Busy place. Difficult parking. Extremely tight drive thru. But the drinks r worth the effort! The baristas r too busy to b friendly and some dont appreciate special requests ....its like the customer should like the way it was made. This Starbucks needs immediate attention from corporate. The wait time is unbelievable!!! I've waited over 30 minutes in the drive thru! Come on now! Storytime... I make mobile order as usual. The last two times i ordered and picked up, the drink was about 3/4 full as opposed to mostly full like it has been for years. This time it was even less full. I turn around and walk back in and show the barista and ask her if that looks normal that it's so low. She says no, but decides to double down and begin suggesting that it must have been the natural settling of the whip cream or something. I give her a look and so "ok" sarcastically since I don't have time to argue before work. So instead of addressing and rectifying a customers concern, she decides to go all Dr. Nye on me and blames science instead of acknowledging any shortcomings in their work, god forbid. I wish I could get away with that at my job... Anyway, maybe she should go get a job in her field instead of blowing smoke up customers behinds. Just a thought. read more

I don't come to this Starbucks often, but I will say that the store was very clean after a morning rush. I was up in town to visit friends and had some time to kill. They have plenty of seating with outlets for your electronics. I am actually writing this review from Starbucks now! Drinks came out correct, and fast. When there was a slow in traffic, one of the employees went around to sitting customers offering them a sample of their cheese danish. I thought this was great. I have never had this at any of the Starbucks in Sacramento. read more

One of the worst Starbucks around. Don't fully blame the staff necessarily (though they do mess up orders quite a bit). More of a management/company issue. Not enough staff to handle the order load. Every time I come here, there are over a dozen people angrily waiting in line for their orders. I know I've waited 45 min before for a sandwich and coffee. Go to the Starbucks at Safeway in the plaza next door. They don't have a drivethru but believe me, walking in there and ordering will be exponentially faster than this Starbucks. I've been sitting here now for 30 min for a simple coffee and danish. Ridiculous. read more

You know it's bad when the Starbucks in Safeway has a better rating. First, Adriana is a new manager and trying to fix their issues. It doesn't help that she has shift leads like Jennifer working there. I went in on Sunday morning to use the restroom and grab a cold brew. My drink is the easiest on the menu. Just fill up the cold brew and add ice, that's it. It took a long time to make my order because Jennifer felt the lids being stocked were more important than the line of customers at the register. As I'm doing the peeper dance I place my order "venti black cold brew" her response is would you like cream or sugar. No Hun, that's what black means. I go to the restroom and come out to wait for my coffee. The little old woman that was behind me is at the counter waiting as well. 12 minutes later that little old lady leaves with her two beverages. I go up to Jennifer and ask about my drink, point out that I have an appointment and have been there for almost 15 minutes. She claims the little old lady only had tea. I respond with my drink is even easier than making tea. I'm still waiting. I notice they start to make my drink but the cold brew keg has to be switched out. I tell them they need to change it and start over. They change it and then try to start add to the foam of my cup. I tell them again to dump it and start over. At this point I ask for the manager who apparently is Matthew that day. Matthew is clearly no confrontational and basically just walks away. He then comes up and hands me some one else's drink. To which I respond, that isn't mine. They finally got it right and I was late to my appointment. Apparently having a 20 minutes cushion isn't long enough to get coffee. But what irritates me the most is when Jennifer had the audacity to say "we have to go in order" after skipping my drink multiple times to make others that ordered after me. She has no business being a shift lead, neither does Matthew. Please do better. read more

My general opinion is that any popular chain is better in Jackson or Amador County versus my home county of Sacramento. You can chock it up to cleanliness and smaller crowds. This Starbucks seems to fit my consensus, with one exception: the drive-through. It's consistently even more busy in the mornings and evenings that most drive-throughs in my urban backyard. Chalk it up to laziness on the part of the local coffee drinkers. Final note: I'm glad to see Amador County has stubbornly progressed into the current century with the Martell shopping area. Despite them being big chains, having places like Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Safeway and Lowe's makes you feel less isolated in an already insular county and is a far cry better than the shuttered store fronts of downtown Jackson. read more

