My boyfriend and I came on Mother's day (unintentionally) and we waited about 10-15 minutes to sit at the bar. Getting our orders taken & our food served definitely took a bit of time, but we enjoyed seeing all the cooks in action and getting to smell all the amazing smells!! I got Grandpa's one pan skillet and my boyfriend got the sausage breakfast sandwich on croissant bread. All I gotta say is those chefs definitely knew what they were doing! The flavors were unique and intentional and I enjoyed every bite. The home fries (potatoes) were also so yummy and everything was cooked really well. There's nothing basic about borage and I love that! This place is a gem. They also have a cafe/market area where you can order drinks and pastries. I wish we waited until we got seated to order drinks because the menu was much more extensive than what I saw in the cafe and I would have ordered a different drink had I seen all the other options. The staff here are also very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our little brunch and will be back with family next time!

To begin with my experience was frustrating and the atmosphere was chaotic. It was sub par even for Le Peep They are severely understaffed and struggled to keep up with the crowd. When I walked in several staff walked past us without greeting us. When the hostess arrived after me waiting several minutes to either place my order or be seated. I asked for a menu as the wait was longer than I had time for. She was uneducated about the menu and struggled to answer questions. She went to get a server to take my order. We waited and received our food, cashed out, & headed on our way. When we arrived at our destination we realized they left the syrup out so we had no syrup for our pancakes. I called and told them I was headed back for syrup and asked for a future meal replacement. They refused and offered to make more pancakes. With their level of unprofessionalism and disgusting attitudes there was no way I was going to trust them to remake ANYTHING for me! I was offered a $5 gift card. I went back to retrieve syrup and was confronted by a server telling me I was being rude for asking for what I paid for and then receiving the putrid level of service I received. Needless to say I DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING ANYTHING HERE!!!! If I could give zero stars I would!!!

FYI to those who may have a physical handicap the prevents climbing steps, there are 2 sets of steps to enter the building, I didn't see any handicap accessible entry when I went there. The area to order coffee was really small and could comfortably fit about 5 people in the line inside the ordering station. There were places to stand in the foyer to wait as well, but in my opinion even though there is an open space in the foyer you could be potentially blocking someone's walking space since the ordering station is next to the entrance and the seating areas are in the entryway. I ordered their seasonal From the Past Latte w/ matcha and whole milk. They mentioned that the wait time to receive the drink was 10 minutes, which was understandable with how busy they were, but to my surprise I actually received my drink in half that time. The drink tasted great and if I was still in the area I'd go there again. I definitely noticed for such a small space, the staff were efficient and moved quickly to get everyone their correct orders. All of them were very cordial and professional as well, so that was appreciated.

It is an apartment building. I didn't do my research prior but learned that it used to be a psych ward. Kinda cool. I got their seasonal coconut lavender latte and a signature Sammy. The drink was great, the sandwich took way too long to prepare (we're talking 30 minutes, no joke). I was only annoyed bc I was so hungry, other than that- I didn't care about the wait bc I had nowhere to be. Overall- If I was in the neighborhood and craving a yummy coff treat, I'd return- I did really like my drink.

The service is a bit too relaxed for my taste. If you just holler at me for my order while you are cleaning from the next booth over... well, let's say I didn't really care for that. It also took me 4 tries to get a coffee refill and when I finally got someone to acknowledge my request, the coffee was full of grounds and so I waited even longer while they ran another pot. They were busy with a lot of carry out and door dash orders, which apparently were mixed up quite a bit also. I had a skillet and the food itself was good... not great, but acceptable. IDK, I might give them another try, I am hoping this was just an off day.

Staying at a hotel nearby we got this place for breakfast. Most meals are $10 and I could only finish half. I got a three egg omelet stuffed with toppings, two head sized pancakes, and has brown as their standard serving. The inside decor is very pleasant too with custom seats, plants, and a nice relaxed atmosphere. This extends to the staff and I personally liked it. The host was also the waiter for another group and they joked like old friend, the son helped run the register, and orders and questions may be yelled from the back for efficiency but it was never rude and it fits the mood of the place. 10/10

And to say we were not disappointed is an understatement! The chef knows exactly what he is doing! In a 6 day span we came here 4 times lol. The salsa was so fresh and flavorful. It came in a huge margarita glass and was served similar to ceviche and topped with avocado. My coworkers got steak quesadillas and steak fajitas. Everything here was extremely fresh and you can taste the love in every bite! And the decor is so cute especially the anchors along the wall! We weren't even sure it was opened because there were no cars in front, but the neon sign glowed OPEN. We heard Mexican music when we opened the door and a small group of workman were seated waiting for their lunches. There are about a dozen tables scattered around and a big white Christmas tree stood with lights. The place isn't trendy or upscale, just homey. A cheerful server told us to find a seat anywhere and follow us with menus. Complimentary chips were fresh and the house made salsa was delicious. The menus were filled with authentic Mexican options written in Spanish and English. I selected the lunch special tacos with chicken. My street tacos came with plenty of flavorful chicken, cilantro and sweet onions. The beans were probably the best I've had, made from scratch with bacon. My husband had the burrito lunch, made with steak with lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc. he loved his burrito. Food came out quickly. Our server checked on us several times. There is a discount for paying cash (as opposed to credit card). El Crucero deserves their great reviews. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Indy!

I usually base a lot of choices on coffee options and was happy to see flavored creamers for drip and LOTS of specialty options for coffee lovers. The woman working on the getting plates ready for the servers and expediting food was fantastic--super attentive and kept everything moving quickly. We watched everyone's plates came out fast and fresh the entire time. We ordered the All Star and upgraded the cinnamon roll French toast for $3, which was absolutely amazing and worth it. We also got a half order of the red velvet French toast--just as good and perfectly done with fresh strawberries. The avocado toast was solid as well. Only small note: the capers were a nice touch, but pickled red onion instead of fresh chopped would've taken it over the top for more balance and brightness. Overall, really good food, great service, and we'll definitely be back.
