I've been to this coffee shop a few times, mainly because its conveniently located near where my dogs are groomed. I really wanted to like it, especially since I believe it's family-owned and I love supporting local businesses. That said, the atmosphere has consistently felt unwelcoming. I want to be clear that I am easygoing and don't expect over-the-top friendliness or bubbly customer service. But on multiple visits, I've walked in and not been acknowledged for a while; no eye contact, greeting, nothing. Other times, I've been met with silence and a blank stare. It's honestly weird. Today was actually the first time I was asked "what can I get you today?" here. Even so, after several visits with similar experiences, this spot feels like a gamble in terms of what kind of customer service I'll receive. I only went today because I was very tired, had a long day ahead of me, and I just didn't have time to drive further out. But I genuinely felt a small sense of dread as I drove the short distance there. I visit a lot of coffee shops in the area, and this is the only one where I literally pull up with hesitancy, wondering if I will be met with a cold demeanor. Ultimately, I've decided I won't be returning because I don't need to be anywhere that feels uncomfortable and unwelcoming. When I have a not-so-great experience somewhere, I'm apt to return again (if I enjoyed the product), because sometimes people have off days. But you know what, I've been here several times and at this point...to get a bad feeling before entering a coffee shop? Yeah, I did my due diligence & it's just never that serious to deal with all that to get a drink, lol. That said, there are positives worth mentioning. The shop is clean, quiet, and has plenty of outlets, making it a decent place to work if that's what you're looking for. There are also small dividers between the tables, so you get a sense of privacy from other seated customers. The lighting is on the dimmer side (no harsh overhead lights), and there's usually relaxing music playing. They also have some interesting and unique drink options such as the Mexican mocha and horchata latte. I got an iced sweet vanilla latte with almond milk this time. It was decent. It was also nice that the drink was brought to me at the table I'd been waiting at; that gesture was appreciated. Overall, while I love that this is a local, family-owned business and the drinks are good, the customer service aspect just makes it not worth it for me.

Skimos is proudly Mexican-owned and they don't hide it! From the flavors like Spicy Mexican Mocha and Horchata to the Serrano Avocado toast. It's a cute little grab and go cafe with some seating if meeting a friend for lunch or going on a solo coffee date. I had the Horchata latte which was not too sweet but average but the Mexican mocha was delicious. Reminded me of chocolate abuelita. We also tried the chicken pesto panini and California panini both were BOMB!

My husband and I had a hankering for a drink treat after spending a few hours in Lake Mead, so we decided to give Skimos a try. The space was clean with ample seating and lots of outlet plugs (hello to a great place to get some work done). There was a large bookshelf in the backroom with boardgames, books, and magazines to enjoy. There was also one gender neutral restroom onsite; door code needed. The barista counter was clean with a display case of goodies. Both baristas working were friendly. I decided to try an iced vanilla matcha latte. The matcha was vibrant in color which tells me it's good quality; the vanilla used was not my favorite though as it tasted a tad artificial. My husband got an iced Mexican chocolate - this was delicious! I definitely stole a few sips of his drink and I could tell he thoroughly enjoyed it because he drank it so fast haha! I really appreciate that Skimos offers a large variety of drinks for us non-coffee drinkers in addition to their coffee / espresso offerings. We'll definitely be back to try more from their menu.

This is my second time coming to Skimo's Coffee Shop, and I absolutely love it here. They have great options for both coffee and food, and the place itself is so cozy. I especially love that they even have games in the back--it's such a fun touch. The staff are also incredibly kind and welcoming. I would definitely come here every day if I lived closer, and I'll for sure be coming back.

Walked in early afternoon the place was dimmer than most. Seemed like a cool place to study as they have a back room, separate from the front coffee area. I was kind of bummed as my Matcha tea latte tasted a little watery/blend. I asked the worker if there was anything I can add to it like sugar or syrup said that they would have to charge me for syrup. I know all coffee places are different, but most accommodate to least ensure your drink is to your liking. On the flipside, we did enjoy the food as it was nice, fresh and tasty! The gentleman that helped us towards the end was very friendly and nice. He asked if everything was okay, but by that time I gave up on matcha latte. Unfortunately, don't think we would be back though.

