I never have a terrible experience here. I would consider myself a weekly regular. The line inside is always moderate, but when it's long the baristas do a good job of pushing people through quickly. I was shocked the first time I walked past the drive through and saw idled cars waiting to order as far back as two blocks down the street. Crazy! I'm not sure why people don't park and walk in to order. It would most certainly be quicker and there is never a lack a of parking available... This is a daily occurrence right around rush hour, so if you need a cup of joe in a hurry, I suggest you park your car and go inside. The coffee is always tasty and fresh. Sometimes I have to ask for milk when the container is empty, but the milk/sugar station is usually clean, stocked, and well maintained. There is plenty of seating available during "off" times but if you want to sit and plug in your device/s you had better get there before the evening rush. I think a lot of students come here to study so plugs are in high demand. WiFi connection can be slow depending upon the number of people connected at any given time. However, it is free! read more

I came In to this Starbucks to get my coffee and the lady working held her finger up and said "hold on" in a very rude manor. She wasn't even wearing a name tag so I couldn't get her name but she was wearing a black bandana on her head. Very rude and told me she couldn't hear back there so told me to speak louder in a very rude tone. Didn't even say thank you. Terrible service. read more

Two days in a row we showed up to grab our mobile order and after waiting for 10 minutes in the store (20 minutes after placing the order online) they hadn't started our drinks. You have to literally tell them that you are there in order for them to start. Might as well have just walked in. Always been happy with the service here, staff are friendly and positive. Drink quality is great, and flavor is consistent. My wife and I come often to enjoy the common patio seating area and unique fire pit seating. Only complaint is the smokers who blatantly ignore the "Smoke Free Patio" signage and absence of security presence to enforce it. I wish management would press the issue with the property owners. As a patron I don't feel empowered to confront smokers, and as a non smoker with children I will just find another business to patronize. read more

Worst Starbucks in the area. They move like pond water. Not only does it take forever to order a drink, it takes even longer to get it. You'd think the barista would be ahead of the game with slow cashier. Web ordering does not help. Every time I web order, my drinks are completed in a staggered pattern that destroys the desire to socialize in unison with drinks in hand. Not sure why this place has 3 stars but this is my first time at this location. The lady made my night; unreal friendly attitude and a fantastic cup of peppermint hot chocolate. Many times it's made just real quick but this lady made it authentic and it tastes better than usual. I feel like people should be rewarded more often for their attitude and service. These days, service is so mediocre, so the folks that do an outstanding job should be recognized. read more

Came in during the BOGO to grab a quick iced tea, and even though the baristas were neck deep in mobile orders and had a line out the door, they were all very relaxed, friendly and welcoming. This is one of my favorite Starbucks, and for many reasons! For starters, they have a great location with a beautiful outdoor patio that is shared by all the businesses. It is great to come do work when it's not too hot! On top of that, their employees and service are amazing. Last time I was there, Amanda came out and brought my coffee to the patio for me so that I could stay with my laptop and not have it be taken. Outstanding service! The beauty of Starbucks is there are many locations to choose from when you're ready for a coffee. This location is one of my regular stops. ALL of their baristas are super cool, but they have one in particular named Pollyanne who seems to be there the most when I visit. She's a a total sweetheart and has a good sense when a customer is in a hurry or in the mood for a little banter. either way she and the whole location have consistantly nailed my drink order and always deliver service quickly and attentively. also - you can't beat the fire pits if you want to stay for a while and chat with friends. read more

Starbucks is known for their good service, but this place is horrible. I placed a mobile order and I asked the guy behind the counter if I could grab them....since he didn't open his mouth to help...he said...I can get it...you just have to ask. I've got a list here of reasons they suck. This is info over the course of two visits. It gets progressively worse so bear with me. Visit 1: 1. Ordered an Iced Green Tea Latte with soy milk. They didn't shake the soy milk before making it, so it had specks of white chunks floating in it. Ew. Never had this problem at any other starbucks 2. Gave me the last Iced Lemon Loaf out of the display case and it was really hard and stale. Ew. Visit 2: 1. Saw the kid in front of me (high school age) order a frappe, and an additional cup of venti ice water (its a suuuuuper hot day). The woman (her name is Pollyanne) tell him shes going to give him a grande cup because of the drought. She didn't ask if it was okay to give them a smaller cup, she TOLD them 2. Barista snapped at me "your welcome" when I didnt immediately say "thank you" to him upon receiving my drink (i usually do say thank you, i was just double checking to make sure the drink was right since the mistake yesterday) 3. Upon talking to the "lead on duty" named Mary about that guy's rudeness (i was talking calmly about it, and quietly), she interrupted me to say I was not allowed to use profanity in her store (i had calmly said that he was being "fucking rude"). Upon expressing my shock that her reaction to my poor treatment was to tell me what I can and cannot say, she continued telling me that I'm not allowed to use that word there. I got up and left at that point and upon finishing this review, I am calling Starbucks's customer service number. read more

I don't know why it's taken me so long to write a review about this Starbucks and Pollyanne! I moved to Dana point a year and a half ago and this is the best Starbucks in the area for sure! Pollyanne is invaluable! I keep coming back because of her. She goes over and beyond her job ALL the time! She always remembers my name and drink and that's pretty spectacular because I can't even barely remember what day it is. She makes the customers feel very welcomed and appreciated. The service here has always been the worst. Today was no different. They have 2 order entry stations. 1 was open so I waited in line to order. When I get there to order the lady says she'll be right back and walks off. I wait for 5 min when another girl starts taking orders at the other entry station(the stations are right next to each other!). Not once asking if I had been helped yet and starts taking orders from people that are behind me in line. When I tell her I haven't ordered yet and I'm still waiting in line to order she gives me attitude and reluctantly takes my order. This is my first time reading YELP review of this Starbucks location. Quite frankly, I am appalled that our "friend" from San Francisco would, or could write such a review. Factually, I serriously question the sequence, accuracy and response to the events mentioned. I serriously challenge his conclusions as well, especially in that particular store and from the person mentioned. I've been frequenting the DP store for over 5 years with 4 - 7 visits per week. I drive past 3 other Starbucks locations to get to that store. Over the years, I've noticed several, "out of the ordinary", customer-problem situations occur. Without exception, each situation was resolved quickly and peacfully with the customer being pleased as the outcome. The DP Starbucks staff are professional, curtious and well-mannered, all, of whom, going out-of their-way to successfully resolve issues. It is my plan to continue frequenting and enjoying Starbucks products and the friendly staff at the DP location. read more

Every time I come to this location they are understaffed and everybody's running around trying to do their best, but it's obvious that they need more employees. I go there every weekend and the employees change very frequently.The only people I know now are Mary and Foroz. They're really friendly and nice. The only thing is it takes forever to get to the register and then the people on the register are very slow. It takes the same amount of time for them to take my order and make my drink. There's always only a couple of people there and there are people standing in the line outside the door specially on Sundays. It's irritating. I had to leave a few times because I didn't have time to wait. Last Sunday they only had 3 employees working right after the church time. It's ridiculous. read more

There was no one else in line and she spoke to us with an attitude that completely changed our mood when we walked in. She was abrupt, extremely rude, condescending, and made us feel rushed. Mobile orders are advertised as "no time to wait...". Not true, my drink took a very long time, plus when the barista finally was making my drink I noticed he was using the wrong milk. When I'm paying $5.50 for a drink I want it to be right. I've been going to this location for years, but looks like a new staff that is very disorganized and does not understand the menu.
