They just seem to know what makes coffee Work. Public Works is a coffee bar that has called Henderson's Water Street home for years and years. I remember visiting once but maybe or maybe not buying a drink, then just never returning since it was a bit out of the water. But I relocated to a closer Henderson neighborhood and started checking out some of the nearby casinos, and it just seemed like a good idea to stop by today... and take advantage of a casino partnership as well. I tried two drinks. The Cold Brew ($7.00, 24 oz) felt like a dark roast at first but expressed mostly fruity notes later on. It was certainly smooth and low in bitterness and acidity. I also wanted to try a latte since that tends to be where these cafes get the most creative. The Cuban Honey ($7.00, 16 oz) was the recommendation of the employee at the register, and it was simple and tasty enough. Milk, honey, and cinnamon are some very classic and comforting flavors, and they're beautifully balanced in this latte. I was also interested in trying a quiche ($5.95), so I did. They come as a compact "personal" size and apparently just get heated warm for you even if you're taking them to-go. The Florentine is definitely spinach-forward but also seems to have mushrooms and caramelized onions. The crust is suitable, the egg custard isn't the most amazing, and it leans a bit salty overall, but it's an enjoyable food option. I probably blew past the parking lot which I'm vaguely aware of, but that's because parking was actually available on the street. Some spots were marked for 12 min only, but there were plenty of open unmarked spots a few yards up. The place was almost empty around Saturday lunch too. I have no idea why since it seemed quiet enough for a study or work spot. Public Works has filled a coffee-seeking niche in this area of Henderson for a long time, and hopefully they'll do so for years to come. If you play at Emerald Island or Rainbow Club, ask the casino about using points here since it's as good as money.

First time here and loved it! The place itself had a lot of good seating and an outside patio too! The service was amazing and the two guys working were nice and had good vibes! I got a cold brew coffee with oat milk and toffee nut flavoring. The taste of the coffee was delicious! They also have the small ice that's fun! Will be back to try some more coffee and other menu items! They also have beer and wine that I want to come back and try!

Excellent service Excellent coffee Laid back atmosphere/ambiance is hipster This was my first time coming here, as every time I'm on Water Street, they are closed. I'm so sad that I've never been here before!!! This place is awesome! Coffee and some breakfast items are available in the mornings, and evening time they are a really cool wine bar (yes, yes, I will be coming back for vino!) Tons of seating available, and they have covered seating outside as well. Dog friendly patio, as far as I could tell, as well. Very clean and super cute indoor area. They even have live music on certain days. Swing by and support LOCAL! This place is better than Starbucks, for sure.

I hadn't been here in a long while, and thought I'd give this place a go. My daughter and I ordered a PSL and a cinnamon roll. The coffee was not too bold, and the pumpkin flavor was not over the top or too light either. The cinnamon roll was fresh. They get them from Flemming's European Bakery on water street. I would have liked a few more options for food, but I understand that with fresh offerings, you get more selection the earlier you come. There wasn't a line when we arrived, and they were prompt with the coffee as well. We liked the comfy chairs they have available. However, they also have cafeteria style tables and high tops for people who need a workspace. I liked the phone booth of books. I thought that was a clever use of space. I was also surprised to learn about the attached wine bar. The last time I was here, that wasn't there...so it's been awhile. I'm glad I made it back.

Stopped by after at an early Saturday morning and figured we'd try out their coffee and breakfast. They're located in the Water Street District and it was nice seeing that the area has been cleaned up. The coffee shop/wine bar has a cozy ambiance and is self seating, definitely would get crowded if you're here later in the day. We got two iced vanilla latte as well as the salmon lox toast and the Loraine quiche. Coffee came quickly and food took a while, big overall the wait wasn't too bad. Coffee is decent but not the most flavorful, and the food had good portions and plenty of flavor as well. There's not much service for the mornings, as you order at the counter and get your coffee and food from the counter when they're ready. They're also using disposable utensils and to go boxes, so it feels more of a grab and go place than a sit down, relaxing coffee spot. Give it a try when you're in the area!

