We tried bad owl several years back and I hadn't had it since. I wanted to see how it was again years later and I was so pleasantly surprised. I had my usual latte and it was excellent! Crafted with care and precision, the barista did a fantastic job texturing the milk. She was clearly skilled and created some very cute, etched latte art. The drink was smooth and tasty and the espresso worked perfectly in the drink. My family and I finally stopped by Bad Owl Coffee after knowing it is inspired by Harry Potter, and it definitely gave off those magical vibes! The barista greeted us right away and let us know she'd be with us shortly. While we waited, we looked over the menu and immediately noticed all of the Harry Potter-inspired drinks. My husband ordered the Signature Bad Owl's Brew with espresso, I got the Roasted Almond Latte, and our daughter enjoyed the Kids' Bad Owl's Brew. We also shared a blueberry muffin. The Signature Bad Owl's Brew was actually delicious! The butterscotch flavor reminded us so much of butterbeer, and it's easy to see why it's one of their signature drinks. Yeesh, we haven't been to Bad Owl in years and we've honestly been missing out! We stopped in today for an afternoon beverage before grocery shopping. It was a slow afternoon so we had the entire space to ourselves. It was so cozy & welcoming with plenty of seating and lots of outlet plugs for anyone who works remotely or students who want to study. The space was immaculately clean too. I didn't catch the name of the blonde girl who helped us, but she was super friendly and personable. She even brought our drinks directly to our table since it was a slow afternoon. I like that almost every drink on the "signature" menu can be made with coffee or matcha. Today, I tried the Orange Chiffon Latte with Matcha and Oat Milk; very refreshing and unique! My husband had an iced Green Passionfruit Tea which was also very enjoyable on this hot day. We then split a buttered croissant, warmed up. They have a decent breakfast menu and I imagine many more pastries earlier in the day. They also have several types of bagged coffee to-go. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

Still the best coffee in LV. Today we got the classic avocado toast, as always, but my husband opted for the spicy avocado toast. It's made a little bit different differently. It was good, but he thinks he'll stick with the classic next time. The Pour Over we had was really good called Dancing Duende - a beautiful medium roast from Mexico with some chocolate notes. It was so good that we bought a bag of beans to take home to Phoenix. We bought a blueberry muffin for the road and it was very good also. We'll be back! read more

Cute coffee shop with great service! I ordered the Hot Earl Grey, and this was the first time I ever got tea in a teapot! It didn't taste super strong (so no acidic taste) which I liked, and I got multiple cups from it since they gave me the whole teapot. You definitely get a bang for your buck and plus, the teapot keeps the tea warm for longer. I came here mainly to journal and didn't realize it was more of a dark vibe in the shop, but thankfully they had some seating outside with more light. It was a good vibe. Bad Owl Coffee is such a fun and unique spot, especially if you are a Harry Potter fan! I had passed by many times since it's next door to where I get my nails done, and finally decided to stop in for a coffee before my mani-pedi. I decided to try something different and ordered the L'Orange Cappuccino. Honestly, I had very low expectations that I would actually be able to taste the orange flavor over the coffee -- but wow, was I wrong! It was absolutely incredible. The orange flavor came through perfectly while still blending beautifully with the rich cappuccino. Easily one of the most memorable coffees I've ever had. I needed a cup of coffee waiting for the post office to open and wanted to try something different so of course Yelp led me to Bad Owl. I'm not sure why it's called Bad Owl .... maybe the owl is just misunderstood? Either way, it's a great place to hang out, get a cup of coffee and a pastry item. This place definitely has a warm coffee house vibe. Plenty of great seating, with some high top seating as well, as well as a great pastry selection, breakfast sandwich selection, and of course coffee to go. I opted for the orange latte, and the croissant cinnamon roll. Now I had never heard of a croissant cinnamon roll before, but let me tell you something. This piece of pastry will change your life in the best of ways! Service is awesome, very friendly and welcoming and made the whole experience very pleasurable. Light, ultra chill music playing in the background makes a very calming environment. Plus they have a little book nook in the back, if you want to enjoy a cup and read some new literature. This has just moved its way into my top 10 coffee places near my house. For sure I'll be coming back! Bottom line? If you are looking 20 I highly suggest Bad owl... My barista was very nice and welcoming. The decor is pretty dark and wooden. You don't get the feel of HP, except for one particular corner. Can't believe I haven't updated my review for this place yet! One of my favorite coffee shops. Every year on my last working day of the year, I like to stop in here and work and that's exactly why I'm here! I ordered the butterbrew which is my faveee. Usually I get it with coffee, but since it was a little later I was trying to stay away from that. Still really good! I also got the avocado toast, which is one of my favorites, too. They have it all decorated for Christmas and are playing Christmas music so it's sooo cozy around this time of year. The staff was also incredibly friendly and nice. My avocado toast took a Ibit to come out and the girl apologized and it really wasn't a big deal! But I thought it was nice that she did anyway haha. Definitely a great coffee shop to come work or to catch up with friends. Amazing coffee and pretty darn good food, too! read more

This review is for the Henderson location. Overall, weak odd tasting coffee. Very dark decor. Zero "theme" aside from maybe 1 or 2 "named" menu items. Literally a different planet than the other location, which is bright, nice decor, and good overall. Orange Chiffon Late - 1/10. Had an odd aftertaste like the smell your grandmother's bathroom has - those scented little soap in the dish. Orange, chemical, and soapy? Thin, almost like they are using skim milk. It's like they made an Americano and then added flavorings? Also ordered the Mocha. Almost flavorless. 3/10. Better than Starbucks, but barely so. Both had zero espresso notes, though the underlying beans weren't bad. The Muffin was overheated and sticky - yet also grainy and had an undercooked texture? Worst muffin I've had in a very long time at a store. Extremely slow service. Not bad service, just slow. Three orders took 10 minutes slow. The only coffee we have had in the last 6 months that we couldn't finish. We stopped by Grouchy John's on the way home and it was dramatically better there. My overall impression was that this was very "Midwestern Meh", like the random coffee you get on a road trip. The type of place that doesn't really "get" how good coffee should taste. 3.5/10, cannot recommend. The Henderson location badly needs some TLC. read more

