Healthcare workers LOVE coffee! This Starbucks is located right in the middle of the medical center, just off the Metro rail line (Dryden/TMC) making it a convenient stop for healthcare professionals, patients, and visitors alike. I'm not a big Starbucks girl but they do make it SO convenient to place a customized order through the app ahead of time for easy pick up. It's worth mentioning that this location is BUSY, especially in the morning and in the afternoon, so be sure to check the name on the cup if you are coming to pick up. I have unfortunately picked up someone else's drink by accident only to realize after the fact. Finally, keep an eye out for special promotions in the app. Today I got my venti drink for just $3! read more

Starbucks - Iced Shaken Espresso with almond milk - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

One of the best Starbucks locations I've visited. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the team works together to make customers feel comfortable. The security officer, DJ, really stands out. He greets customers with a warm smile, often holds the door, and makes everyone feel safe and welcome the moment they arrive. His professionalism and positive attitude truly set the tone for the whole experience. A couple of years ago it was honestly difficult to visit this area because of homelessness and drug activity, but during my recent visits it has been a night-and-day difference. The security presence has clearly helped improve the environment and make it much more comfortable for customers. Inside, the staff continues that same friendly energy--Ms. Helen, Ms. Sarah from England, Ms. Melissa, and Mr. Ethan are all kind and professional. Great team and great service all around. read more

Thumbs Up: This location is conveniently situated at Dryden & Fannin, making it ideal for serving the Medical Center. Thumbs Up: The staff are polite and professional. Neutral: This is probably the busiest Starbucks in the city. Thumbs Down: Unfortunately, it can take over an hour to receive a drink order. Even for the busiest location in the city, that is unacceptable. Something in the operation is clearly broken. Thumbs Down: I have pre-ordered more than an hour in advance, only to arrive and find my drink still not ready. Even after waiting an additional 30 minutes, it was not prepared. This has happened consistently. Thumbs Up: Starbucks Corporate will issue a refund after an additional 20 minutes of delay. Thumbs Down: Too bad they do not offer compensation for the several hours of time lost. read more

Great people, awesome customer service. Could'nt be more happy today and so forth. Cool officer in the front as well.

Starbucks, exceptional service happy work environment team work you're always greeted with hello good morning and words of positivity. THE BEST STARBUCKS EVER. The security guard is one of the nicest people on earth I've ever met. He always goes above and beyond. He opens up the door for you whether he is near the door or not he always says hello and wishes us a good day. There are not very much people like him in the world he truly is rare and I greatly appreciate him . This location has improved the safety of their customers with the help of DJ the security guard. DJ and the Starbucks baristas always greet customers with a warm and friendly smile or good morning. This location everyone is super nice with a smile. The food is good. The management are super supportive and helpful. If you drop your drink or your food, they will replace it with a smile. I love the atmosphere in the vibe if you're in the go check them out Security keeps everything nice and clean to be terrible place to sit outside. Wasn't able to enjoy your time now you can sit outside and enjoy yourself. read more

Love the friendly staff and security outside! They are always a joy to see. Food and drinks have been so tasty- every time! Thank y'all!

I had a birthday reward and opted to customize my order. The barista making my order made a few rude and loud comments about the inconvenience which were extremely audible in the small space. She also hastily placed my drink down on the counter in a manner of which the drink fell over. She was clearly upset about my order and made it known to the store. It made me feel uncomfortable because it was obviously my drink. She also complained about other customers' orders. For context, my customization was switching out a syrup and adding a drizzle. read more

Only two restrooms, with code required. In this neighborhood? Not a lot of vagrants or freeloaders hanging around the medical center. And one of the two is reserved for employees. Maybe 6 employees, with a line of customers waiting, and at least that many already seated, and you reserve a restroom for yourselves? Don't need my business, apparently. read more

I love this Starbucks not only are they good at making my coffee but they also serve it with a smile and are very helpful when I cannot decide on what I want so they offer their own opinions on the best drinks to get. They also welcome me in and tell me to have a good day with my name included as well. It makes me feel at home back in my home state like I am coming to a locally owned mom and pop place. Keep up the good work guys and the guy that opens the door for me every morning is a very sweet and asks me how work is and remembers my name as well his smile lights up a room read more

Amazing cheerful staff, great atmosphere, my new go to, food is good as ever. yay

It's a super clean Starbucks location that has a great selection of packaged snacks. Unfortunately they have no indoor seating which is why I can't give it a full 5/5. read more

