This spot is a bit hidden near the airport, tucked among a bunch of food stalls. I stopped by on my way to catch a flight and honestly wish I'd found this area sooner. The food I'd been having beforehand was pretty heavy, so it was such a relief to enjoy something light and delicious. The mochi was chewy and full of flavor, and the dipping sauces were heavenly. I'd definitely come back and check out the other food trucks too.

So I've driven past the Maika'i Market a couple of times now & finally designated a time to stop. Which I'm so glad we did, their set up is hella cute. Plus I'm always a fan of trying out new locations. Food trucks are always packed with some amazing flavors & you'll get to run into some of the coolest people. So thank you to everyone who helped contribute to my mini spur of the moment photo shoot. Not only did I enjoy all my goodies that I picked up on my first trip here. But I also enjoy being able to share these moments with others who might not have known this was here either. Dee's Poi Mochi had my Ube fix times two, Ube mochi with Ube sauce to dip in. The only way I can describe it is pure happiness. I just love the gooey texture of biting into the mochi. Plus that drip when you dip into the sauce it even has a shine to it. If I could make a request on something I'd like to try that isn't currently on the menu it would be matcha mochi & matcha dipping sauce. Until next time. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

Interesting - worth checking out. Poi Mochi are little round fried dough balls made from poi and rice flour. You dip them in a sweet glaze. Dessert item - but not overly sweet. Local business

One of the most unique desserts I've had in a long time! I've tried so many donuts, mochi donuts etc.. Worth a visit for sure!

Even the hot day when I was visiting Maui but love to have mochi and found this place. Many options for the dipping sauce, got original coconut and caramel flavored both of them were delicious. The service was excellent and friendly. Fresh made by order so have to wait a little bit but worth the wait. Crispy outside and soft inside. Perfect texture and delicious. Recommend to try strawberry flavor, it was amazing. Nice food truck area with the table and shades.

Their signature Poi Mochi was amazing to have, and all of their choices to use for dipping with it are just as flavorful - a must-have if you catch them at an event or the Sunday Night Market - Miguel Morales Photography

Super friendly lady! We did the 8 pc (ube, strawberry and poi) and an order of the fried twinkies. I would say the ube is a sure choice. The strawberry just tasted like it was strawberry candy instead of fruit strawberry. The poi was the first time I tried poi... figured fried has to be the way! It wasn't bad!

I went to visit Maui and this place was recommended by a friend so I decided to try this out. It is a food truck located by a gas station plaza and this place has a few tables so I was able to sit down and enjoy these mochis. The owner was so so sweet and explained the menu to me without even asking!! I'm so glad I did try this place because Ohohohoh this place is so good! I never had deep fried mochi until I tried this place. This is a hole in the wall spot and it was so fire! All mochis are made to order so it was hot and fresh when I got my order. I have tried all 4 flavors (Strawberry, Ube, Poi and Chocolate Brownie), and my personal favorite was the strawberry flavored! I suggest getting a guava sauce on the side because that sauce tasted sooo good w the mochis!!!! Card payment is accepted~

DELICIOUS!!! All of the mochi is made to order so everything is super fresh. Ordered poi, ube, lychee mochi with white chocolate coconut, POG, and ube sauce - all of it was amazing. Definitely check this place out if you're in town!

Deep fried Oreos so good. Can never go wrong with that. The mochi was also tasty! The I've mochi actually didn't have much flavor to it but the dipping sauce provided the flavor. Nice little snack to share.

I tried poi mochi for the first time at the Maui County Fair a.k.a. Maui Fair years ago and always made sure to stop by the booth even if it means waiting in a 45 minute line. So when I saw that I could get poi mochi from Dee's, I kept checking their IG and even tried looking for them in Lahaina to no avail two years ago. I was determined to track them down this year at the Maui Sunday Market. No line since we were there so early so we got a dozen, half poi and half ube with the POG and guava sauce. The poi mochi on its own didn't quite measure up to the ones at the fair, which are great and addictive on its own, while this one needed that dipping sauce. Overall, it's still great having Dee's to satisfy our cravings especially since the fair had been cancelled these two years.

Dee's Little purple stand! So cute and great music and vibes

Super friendly service and music is popping outside the Dee's little purple stand! We were driving back to our home and we saw a cute purple stand that said Mochi and we immediately had to pull over! Lots of Mochi finds in Oahu, but we noticed it's a bit harder to find on Maui. Was super excited to try Dee's Poi Mochi! We tried Ube, Poi & Mango 12 piece with 2 dipping sauces (POG & coconut) for $12! It came out in a brown paper bag and donuts were supa hot! $1 per donut plus 2 dipping sauces isn't bad and not super marked up unlike other touristy items like $8 small Dole whips haha Ube poi donuts were so purple and I'm a huge sucker for Ube! They paired perfectly with the coconut dipping sauce. The plain poi & mango Mochi donut was great with POG dipping sauces! Honestly, I think all the flavors would be yummy with coconut bc it a very versatile flavor. Thanks for making yummy Mochi donuts Dee! We will be back Next time we are in Lahaina area! Mahalo!