I paid a visit to nearby City Hall to drop off my electoral ballot and I decided to swing by Public Works Coffee Bar for a coffee and a light snack on my way home. This Public Works is the standalone location, with the other one being inside America First Center, the arena where the Silver Knights play. I've actually never been this far down Water Street before and was amazed to see new local business that I've never seen before, especially Public Works. There were a few parking spaces right out front, but despite the ridiculous heat that we're in right now, I chose to park in the parking lot just up the street and walk over because, I did not dare to parallel park on the street, which is something I haven't done since my driver's test over a decade ago. The staff was full of energy and were singing along to the early 2000's music playing. Heck, it made me want to sing along with them! With it being so hot outside, I ordered a large iced coffee with vanilla flavoring and a bagel with cream cheese as my light snack. They have a very nice, spacious patio outside but I chose to remain inside due to the heat. The coffee really hit the spot and it just burst with that vanilla flavor upon my first sip. The bagel with cream cheese, which was warmed up, was soft and had lots of added flavor to it with the cream cheese. I had the first half as my snack for that day and the second half as my breakfast the next day. The best part is that my bagel didn't dry out overnight, which meant it was still edible. I loved the phone booth inside which had books and Polaroids of random dogs! This reminded me of my recent trip to Europe, where I saw a real life but out of service phone booth in Scotland that resembled the one here. If you're in or around Water Street and need a coffee fix, Public Works is your place. Come check them out!

Back again for my breakfast cravings. Today's egg bites, add bacon and avocado were different in appearance but delivering the same satisfying taste! Fast. Friendly. Fulfilling.

I like going to local coffee places over larger chains, so when I saw this one I had to go. The drinks that I got tasted amazing. I got a honey/lavender iced matcha also an iced toffee-nut latte. The service was also fantastic. The girl at the counter was super sweet even though clover didn't want to load for her. The shop itself is super cute. I love the mural that's painted on the outside of the building, and the decor inside

Excellent Service! The Staff is always friendly and helpful when we come here. This is our third time trying this place out and we loved it the first time! The problem is we enjoyed everything so much we kept forgetting to take pictures before eating. Love the Cuban Honey coffee, the Lavender, Caramel and Chocolate Latte. The Lox and Bagel is to die for, if you want to share ask for it open faced, and my number one favorite is the Avocado Pesto Toast! I will eat this until the Apocalypse!!!

Been here before but it was crowded and noisy so we haven't been back. This Saturday around 11:30am was perfect. There were some ppl there but plenty of seats/tables to enjoy. They have slightly renovated since the last time I can here with nicer bar stools and nicer furniture. Looks like they are going to stay open later this June as they are opening a wine bar of sort. Can't wait for it. The coffee is always nice here to enjoy. We got our lattes and worked away. WiFi was easy to connect. Very clean shop. Workers were all attentive and there were a steady amt of ppl coming to grab their day's coffee fix. Plenty of seatings outside as well. It was too windy today for us to sit outside but would love to do that on a nice day.

This coffee shop is in the water district in Henderson and is nicely decorated. We had the matcha honey and cheese egg bites and both were good. The service could be better but will try again.

There is live music every Friday & Saturday from 6pm-9pm out on the patio, but they pipe the music inside as well, which is a nice feature. They have a pretty extensive drink menu and the bar tender was very knowledgeable about the wine. I asked for a red that wasn't too dry and he recommended a delightful wine that was more on the sweet side and not too dry. My friend ordered a very dirty martini and she said it was perfect. They have a small selection of food including a Charcuterie Plate, Baked Brie & Fig Preserves, Mixed Nuts & Marinated Olives, Caprese Salad, 3 types of pizza, and Chocolate Lava Cake to satisfy a sweet tooth. We ordered the Charcuterie Plate and were not disappointed. The only downside to this space is that it is a little confined inside, and once it is full of people, it gets a little noisy. Other than that, great place for a casual drink or two and a snack.

You can choose between having wine by the glass (red and white wine available) or you can try their tasting flights. We were given a food and wine menu to start off with. Lots of wine choices, but limited food choices. For food, we decided on their 12" cheese pizza and their Charcuterie table. For our wine choices, I had the Sauvignon Blanc dry white wine, my mom had the Mist Muscat Canelli white wine, and my dad had the Whimscal Semi-Dry Riesling white wine. While my parents only had one glass each, I decided to have two glasses of my own because it was just so good! The Sauvignon Blanc had that fruity flavor to it with just a hint of green apple and grapefruit. While I didn't get the chance to try the Charcuterie table, which had numerous amounts of meat and cheese on it, the pizza was excellent, cheesy, and shareable. I didn't read the menu well enough to see the chicken breast was breaded and fried - that's on me for not reading closely and expecting grilled - but even so, after pulling the breading off, the chicken itself was rubbery and hard to cut with a butter knife.