I've been coming to this Starbucks for the last 3.5 years as a student in the med center. Sometimes it's extremely busy a bit of a wait for mobile orders but that's expected with so many businesses around. Everyone at this location is always so friendly and upbeat! I've never had a bad experience here - even when I make a mistake ordering via the app, it's been corrected for me. One person in particular who is always always super friendly is Ms. Helen. She's always so cheerful and manages to brighten my day every time. read more

Starbucks - a cup of coffee and a paper bag on a table - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

Whenever I'm in the Texas Medical Center, I like to relax @ this Starbucks. I use the Metro-lift redline for transportation to the TMC & discovered this particular Starbucks located across from Methodist Hospital b/c it's right off the rail line. The staff is courteous, friendly, & professional. They're also pretty efficient too, b/c as you might've guessed due to its location, it can get pretty busy. Also a special shoutout to the security guards who work this location! They are some of the most accommodating, nicest, & professional people you will meet. Greeting & opening the doors for customers & giving directions to various locations to those who ask. The interior is dark & a little cramp, but the appeal of this location for me, outside of the service, is the cafe style outdoor seating. I luv sitting outside on a cool pleasant day & enjoying my coffee while watching the hustle & bustle of the TMC. It's literally the proverbial "city within a city." I highly recommend this location if you're ever in the area. read more

Very busy, good at drink orders bad at on food orders. Ordered a drink and a breakfast sandwich, drink came out quick. I never got my breakfast sandwich, even after asking about it twice, kept on being told to be patient, even after 45 mins. So yeah..... read more

The layout of this Starbucks is like any other Starbucks if you can make it inside without getting run over by the rail. Also, make sure that you watch out for all the pigeons flying, and also walking, in the entry way. There is plenty of pigeon dropping so if that's not an immediate turn off prior to entry, then you are brave like all of us carbon-footprint-reducers who take the light rail. After you have entered though, this starbucks (during the hours of 7:00am-5:00pm, M-F) is extremely efficient. This is a recent update though. I have only heard horror stories from other people who have been working in the area longer than me, so I am not sure what their experience is based on, but since this is Yelp, my experiences are my own. My drinks always come out hot, and the food is served pretty quickly too. Unfortunately, the stench of the bird poop outside is such a buzz kill that I try to avoid this Starbucks and go to the one at the commons. If you can brave the pigeon poop, then it's worth the trek! S-bucks, yeah! read more

Standard Starbucks atmosphere. Super clean very efficient location. Coffee and breakfast served piping hot and quickly. Got my Houston mug!

This is the best starbucks out there. The ladies that work there are always able to make me laugh by saying things like, "So how can we caffeinate you today?" Brilliant. Aside from making delicious drinks, the thing that sets them apart from the surrounding starbucks locations (and you know there are at least 5 within a one mile radius in the med center), is that they NEVER complain when you have a coupon! What I mean is, back in the day, when you could buy a bag of starbucks beans, there was a little ditty on the side of the bag that said you could turn in the bag for a free cup of coffee up to one month after the 'best by' date. Well, this particular starbucks location accepted those bags from me even six months after the 'best by' date had gone by. They also don't hesitate to give you whatever you ask for when you present those little cards with the stickers you saved from buying the holiday special drinks. They also honor the savings codes I receive in their emails. And, they don't mind giving you 10 cents off if you bring your own cup - which I do! So, all in all, this starbucks is here to serve the customer and isn't overly concerned about profits. I can't say the same about the starbucks on kirby and robinhood.... grrrr.... they frustrate me. And why should a starbucks employee care if I'm trying to save 10 cents? That doesn't affect their hourly wage! read more

Customer service was so horrible. The cashier was being so rude when I was ordering and kept giving me attitude. The other employees just watched and said nothing. When I finish giving him my order, he just gave a mean ugly look and said "whatever you want". read more

Great service, very efficient. However The atmosphere is very cold and not inviting. What happened to comfort and cozy that Starbucks is known for? Also the barista screaming "hello and welcome in" is also not inviting or calming! I don't know how her co-workers tolerate that all day. read more

This location is NOICE but it's made for the locals for sure. Hard to find parking but, when you do, you get to window shop. Lol

This Starbucks NEVER seems to have a lull; I guess that is the "perks" of being in the med center. The line can be all the way to the door, but thankfully they are always fully staffed and orders come popping out very quickly. The physician I work for likes to buy drinks for the office on a weekly basis so we ALWAYS have a 12-15 drink list....no fret, no problems ever and the orders just keep coming out. They are very well organized and always pleasant regardless of how crazy it seems to get in there. This is the better Starbucks for our office as the one in our building is a kiosk and owned by the hotel. Whenever we need a bite to eat albeit a sandwich or protein boxes, this is the place to come to. The only tiny problem you may encounter from time to time is the occasional bum, but it is not a persistent issue either. There is plenty of seating and great lighting in here as well; and as every good Starbucks does, it also provides wi-fi. read more

