First time here and first time at the Lifeguard Arena. We've visited the original spot (apparently it looks like it's a block down the street!) It's a little close to the first location but I'm sure they do well being that they are in the arena. Coffee was fantastic, service was great!

Great service. Staff is always super friendly. need to tidy up though. A little dusty.

PW2 is as great as PW1, with the only difference being that it's located inside the Lifeguard Arena. Oh, and this location has longer hours than the original which is just down the block. My go-to is the Ice Blended Cuban Honey Latte with oat milk: I'm addicted to it. The staff is always great and this is a terrific spot for patrons of the rink. #locallove

This place is great, there's not much more to say! They are always quick with your order and always friendly. I love that both this location and the first one are an equidistant walk from my work but I love that this one is inside Lifeguard Arena. It gives me an excuse to take a break near the cool ice and also get something to drink on these extremely hot days.

Service was friendly and quick. Drinks are tasty. It's nice to have a spot for a warm beverage while watching ice hockey!

From Ube Ensaymada to a Turon Brulee Latte, they have it all and more. Plenty of seating and definitely the right vibes for a productive study sesh. Brandon and John were so kind and helpful when ordering, guiding us through their menu and pastry options. They truly brought the meaning of "kapamilya" so shoutout to them!! We ended up ordering a Pizza Croissant and Pistachio Banana Bread, which were both delicious! The Pizza Croissant was just the right amount of savory, which contrasted nicely with the nutty and sweet flavor of the Pistachio Banana Bread. We also ordered a classic Ensaymada, which is this fluffy bread with a light cream on top! Get it warmed, and it is SOOOO good to pair with your coffee. As for our drinks, we ordered a Ferrero Latte, a Pistachio Latte, and a Flat White. The Flat White really showcased the quality of their beans, which was only enhanced in the lattes. The Ferrero was silky smooth, and honestly tasted like a melted Ferrero Rocher. The Pistachio was nutty and subtle, which complemented the Ferrero greatly. If you want a taste of that Filipino warmth, definitely stop by Middle Black Sheep! We definitely plan on coming back to try the rest of the menu, and so should you.

I found a space and only had about a two-minute walk to Public Works. The space is industrial but cozy, and I love the little community library in the red phone booth. That's such a cute touch and very on-brand for a neighborhood spot. It also turns into a wine bar at night. I ordered the iced matcha honey latte with almond milk. It was good, but definitely on the sweeter side. Almost milkshake-like. (Not frozen, just thicker and sweeter than a traditional matcha). I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for an earthy or classic matcha. The texture was a bit grainy with some settling at the bottom, and I did get a small clump in one sip. Not a big deal, just noticeable. If I had to guess, they use a pre-sweetened matcha powder. They don't advertise having pure or ceremonial matcha, so I'm not too pressed. Just sharing my experience. Service was quick and I got my drink within just a few minutes. There's plenty of indoor seating plus a spacious, dog-friendly patio. The vibe is very social and family-friendly, with lots of conversation, families, and groups. I personally wouldn't come here to study or work, but it seems like a great spot to meet with friends or family, or just a casual coffee run. I'd come back when I'm in the mood for something sweet. I'm curious to try the Cuban latte next time since it gets so much love. I'm glad I checked this place out.

I remember visiting once but maybe or maybe not buying a drink, then just never returning since it was a bit out of the water. But I relocated to a closer Henderson neighborhood and started checking out some of the nearby casinos, and it just seemed like a good idea to stop by today... and take advantage of a casino partnership as well. I tried two drinks. The Cold Brew ($7.00, 24 oz) felt like a dark roast at first but expressed mostly fruity notes later on. It was certainly smooth and low in bitterness and acidity. I also wanted to try a latte since that tends to be where these cafes get the most creative. The Cuban Honey ($7.00, 16 oz) was the recommendation of the employee at the register, and it was simple and tasty enough. Milk, honey, and cinnamon are some very classic and comforting flavors, and they're beautifully balanced in this latte. I was also interested in trying a quiche ($5.95), so I did. They come as a compact "personal" size and apparently just get heated warm for you even if you're taking them to-go. The Florentine is definitely spinach-forward but also seems to have mushrooms and caramelized onions. The crust is suitable, the egg custard isn't the most amazing, and it leans a bit salty overall, but it's an enjoyable food option. I probably blew past the parking lot which I'm vaguely aware of, but that's because parking was actually available on the street. Some spots were marked for 12 min only, but there were plenty of open unmarked spots a few yards up. The place was almost empty around Saturday lunch too. I have no idea why since it seemed quiet enough for a study or work spot. Public Works has filled a coffee-seeking niche in this area of Henderson for a long time, and hopefully they'll do so for years to come. If you play at Emerald Island or Rainbow Club, ask the casino about using points here since it's as good as money.
