Not my first choice but at 6:30 am, this was what was open while I had some internet work to do. Decent coffee and the internet worked well. Came to this Starbucks for a study date and to get my caffeine fix in and was so happy that I did! It is OFFICIALLY Lavender season and I am here for it. Starbucks recently introduced two new Lavender drinks for the spring so obviously my friend and I had to get it. The barista behind the counter was very sweet and quick as we ordered our drinks. Ambiance inside is nice and I appreciate that there is plenty of seating. Now let's get to the drinks, in my opinion the Iced Lavender Matcha Latte is much better than the Iced Lavender Oat Milk Latte. This is by far the worst Starbucks to stop at. Avoid this location, rude rude people work here! After ordering 4 drinks for my family, one of the drinks was a peppermint mocha iced and it tasted awful. I went inside to ask to exchange it for something else and the 2 woman working there literally said "maybe you shouldn't have ordered it" you'll have to wait until I get the 8 people in the car line first, then I'll get to you. I come to this Starbucks a few times every summer and fall because of my job doing recruitment at Ben Davis high school and every time I go, they are a wee bit slow. I usually go to the Starbucks on 15th and Capitol and they be havin their ish together - so I guess all Starbucks are not created equal when it comes to speed. I ordered a grande iced Carmel-machitto for $5+ (I'm like did prices go up again?!?!?) - that's neither here nor there. I waited in line for a record-breaking 7 minutes and could not pull out of line due to the concrete median guarding the drive thru. Those things are the ultimate customers blockers and protect Starbucks from losing money. Anyways, when I get to the window the girl was SO nice and the drink tasted as expected. Seriously strong Starbucks customer service! Today, while ordering my Chai Frap at the Chapel Hill store, I mentioned drink purchased Saturday night at Avon store location. It lacked NO Chai and I would have returned except I walked in 5 min before close and they locked the door behind me. I was asking if I needed to add extra Chai pumps to get the Chai punch I prefer. Woman taking my order works at Avon store, apologized to me, ask me a few questions and then comp'd my drink. Wow! Wasn't expecting that! I'm the type of customer whose drink is unique (I know, I know) and memorized by a couple of the veteran baristas. "The usual?" they ask when I stroll in or roll up to the drive-thru speaker. I love my veteran baristas at this Starbucks. I even went on a date with one once! (Whaaaaat?) And I've been coming to this particular location for the better part of two years, so I don't really feel bad about the rating I'm bestowing upon it today. It seems that they've recently hired a slew of new employees who a) have no experience working with coffee and b) fail to listen to your drink order in the drive-thru line, resulting in having to repeat it 3-4 times. So what happens in this instance? Well, it seems this Starbucks is keen on training said employees during their rush: when people need to get the f%#@ to work. So the long (LONG) line that runs all the way into the traffic on Girls School Road (literally) remains at a standstill for a solid 20 minutes. A solid 20 minutes of waiting, followed by a new barista that either gets your order wrong repeatedly or just pauses, followed by ".... Um... What...?" in the most monotone I-don't-care voice I've ever heard. Look, I understand new employees need to be trained on making drinks and serving food as well as taking orders in the store and in the drive-thru line. But maybe rethink your plan of action and have the new guys MAKE the drinks during rush and TAKE the orders during the slower hours. Until they get situated, I'll unfortunately be taking my business to the Starbucks further west in Avon. Sad face. read more

I come in here to do homework every now and then and the employees are always super friendly and kind to everyone! They always try to keep the tables clean when they have downtime. They take the time to ask you how you actually spell your name, ask you how you're doing and have a legit conversation with you (which may not be important to some people but it is to others). I frequent others but was on the West side of town dropping my daughter for a night with her grandma and she requested a vanilla bean frapp. We drove thru and I must admit the server/speaker was very helpful, upbeat, and funny. And thank the sweet lord they had the horizon chocolate milk for the little one or we might have had an issue. SO, we get our chocolate milk box in a timely fashion but sat waiting for the vanilla frapp for an eternity! When passed to us I hand it to said daughter and like any smart person she eats the whipped cream off the top first as we're pulling out of the lot. As we're driving she says..ewww this tastes awful. My drinks never taste as good as at other locations. I don't know why this one keeps falling short. The staff isn't as friendly or courteous, either. I've never gotten a "hi" or even "have a nice day." Even if it's slow, my drink is never well blended. It's more like a Slurpee, with ice chunks and 50% whipped cream. This might be the worst Starbucks to which I have ever been. We placed an order for one strawberry refresher. Forty minutes and two remakes later, we finally walked out with something at least close. While we were waiting, we observed that at least a third of the orders were incorrect, and the staff was remaking drinks as much as they were making new ones. Several frustrated customers after us left, even after placing and paying for their order. To top it off, the staff was unfriendly and just short of rude. Everyone that works here is very friendly. I love coming in in the morning to get my morning coffee and sometimes a nice pastry item. I spent a lot of time here at night to working on my homework and everyone, no matter what shift, is always so friendly and eager to be helpful. This Starbucks is always clean. This is the closest starbucks to my house. Not bad most of the time, standard. They drive me crazy cause I request light ice on cold drinks as they fill the cup and you end up with about a third of a cup of fluid. If I don't get light ice the 4 dollar drink is gone by the time I get home. Ordered light ice today and they filled the cup. I think I'll just skip this starbucks aND stop at one where I'm not paying for ice instead of a beverage. read more