I frequent this Starbucks because I go to school at TWU, which is just down the street. I usually need a kick of caffeine, black tea lemonade, or pastry after a long day at school. The line is usually to the door during lunch hours or happy hour half price frap days or other specials because of the location. Although there are several Starbucks in the Texas Medical Center, this location is an actual store. Sometimes the little cafes that sell Starbucks don't honor the Starbucks specials that are going on, or you can't earn stars through your Starbucks gift card app. Since this location is so busy, I do not recommend trying to study here. I see people on their laptops or with their books and headphones, but it's just too loud. People are always coming and going, which can be distracting. read more

This Starbucks has somehow found a way to use their mobile order process and turn it into a hot mess. It's incredible how they turned an already set in place contact-free delivery system into a nightmare instead of capitalizing on it during COVID 19. Now, you order your drink/food and it sits behind a glass cover. The softest spoken lady in the 77030 zipcode will then try to yell out "2 at a time!" for people waiting outside. There is no semblance of a line. There are crosses on the floor marking distance but there are so many people it is entirely useless. So you stand there, risking yourself for a venti hot mocha even though you can see it already prepared behind the glass. It's insane. read more

I know once you've been to one starbucks you've been to them all. But this is my home base. I never used to drink coffee on a daily basis but ever since I moved to the dayshift, I require a little pick me up. This is the closest location to work so often times I will come here during my break and pick up a drink. My latest favorite is the coconut creme frap, might possible be better than my caramel frap. They have a few tables, so I've actually come here after work to study if I'm not in a rush to go home. read more

Starbucks - Caramel Brule latte. Nice setting and nice warm coffee go hand in hand. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

This particular location is in the middle of the Medical Center, so it can get quite crowded during peak hours. For the most part, this is just a typical Starbucks. The drinks are decent (although extremely sweet, I always request fewer pumps than the standard recipe requires). My biggest complaint is that I once ordered a peppermint mocha in the winter, and it came out tasting like toothpaste. I couldn't finish it because the minty-ness was way too strong. That was a bit unfortunate. But then I learned to ask them to tone down the syrup levels in my drinks, and it has been fine since. read more

This location is a great go-to for a quick shot of caffeine. It's clean, has friendly employees and you're in and out in a timely manner. It's a popular location for many med center workers because of its convenient location. If you do not work in this area, parking here will be pretty much non-existent. The coffees, etc. are up to Starbucks' standards and I've never been disappointed. I frequent this place daily and I can say they are consistent. For some reason, I rarely if ever can do check ins here. I suppose it's signal problems. I never have any problems with any other areas. That doesn't deter me from coming here to get my happy dose of caffeine. read more

Every Starbucks is the same - corporate coffee house. Yadda, yadda, yadda... Why then do I eat there? Eat, you say? Yes. Starbucks is more than just a place to drink coffee. As I am not a coffee drinker, I cannot comment except I am very partial to their strawberry frappucino with whipped cream (man, I eat healthy - lol). They also have very good sandwiches and pasta offering. I like the egg salad sandwich and their penne pasta with tomatoes. The apple fritters are good, but sometimes one of their old-fashioned glazed doughnuts hits the spot. Like at every Starbucks I've ever visited, the staff are friendly and helpful. Sometimes, though, I think the Starbucks training works a little too well and that the staff needs to turn down the bubbliness just a tad. Oh, yes, and if you can get at them, the cushion chairs are quite comfy. read more

The medical center is certainly not devoid of coffee. In fact, there's a starbuck's in almost every hospital and medical building. So why do I keep coming back to this one? Two words: hot barristas. When I feel like I relaxed day of studying, I head over, grab a giant purple chair and sip my drinks as slowly as possible. One day, I might be called a cougar for such behavior. For now, it's just the whipped cream on my skinny vanilla latte. Parking is rather inconvenient unless you're already in the med center, or live along the metrorail, which stops right at the corner. Don't mind the beggars outside, or the bird poop on the sidewalk, inside the music is great and there's plenty of space for doctors to load up on caffeine. read more

Probably the nicest cashier I've ever had the fortune to meet at a Starbucks! She calls everyone "darling" and is just a lovely personality. Good coffee in the middle of the medical center? What more could you ask for? This store is generally pretty busy, but the inside is large so I've never felt too cramped.