Super cute coffee shop! I highly recommend the Mexican mocha with the avocado egg toast!! Food was great, coffee was delicious and not too sweet, which I really appreciated. The workers were very helpful and gave great recommendations! I'll be back to try more items there!

Got the blended matcha, creme brulee latte, California panini, and everything avocado toast. Blended matcha was a nice blended cold slush but it needed way more matcha. The matcha was not authentic. Creme brulee latte was good. It had a nice touch of creme brulee and coffee was delicious. The California panini was so delicious! I liked how they actually press it real tight and it was perfectly filled with just right amount of sauce. The toast was fresh and crunchy. The add of avocado and the everything bagel was perfect. Staff were friendly and service was good.

I cannot say enough about the amazing quality and flavor of the food that Skimos coffee shop sells! I went for a coffee date with my girlfriend, and we both had a seasonal coffee and the Egg salad, avocado toast. The pumpkin spice latte was the perfect amount of pumpkin, coffee, and spices that was not overbearing. The avocado toast was the creamiest and most delicious I have ever had. This is a walk up and order restaurant. Your food will be brought to your table when it is complete, I believe this is a small family owned facility and they are definitely doing something right! The servers were kind and the food was brought out in a decent time. There are a small selection of seats that offer both booth and chair options. This is a great place to study or go catch up with a friend.

Great hidden gem. Very cozy and quiet coffee shop. We always have great experience at this coffee shop. They offer a great variety of drinks and food. Our favorite are their lattes. They are so flavorful with smooth and creamy taste. You can taste the difference in a quality of the coffee. We have tried their pastries and they were fresh and delicious. The place is super clean, quiet and welcoming. We liked the ambiance and the service was great too. They are very attentive and quick. We have felt welcomed and appreciated. We are highly recommend it and definitely will be back!!!

I went here a few weeks ago when my gym was having my work done, and my back up gym is in the same parking lot. I didn't have good experiences here in the years prior but decided to give it another shot and it wasn't bad. The service was much better and quicker. I even noticed that they upgraded a little bit so things are obviously going good here. I went again today and was immediately greeted by the people working. They took my order and I had my cold brew and coffee cake in about 2 mins. I ended up sitting there for about an hour reading and saw that this newer team was operating much faster and seemed to care more about their guests coming in. It was rather impressive. My cold brew tasted good and I'm excited to have my coffee cake for dessert later. I'll be coming back here again and see if I continue to have the same positive experiences. Maybe it'll get up to a 5 if they keep it up.

Tucked into a large parking lot, across from Planet Fitness lies this little gem of a shoppe. Met the co-owner (Alex) who operates the business with his mother for a partner. Such a lovely idea! This spot has been here for 10 years but it was our first time. Came in because my spiritual healer said to get some lavender in my life to soothe me adrenals, and I'm glad I took her advice. Saw the glowing review for a lavender latte on Yelp by another reviewer, and they were correct. My Lavender sweet cream latte hit the spot and my husband's sugar free salted caramel brulee latte with the perfect amount of foam was the best sugar free latte I believe I've ever had. Very comfy booth style seats pushed together in the back with some soothing piano over the speakers. This whole place has a very chill vibe. My nervous system thanks you, Alex and Alex's mom. When we come back to the area on Dec 17th to run our next show at Grey Witch, I'll recommend this place to all the wrestlers who are looking for coffee before the show.

Do I recommend this business? No. Service - as soon as we came in, we weren't welcomed in, person at the counter didn't know the flavors of the muffins.........the....3...muffins. okay? Then the owner is assuming was called to confirm and she looked tired, irritated, and not interested in selling us the muffins. Listed the flavors without smiling or looking us in the eye and then walked away. It wasn't busy and the employee didn't bring us our drinks or anything. When we walked out? Nothing. Radio silence. Food and price - I got a "large" drink, no extras, and the egg salad toast. It was 1 piece of toast with some slightly ripe/slightly not ripe enough yet avocado, topped with mango salsa. Very weird combo. I'm open to trying new foods and flavors but this was a pass for me. Those 2 thing? $21. Lol are you joking? And everyone says "support small businesses"...ya okay.

