Crank Merry drink, Frap samples
Louie S.

Review #3 of 2025 2:45pm visit on January 28th I dropped in today but wasn't really in the mood for coffee. I'm grateful to Rachel for recommending the Cran Merry drink made with coconut milk--it's excellent! My daughter ordered her usual double chocolate chip brownie, we chose a Valentine's cake pop for my middle daughter, and for my son a chocolate cake pop. We also got to sample a freestyle mocha Frappuccino that Ryan made, and it was delicious! Overall, the service, the ambiance, the cleanliness, and the attentiveness of the workers at this location made us decide that this is our new Starbucks home. Looking forward to our after school study sessions here.

Disgusting clearly not a sanitary Starbucks. So disappointed in their inability to notice this and serve it to me.

Every time I get a coffee here it tastes burnt. It's so bad. It's just this store too.

To say that Pumpkin Spice Season has been disappointing this year would be a major understatement…read more I have had zero luck finding a PSL that tastes like pumpkin AND spice. But Skimos saved the season! Skimos is just around the corner from my vet and I've been meaning to try it for years. I was finally in the neighborhood without my dog so I stopped in. The coffee shop has a chill vibe with a black and gold theme. It's cozy but still stylish. They were playing some chill music, from Lorde to R&B slow jams. Most of the booths had partitions built in between them so it feels cozy and private. You could definitely get some work done here in peace. The two baristas were incredible. The guy in front of me was asking a million unnecessary questions and the barista was still super patient and friendly. She then took my order and was so nice! They bring your drinks out to you, which is a nice touch. My pumpkin spice latte was perfection. Each sip opens with a bit of pie spice, then deepens into sweet, creamy pumpkin. I have no idea which brand syrup they use, but the actual pumpkin note was spot-on. This latte tasted like an actual slice of pie. My decaf espresso was well-balanced - not watery and not overpowering the pumpkin either. My medium iced PSL with oat milk was $7.70 + tip ($6.75 + $0.95 for oat milk), which feels about average for our area. They use Toast so you can get points with each purchase. The only suggestion I have is that they add price tags and names to the pastries. Some things were obvious, like the croissant drizzled in chocolate, but other's were not, like the pumpkin spice cookie with cream cheese frosting.

I don't like my coffee overly sweet, and Skimos always delivers on that. Even when I tell them to surprise me with a drink of their choice. Usually pretty full in the mornings on the weekends.

The inside is so cozy with patterned fabric chairs, wood tables and a a pretty cool wall mural. There is also a wine bar combined with the coffee house by Azzura inside. I found a space and only had about a two-minute walk to Public Works. The space is industrial but cozy, and I love the little community library in the red phone booth. That's such a cute touch and very on-brand for a neighborhood spot. It also turns into a wine bar at night. I ordered the iced matcha honey latte with almond milk. It was good, but definitely on the sweeter side. Almost milkshake-like. (Not frozen, just thicker and sweeter than a traditional matcha). I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for an earthy or classic matcha. The texture was a bit grainy with some settling at the bottom, and I did get a small clump in one sip. Not a big deal, just noticeable. If I had to guess, they use a pre-sweetened matcha powder. They don't advertise having pure or ceremonial matcha, so I'm not too pressed. Just sharing my experience. Service was quick and I got my drink within just a few minutes. There's plenty of indoor seating plus a spacious, dog-friendly patio. The vibe is very social and family-friendly, with lots of conversation, families, and groups. I personally wouldn't come here to study or work, but it seems like a great spot to meet with friends or family, or just a casual coffee run. I'd come back when I'm in the mood for something sweet. I'm curious to try the Cuban latte next time since it gets so much love. I'm glad I checked this place out.

I'm not someone who can tell you why a coffee is good, but I know when I like it, and I like it here every time. The staff are always friendly and the cafe has a great atmosphere. It does get busy, and the rushes can be distracting if you're trying to get work done. I enjoy being here enough that I don't mind. I've also bought their beans several times, for myself and as gifts. They're consistently high quality. The one downside is cost: it adds up if you're a regular like me. For me, though, it's worth it.

I've been here multiple times to do some coworking with my friends. The working tables are spacious and have plenty of outlets for the whole group. I got a lavender matcha for my morning caffeine and by lunch time I ordered a a prosciutto avocado toast with a galaxy ade for a refreshing drink. I wish I was given actual silverware though, because I was struggling using the plastic utensils to slice through the toast. Last month, I met a friend (an artist) here for coffee. As we were ordering our drinks, my friend's creative eye kicked in, and she inquired about one of the baristas' tattoo. Her response was dry and nonchalant: "It's a flower from the Philippines," despite my friend making several attempts to probe her for more information. There wasn't even an acknowledgment or standard courtesy for hospitality professionals such as "Thank you!" or "Good eye!" or "It means so much to me that you noticed." Hey, I also realize some people are more reserved, hate small talk, or maybe she was having an off day. So, I gave her some grace and let that slide. Then, after 20 minutes of waiting for our drinks to be made, I approached the counter to politely follow up. Before I could even say anything, the other barista said, "We're almost done making your drinks," in a firm and unapologetic tone. Once again, I was baffled by the poor communication skills and the insinuation that it was poor form for me to inquire about a 20-minute service delay at a (mostly empty) coffee shop. I decided to simply return to my table and make this my last visit to this location. Rating: 2.5 stars
