We wanted a quick reliable brunch and decided on Le Peep. We've eaten at this location many times in the past. They have new management and have changed their name to Mornings at Maple. To begin with my experience was frustrating and the atmosphere was chaotic. It was sub par even for Le Peep They are severely understaffed and struggled to keep up with the crowd. When I walked in several staff walked past us without greeting us. When the hostess arrived after me waiting several minutes to either place my order or be seated. I asked for a menu as the wait was longer than I had time for. She was uneducated about the menu and struggled to answer questions. She went to get a server to take my order. We waited and received our food, cashed out, & headed on our way. When we arrived at our destination we realized they left the syrup out so we had no syrup for our pancakes. I called and told them I was headed back for syrup and asked for a future meal replacement. They refused and offered to make more pancakes. With their level of unprofessionalism and disgusting attitudes there was no way I was going to trust them to remake ANYTHING for me! I was offered a $5 gift card. I went back to retrieve syrup and was confronted by a server telling me I was being rude for asking for what I paid for and then receiving the putrid level of service I received. Le Peep is a breakfast/brunch chain that started 45 years ago in Colorado, however, its Indiana roots have been so strong that they often feel like a local chain (and local spots are locally owned). This is one of the relatively newer locations. It's on Main Street in Speedway just a couple blocks away from the currently under renovation IMS museum. There's a lot of things I love about Speedway's Main Street. First, parking is still free (though limited in places to three hours). Secondly, most of Main Street has been heavily renovated and curb cuts are done very nicely. The vast majority of retail spots here are accessible (there are some exceptions). This spot is in the newer 1300 building and accessibility is strong. You enter and are immediately at a hosting area. There's a dining room to the right, a small dining area to the left, a private room to the left, and outside dining options farther to the right. Dining consists of both booths and tables, though it appeared the private room was all tables. I was greeted quickly and seated at a comfortable table. The menu, as noted, consists of primarily breakfast options with some lunch options added in. Options include griddle favorites, egg favorites, benedicts, panhandled skillets, south of the border options, crepes, salads, burgers/sandwiches, and a few other options plus sides. I ordered a small order of french toast along with a side of hash browns and my usual unsweetened iced tea. The small french toast was definitely adequate - I didn't realize that it also came with 2 slices of bacon. The meal was a solid meal. While I've gotten used to the idea that breakfast/brunch places tend to be a bit more expensive, this was just a touch over $20 - seemed a bit steep for what I ordered. However, it was doable and it was a good meal. I will note I found the syrup a bit weak - very liquidy. I did get my always desired iced tea refill - I found it unusual that the refill actually came in a smaller glass. It made me feel like I was being rushed out, though they were far from full. The atmosphere was pleasant, though a touch loud. There's a definite 500 vibe going on with black-and-white decor and floor-to-ceiling windows. The tables were close, however, not invasive. I was definitely comfortable. My server, Amanda, was friendly and helpful and I was pleased I was offered the tea refill even though I was clearly about done. Overall, this was a solid 4-star experience. I don't know that I would rush back, however, there's no doubt I'd come back when I'm in the area. I wouldn't consider this a destination experience and, in fact, I live closer to the Castleton Le Peep. However, for Speedway trips hitting Main Street is always something I enjoy. read more

This Le Peep is located on Main St. in Speedway. It's beautiful inside!! It's so unique in that incorporated the essence of Speedway and the fact that you can walk to the IMS from here. New addition to Speedway and the Le Peep lineup of restaurants. Nicely done, keeping with the race theme of this area. It's actually quite roomy inside. Parking can be a bit of a challenge here, but there is quite a bit of street parking and a parking garage as long as there isn't a race or other event going on at the track. The menu gives you all the classics along with a few innovative dishes. Something for every taste. One of my favorite things here is that for a very reasonable price (currently $7 for 2 eggs your way, a breakfast meat and your choice of potato) you can upgrade a selection of griddle dishes. And they do serve boozy breakfast drinks, because it wouldn't be brunch without a mimosa. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. read more