I am a huge coffee aficionado (to me, a…read moreday is never complete without a cup of coffee!) and I try to visit new coffee shops that I've never been to before on a regular basis. Savor Coffee literally can't be missed. It's right across the street from Sunset Park and it can be easily seen while you're driving up and down Eastern. Parking is incredibly easy and they have multiple spaces available, especially when it's not too busy. Since it was a nice day outside the day I was there, the door was propped open. This is a very cozy coffee shop. The music that they had playing in the background really fit the ambiance. I ordered a lavender matcha drink, but it looks like they only have one size available here, which was a small. It looked like the barista was making the drink in a homestyle fashioned kind of way, so it did take a while for it to come out. I've expressed interest in matcha drinks lately, with a little bit of lavender added in, and this one was really good! My hairstylist operates her salon out of her home, which took about 10-15 minutes to get to from here, and I was about halfway done with this drink right when I arrived and I finished it during my appointment. I really liked this place! I don't frequent Eastern too much but I wouldn't mind coming back here again.

After three visits, certain patterns become clear. The service was attentive throughout, with staff checking in frequently without being intrusive. The décor is visually distinctive and cohesive if you specifically enjoy the Alice-in-Wonderland aesthetic. The highlight of the food was the scones, which were genuinely excellent. They were balanced, flavorful, and structured well enough to stand on their own without jam or cream. In fact, they carried much of the experience -- and they're good enough that I'd happily continue ordering the scones to go on their own even if I didn't return for the full afternoon tea service. The tea itself had a calibration problem. Instead of brewing leaves directly in the pot or using a proper infuser, the tea was placed in a small strainer that required pouring hot water over the leaves into the cup. With relatively little leaf for the size of the pot, this setup restricts how the leaves expand and limits proper extraction. This is fundamentally a brewing-method issue rather than a tea-type issue -- regardless of whether the tea is black, green, or oolong, leaves need space to open and steep within the vessel rather than being constrained in a small strainer. As a result, the teas never fully developed the depth they should have. My first tea, a Ceylon blend I brew at home, tasted mostly like fragrance during the early pours because aromatic flavorings extract quickly while the tea body does not. It took several cups before the tea flavor came through, and by the fourth cup the leaves were already weakening. The second tea, an oolong, performed better but still felt borderline in terms of leaf quantity relative to the pot size. The savory items relied largely on simple assembly rather than distinctive preparation. The cucumber sandwich used fresh cucumber, but the rye toast was dry and had the uniform crumb and texture typical of commercially sliced rye rather than a freshly prepared or house-baked bread. The turkey sandwich used deli-style sliced turkey rather than roasted or carved turkey as the description implies, with pepper jack providing most of the flavor. The egg sandwich showed the eggs were hand-chopped rather than fully mashed, but the paprika functioned mainly as decoration rather than seasoning. Even the pasta salad tasted closer to a deli-style side dish than something composed specifically for an afternoon tea service. The dessert tier was where the experience weakened the most. In a traditional afternoon tea, this tier is typically where the pastry program showcases technique and variety. Nearly half the desserts were cookies, which already limits pastry variety. Several had a dense crumb with little visible butter structure, producing the dry texture typical of lower-butter cookie dough. The lemon cream puff had a soft, compressed shell rather than the light hollow structure expected from proper choux pastry, suggesting it had likely been frozen and reheated. The filling lacked the richness and eggy depth of pastry cream and instead tasted very sweet with a flat citrus profile closer to stabilized lemon filling. The chocolate mousse was dense and overly sweet, lacking the airy texture and bittersweet balance typical of mousse. The fruit tart was acceptable mainly because the berries were fresh, but the shell had the uniform crunch typical of a pre-made tart shell rather than hand-formed pastry. An afternoon tea service typically highlights a pastry program, so relying heavily on cookies makes the dessert tier feel limited rather than curated. A final inconsistency appears when the afternoon tea service is ordered to go: the tea provided is commercial tea bags rather than the loose-leaf tea used in the dining room. The contrast with the excellent scones makes the rest of the menu more puzzling. They clearly show the kitchen is capable of much stronger execution. If the same care applied to the scones were extended to the tea setup, savory items, and desserts, the entire afternoon tea service could be dramatically stronger. In conclusion, the afternoon tea program falls far short of what the experience promises. The tea setup prevents proper extraction, the savory items rely on basic deli-style assembly rather than thoughtful preparation, and the dessert tier lacks the technique and range expected of afternoon tea. Good service can support a strong food program, but it can't replace one. When most components fail to meet the standard the concept implies, the experience does not justify the price.