If you're looking for delicious poi mochi, this is the place to get it. We always come and grab some poi mochi dessert from Dee's Poi Mochi when we can. It's definitely better now that they have a location closer to where we live. We like the white chocolate coconut and original coconut dipping sauce. We will most likely try some other items that they have added to their menu. They also have a new food trailer which looks amazing. The service is nice and run by a small family. The poi mochi itself is warm, yummy, and our whole family loves it.

POG dipping sauce (passion, orange, and guava) - quite good!

My husband and I took our retired pastors to Maui to renew our 40th anniversary and their 50th wedding anniversary. When we landed, I found this place on yelp. So we had breakfast here. Wow! So good. The food, the service. Not a large place, but at the time it wasn't busy and we got to sit down. After touring the big island the week before, then here on Maui we all decided that faithful grinds was our favorite place to dine. Everything we ordered on the menu was delicious and made with love. So on the way back home to fly out we all decided we need to go back. Again so good not busy, until later the line was out the door. So glad we got to eat before our flight. They all feel like family to me. I even posted a photo of the two gals working the front with me. It's like we could be cousins. The place is truly a small hole in the wall with the feel of the islands. I would totally come back every time I fly down. I recently noticed that people have been complaining due to seating. Why complain? So glad they are blessed and doing so well that they are so busy. Unfortunately for us once I post this review, they'll most likely get even more people lining out the door. That what happened to our favorite sushi place in Seattle. Once I posted a review, you can barely get reservations. Blessings to you all faithful grinds. Until we meet again! Aloha

But, the biz didn't answer their phone. All I got was the automated "voicemail not set up" pre-recorded message. A coworker called, same thing. Another coworker chimed in and said to order online but I was apprehensive to do so if they weren't actually open. She then called and actually got through, but got yelled at and scolded, told they're busy and to order online and even hung up on her. Really? I get it that everybody is short staffed, so why not activate your voicemail with a greeting to "order online" or just answer the phone cordially and relay the message? How can you treat customers like this, let alone locals who are your bread & butter? OVERALL: If service isn't good, I can't continue to patronize or recommend a place no matter how good the food is. I welcome this second biz, to my new collection, "Bad Service".

Lots of seating, good for groups. You order then sit (I believe) as thats what most people were doing. It included rice, mac salad,1 slice spam, Mochiko Chicken, BBQ Beef, and 2 large pieces of Shrimp Katsu. Mochiko Chicken is light and crispy and the Shrimp Katsu was battered and huge. The BBQ Beef was succulent and juicy however the sauce wasn't overwhelming. Spam is spam. The rice was a tad dry however the mac salad was good. The next day going home, we stopped by to grab some dessert. The Lava Rocks come in a pair at $5.50. Moist, soft and super chocolaty. The chocolate haupia bar was very nice and not overly sweet. The Chantilly brownie was very chocolaty with a hint of Chantilly and nuts only on top. Both bars were a Shareable size. We've been coming here for years and I've always enjoyed my experiences here, but last night I had a dish that compelled me to write a review. The oxtail soup which is listed as a favorite is a dish I've been eyeing for a while, but it's usually been too warm for me to crave it. But last night was the night. I'm getting over a cold and it's been raining off and on for weeks. The bowl arrived at the table with a plate underneath - smart move because it takes some work to eat oxtail soup. Armed with my fork and spoon, I went at it. The first taste floored me. It was perfectly seasoned and I could taste the fresh ginger, the broth was a beautiful brown color, there was plenty of napa cabbage and it came with a dish of a scoop of glossy steamed rice and steamed carrots, zucchini and broccoli. Our waitress offered to bring over condiments so I went for the soy sauce - sprinkled on the rice and veggies, I noticed that the veggies might have had a little sesame oil flavor on them so that made me happy. A spoonful of rice dunked into the broth with some of the tender fall of the bone oxtail meat, and a little crunch of the napa cabbage and I was in absolute heaven. I tasted my husband's pork adobo and that was equally as delicious as always. But that soup - that's what really did it for me last night and stays with me today. I walked out of Tante's with a swollen and happy belly and a fresh, tiny piece of ginger stuck between my teeth...a treat for later.