The best family Starbucks, Janine who runs the place is an excellent manager, she always takes time to say hello even when busy. Everybody is good, the place is usually busy because there is only one Starbucks in the area besides Safeway. It has a shared parking area, so it's tight, but it works. Our family probably goes there too much, but we support our locals. read more

Minimum of a 10 minute wait on any drink other then coffee. I've actually walked out and left a drink cause it was taking way to long. And every time they hand you your drink it's " Sorry about the wait." So they know they have a problem it's just not being taken care of. read more

I'm sure the residents know - it's new this year (or last year some time) OK - so if you've read my reviews, you know I'm not a huge fan of Starbuck's - but when you take the shortcut and can't go to Java Drive and you need a cup o' joe this will have to do. They have a drive-thru - but the line was super long. The bathrooms were clean on our visit but it took a really long time to make drinks. **Okay so, the strong pull of my caffeine addiction brought me back here this morning and I must say, my drive thru experience was better than it has been. Pryce was very attentive, the coffee I ordered did taste a bit burnt, but I don't usually mind the bitterness that sometimes comes with my cup of Joe, and the time and correctness of my order has pressed me to give a couple more stars.** Honestly, I really didn't have too much of a problem with this location when I thought they were just slow because they were busy, but after 3 times of forgetting part of my order, I think they are ill-trained. Not that I'm expecting much when it comes to quality customer service here in the mountains, but when you laugh that you forgot to put an order in and I'm needing to get to work, it becomes a bit frustrating. There is one girl here that stands out as being friendly, I think her name is Sam, but other than that, the baristas rather gossip back and forth with one another, than remember their customers are right there trying to get an order. I come here 3-5 times a week, and have learned to only use the drive thru if I still have 15-20 minutes til I have to work. The staff is always great, and always greets with a smile. If they make a mistake they'll fix it. If you're getting bad customer service here, it is because you are a bad customer. read more

Why is when you tell the workers at Starbucks that they gave you a green tea when you asked for a white tea. They can't tell them apart. I've sent my drink back twice and its still green tea. Tried to call the store but the phone is always busy. Am I the only one that can tell a green tea from a white tea? Starbucks you need to train your workers the difference. read more

I've been going to this Starbucks on-and-off frequently the last few years, and staff certainly seems to change. The last time I went into this Starbucks I received my drink, sat down, and looked at the menu behind the register. I locked eyes with a barista momentarily and thought nothing of it. After a few minutes, I was approached by a brunette employee who had a blue streak as a dye on top of the head. This employee asks me to leave the store because I made an employee "feel uncomfortable." At first I thought this was a joke since I only interacted with the cashier. I left and sat outside waiting for a friend to show up, and before we left I was snarled at by two employees as they left the parking lot. This Starbucks treated me like complete garbage, especially for the countless thousands of dollars I've spent at this particular establishment over the years. Awful experience and I believe the store manager or district manager may want to look into hiring new employees, because I'm not treated with kindness or warmth when I enter as I once was. read more

About average for a Starbucks, but I can't figure out why they are seemingly always playing religious music? While I'm not at all against everyone having their niche and whatnot, I just feel like they should mix it up some. This is a review of their recent remodel: They removed all the comfortable chairs and replaced them with uncomfortable chairs and stools, plus one tolerable wall-bench fronted by minuscule tables too small to do any actual work on. One can no longer, with any degree of comfort at this Starbucks, enjoy their coffee and read a book, or do work or chat with a friend. I've been a loyal customer visiting this location at least 5X a week for the past 6 years; now I go maybe once and get my coffee to go because all the seating choices are so very unsatisfactory. Starbucks in Jackson CA (and maybe corporate wide) seems to have abandoned its stated goal to be that "third place," and has lost my frequent, loyal business. read more