Normally I am ALWAYS down for coffee but sadly I had reached dmy. caffeine quota for the day when I wrolled in here for the first time around 4pm. My bestie and I were finishing our girls day celebrating my bday and wanted a beverage for the road trip from Anthem back to my side of town which is Centennial Hills. When you walk in you're embraced with the gentle smooth music in the background and the low lighting which instantly calms your soul. It was pretty quiet and we didn't;t have to wait in line @ all. The young man behind the counter greeted us with a warm smile and immediately asked what we would like to drink. I asked which of the iced teas were caffeine free and he admitted he was brand new and still learning the menu. He could not have been more polite. he asked his more experienced coworker and steered me towards the jasmine tea. I My friend ordered the Green iced tea. While we waited I hit the restroom. The decor throughout is a subtle nod to Harry Potter. Not full blown Disney but you get the HP vibe. The cozy corner with leather chairs and charming book shelf are quite inviting if you wanted to sit and enjoy your beverage by yourself or with friends. The restroom was exceptionally clean and well decorated also. When I came out our drinks were ready. I'm honestly not much of a tea drinker but I needed something to drink for the road and this was a nice treat. The tea was flavorful but not too strong. The cost was about $3.50 each for a large. Standard coffee house prices I assume. The large is a bit on the smaller side compared to SB. IDK if there are any of these on the West side but if there are I'd love to try their coffee next. The back is a little dark. Plenty of seating. They do have some food and pastry options. Unfortunately only one plant based item. Overnight oats and the avocado toast can be made vegan if you take off the ricotta/egg. I got the Oat-chata Latte. It was really good. A little sweeter of a drink than I normally get but really enjoyed it and nice already having oat milk in it vs having to swap milks and pay an extra fee. I have been to the southwest location, but I decided to try the southeast location in Henderson... I ordered the Breakfast Croissant with Avocado and the Butter Brew. Both were delicious. It has a semi Harry Potter theme but not really so don't believe everything that you see in social media. It is a really cute place though! You could definitely taste the banana, reminded me of a banana pancake. The Spanish latte in my opinion was too bland. Didn't really get much flavor out of it. It was very good and delicious was a little upset to see that it took 20 minutes to receive my order, especially since my drink was sitting behind the counter for most of that time. Now this is a cool place. Dark colors and wood, cool employees who really know their stuff, and just an all-around relaxing but mysterious vibe. First off, I don't drink coffee, but I could easily see myself hanging out here or getting some food or tea. I stopped in that morning to get my dad some coffee and a breakfast sandwich. I told the employee that I had no idea about coffee or tastes but that my dad likes light roasts, and he helped me pick out a bean and explained all of the nuances between that one and others that they had. He explained that they do a drip system so it would take a bit longer and I appreciated the heads-up. I also ordered the buns of power breakfast sandwich, and the total came to about $20 which I think is pretty pricey. It took about 10 minutes for the coffee and sandwich to be made, which again, a little bit longer than I would've thought but at least everything was made from scratch. My dad loved both the coffee and the sandwich, so it was completely worth the wait and the price. I think I may stop in here to get some whole beans for a gift! read more

I am a coffee shop snob and have been going to a new coffee shop every Friday. I came here on friday morning around noon and the parking lot was pretty full. When you walk in you see the dark, grungy vibe. There are industrial lights and it is dimly lit all throughout. There were a few tables open, but the seating area was okay. The tables had wired chairs and two long bar tables, with 2-4 soft chairs. There is also one booth (but it was taken the entire time i was there) Around 1pm there was a rush of people and a line pretty much 5 people deep ( i would avoid this time if you are stopping in for a quick coffee run) Drink: i ordered an almond milk latte. I tried it plain before i added any sweetener and you can really taste the coffee beans coming through the drink. I think it partly had to do with the almond milk being unsweetened. I am used to other coffee shops using thicker barista series almond milks, but it was still good regardless. Service: the staff was super friendly, and she even took the time to show me what almond milk they use. I am a fitness coach so understanding what is in my drinks is important. So i appreciate her doing that. Price: i paid about $6-7 dollars for my small almond milk lattee (12 oz), the milk is an extra cost which is pretty standard for most coffee shops. They had 4 different sizes too, id be surprised by people who order the extra large, but im not one to judge haha. I liked this coffee shop for a more relaxed, cozy feel. read more

If you know me and have read all my previous Yelp reviews on local coffee spots, you know that I am a huge fan of them! Bad Owl was my most recent coffee spot discovery. They are located on the corner of Eastern and Horizon Ridge right next to Crumbl Cookies. I walked in and was greeted by a darker, Harry Potter-like theme. There is also a police box (or Tardis for all you Doctor Who fans out there) sitting in a corner next to the entrance, which I ended up sitting behind of. This is literally the perfect place to study or work, with lots of seating on the inside and the outside. Walking in, I was greeted by the friendly young man behind the counter. They have lots and lots of food and drink options to choose from! After looking over their drink menu, I ordered a 20 oz (extra large) lavender white mocha latte and a chocolate chip muffin as a small breakfast item, warmed up. I also got myself a cool sticker, which cost an additions $1. For some reason, any kind of coffee with lavender added in really makes it taste better. The chocolate chip muffin paired perfectly with this drink, but at the same time, I feel like I should've gone for something healthier instead. I'm happy that I discovered Bad Owl.
