (and specifically mentioned it in their evaluations). We did savory breakfast shokupan + honey butter toast + drinks (cold brew coffee, matcha latte, and a butterfly pea tea) for breakfast (and Sean threw in some extra muffins for me), and a variety of bentos and a mango and a strawberry cream layer cake. He even made up a special bento for my boss who had dietary restrictions. Sean was easy to work with and quick to return my anxious phone calls, plus the prices were so amazing for the quality of food. Highly recommend for your meetings and group events on island!
