I've been going for years! Definitely a favorite spot to grab coffee and a treat or go to gather with friends and stay awhile. I try to support local businesses but our experience here was so bad. We asked for two Frappuccino's and they were horrible. Tasted like water. Then we ordered a turkey sandwich. Horrible as well. It was so dry and there was like one layer or meat. Spending $40 here was disappointing. read more

I always loved to stop in at this place. Love their coffee drinks and (somewhat more recently) their sandwiches. But the last three times I came by, they were closed despite it being well with in their normal hours of operation. I gave three stars because of how good they have been in the past but completely unreliable recently if you're planning to stop in and find out they are closed. read more

I try not to write negative reviews but how does this place have 4.7 stars? I've tried to be their customer 8-10 times in the past few months. The young man who works there is very nice and friendly and does a good job but his boss, the owner lady, who is always there is mess. She has a really bad attitude and makes you feel unwelcome. The coffee is kept in thermoses so it's usually just like warm. Today was the worst. I ordered a breakfast sandwich. They charged me. Then that was it. Acted like I didn't exist. People went on break. I finally left. Never got my sandwich. This place is for sale. I'm hope someone buys it and treats their customers (and employees) better!! read more

So you're in Clements and you have a project up in Mountain Ranch. It's early morning and you don't want to backtrack to Lockeford. I wasn't feeling like the national chain coffee company so searching I discovered Common Grounds. When I looked on the map, I realized it was a few miles out of the way off the main highway. Wasn't a big deal since I had plenty of time. When I entered the store, I was greeted immediately by a super friendly barista. I could tell this place was a great local place since there were a few groups of people that looked like regulars and were having their morning get together's. I ordered my regular latte with hot steamed Half-and-half alla breve. They had some great looking pastries, but then I saw the bagel bombs. Just wow. Bagel bars filled with cheese and bacon with jalapeño and jalapeño slices on the bagel. Absolutely over-the-top tasty. I noticed they also make fresh Panini's. I'm definitely gonna go back and try one of those soon. My latte was amazing. Perfect temperature perfect flavor. Excellent roasted espresso. The café is super clean and comfortable and overall epic experience. They also have a drive thru if you prefer. Great Local Business. Super friendly people working here. Super dislike having to give a bad review for a family owned business but I just have to be honest. This place is beyond awful. The furniture is old, the couches are worn out, sink in and dirty. The coffee isn't good, the food is worse. You can make better food at home. The sandwiches look nothing like the picture, they use cheap ingredients and it's overpriced. The owners family is always hanging out at the big table. It's for sale I think they've stopped caring or trying. Please VS needs a better local shop. This place is gross and depressing. read more

First time here came for the Gelato but no Gelato yet starts in April. So picked up a few homemade chocolate chip cookies which btw my rookie said they were the best she ever tasted. Very friendly service plus they have a drive thru and real comfy couches inside. read more

so, i know the owner of this place, but i'll try not to be bias. i came from the bay area where coffee shop is just that, a place to get coffee. But this is something different. i got there and it got a nice ambiance, ordered some tea, i'm not a fan of coffee but i heard it's good, the owner told me that they got their coffee locally and it's freshly roasted and grounded. anyways, i ordered a medium tea and i got 2 teabags , this is nice. some places in the city only gave you 1 for a large. then i called the owner which lives nearby and he showed me around the store. he told me that he started selling gelato and he let me try all the flavors, which he told me that it's his recipes. they are good and the cookies and cream is really good because its chocolate based not vanilla. the mango was made with real fruits and you can really taste it. they have a nice snack bar there with some baked goods and also paninis made to order, i will try them when i go back. they also have a small bookcase if you like reading ,chess table and free wifi. so far so good, the prices is not bad, but the best part is that, it feels like a place where people hang out and there's a sense of community that i dont see in the city, it seems like the customers know the owner pretty well too. i wish theres a place like this in the city and that's why i gave this coffee shop 5 stars! p.s. they have drive-thru. read more

Way, WAY better than Starbucks!! I'm not a huge fan of the burnt flavor of Starbucks. Found Common Ground, and haven't been back to Staryuck since!! Coffee is really aromatic, and even their snacks are yummy. They have free WiFi, so I end up eating and having coffee there a lot. The otuside seating is excellent. Inside is super-ultra clean! Staff is mostly friendly. Certainly a LOT more friendly than the snooty Starbucks people by far. And, get this... They call their large size.... Large! read more