After Sunday service it was decided to try LePeep's off 10th St. It was a bit out of the way but went with the majority. It was a bit crowded during this time of the day but we were seated relatively quick. I'm a basic eggs and pancake type of guy but I felt for something totally different so I went out of character and ordered the Wilbur and Gravy bowl which blew me away. It included home fries, pork sausage, green pepper, onion, and cheddar/jack smothered in house made pork sausage gravy and topped with two basted eggs. To my surprise it was excellent! LePeep is now open on Main Street in downtown Speedway in the new 1300 Building. Our server said they've been open a couple of months. The large floor to ceiling windows provide plenty of natural light. The windows are tinted, making it difficult to see through the glass from outdoors, giving the impression of being closed. The interior decor is, of course, black and white with comfortable booths and tables. They do have a smaller room, the hostess referred to as the private room with tables only. Perfect for a large group or special event. A small bar top has several chairs and 2 high-tops. The restaurant has mainly hard surfaces without enough soft surfaces to absorb the sounds, so it becomes loud quickly. LePeep currently doesn't serve alcohol but they have submitted their liquor license. Hopefully, it'll be soon. The patio is attractive and will seat appropriately 20-25 patrons. The heavy rain kept the patio closed this morning. The menu offers all day breakfast and lunch (soup, salad, sandwiches) options with all the traditional breakfast items along with the Dutch Pancake, Bagel and Lox, chicken and waffle, burritos, Benedicts, and omelets. Lunch offers a nice selection of soups and salads with a diverse selection of sandwiches. Our server, Leslie, was attentive, friendly, and paid attention to details along with a good memory. Our orders arrived correctly and sooner than we expected, especially with the Dutch pancake. Leslie checked on us several times, refilled our drinks, brought carryout boxes, and promptly handled the check. I'm glad LePeep has opened in Speedway with several options, Charlie Brown's doesn't have. I will continue to support Charlie Brown's as well as LePeep, depending on what I'm craving. Charlie Brown's is more affordable, good food also, and servers I've known for decades. I think Speedway and surrounding communities can support both restaurants. First time to Indy and new to gluten free. So glad I found this place! Great coffee and great food for all even us gluten free people. The GF bagels... the best I've ever had. Erica, the manager was a delight! We went twice while we were there and both times were great. Erica was on it! Very friendly and kept the place going on their busiest day of the year! We live near and come in often. They have a very fancy espresso machine; NOTHING COMES OUT OF A LATTE MACHINE as stated by another reviewer. You can see the machine at the bar. The breakfast is good. I have eaten at Le Peep restaurants downtown and northwest Indianapolis; this was my first visit to the new diner in Speedway. The dining room is spacious, clean, and decorated in tribute to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway just a few blocks away. We ate on Sunday morning, typically a busy time for after-church breakfast dining, but today we were seated straight away, choosing from a very few open tables in an otherwise full restaurant. Wait staff were busy, but checked on us every few minutes. There is a coffee bar inside to grab a cuppa while waiting, dining, or for carry-out. The food was great, as always. I had a delicious classic eggs Benedict with greens. Usually I choose their blueberry granola pancakes, which I'll order at my next visit. Hopefully in warmer weather there will be tables outside on the sidewalk. Free street parking is available out front. read more

Wow. We've been looking for a breakfast place to suit us and this is it. The decor is minimalist and stylish. The black and white theme is really appealing, with the floor to ceiling windows giving a really modern look, unlike some of the other franchise locations. We really had a great experience across the board. A couple of extra touches made the difference for me. One of the other staffers brought our food and I requested my large milk be brought with my food, which didn't happen. After a few minutes, our server walked past our table, giving it a quick once over, as she helped another table. Next I knew, she went and poured me a milk and got it right to me. Most times I end up not getting my milk till I'm halfway done. Nice attentiveness. We stopped the manager to ask about our short stack of pancakes. It seemed a bit much for a short stack and we wanted to make sure we weren't ripping them off. He assured us that was the normal size for a short stack. He said he didn't want us to leave hungry and wanted people to leave satisfied. He was pretty personable and amusing. We were there on a Sunday and it was busy, but not packed. I've eaten at La Peep in other locations, the food is always good. It's a little pricey, but for us it's an event. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. This was my first time at Le Peep and overall I'd give the experience a 3/5. The service was great- we had a large party and they tended to us quickly and efficiently. The menu had many options and was very accommodating for those with dietary restrictions. I love breakfast and order it all the time from a variety of places. I was disappointed with my pancakes. I think they were gluten-free so the taste/texture was a bit off for me (never had anything gluten free before). The ambiance was typical for a Sunday morning after church - nothing fancy; very chill but still a bit more elevated than your IHOP or Dennys. We also had issues with dirty utensils and silverware. You know it's a bad time when EVERY interaction with your staff starts out with, "I'm sorry, thanks for your patience". It is hard to return to Le Peep when it is constantly a waiting game from the moment you enter. Staff is always behind and have not even shown average service quality the two times I've been. Stood and waited 20 minutes for a table. We then waited another 15 for waters to show up and to place an order. Then you wait for your food and that's a gamble on time when you'll receive it. There were several other customers who were in various stages of waiting. Waiting for coffee, waiting for to go boxes, waiting for checks, waiting for food. The overall mood from everyone was not good. Several people who walked in saw the situation and just left after a few minutes of waiting for a table. Some serious changes need to occur with the staffing philosophy, training, and workflow. 2 people cannot keep up with their current workload and it puts a black eye on everything else. read more

I would like to say while eating here, there wasn't ONE good part. The glasses were incredibly dirty. And that's the nicest word I could say. Lipstick stains were the least of your worries. Don't even get me started on the manager here. She was extremely rude to the customers and also unprofessional. Our food was so good!! The server (Amy) we had was not at all! She got our drink order, brought us our drinks, took our food order and vanished! No checking to see if everything was ok. A food runner brought our food and the lady cleaning the tables asked if we needed anything when she picked up our empty plates. We had to ask the person at the hostess stand if we could get our check. Then Amy appeared and said I'm sorry I thought you were still waiting on your food. (An hour after we had ordered). The food at Le Peep was absolutely marvelous. A bit pricey for the small portions that you receive, but the quality was fantastic. The restaurant was very well decorated with light colors and a race theme, which connects very well to the location. Our waitress, however, truly put a damper on our experience. She spilled drinks across the table and left us without napkins, was very interruptive while we were ordering, and at many points, outright rude. The rest of the staff was extremely friendly, and it was truly a shame one person had the ability to change our outlook on the experience. read more
