They weren't even busy. Finally we got attention and service. Barely any smile from the staff. It was just meh. Anyway, we ordered 1 Medium Strawberry Lemonade Twist and 1 Medium Acai Berry Smoothie. Smoothie was fine but oh my god they basically yell in your face, the experience was honestly uncomfortable. One girl was loudly shouting questions at customers in line instead of having normal conversations, which made the whole environment feel chaotic and impersonal. I get it, blenders are loud but it was over the top obnoxious. There was no warmth, just a lot of noise and pressure. A perfect refreshment place for South Californian weather. We were on our way to San Diego and stopped by the near Albertsons. Noticed this small juice shop near by. Raw Juices, Classic Smoothies, Specialty Smoothies, Bowls... a rich menu. It was a sunny hot day and this place busy. We almost waited for 10 mins to place our order and waited for another 15 to get our drinks. Strawberry Wave, Mango Mania, Lava Flow and Chili Lime Tart. We loved all of them. chili lime tart was a surprise package! Bind blowing! Staffs were friendly and awesome. I can really sense why people like this place. Great choices and wonderful service! While waiting for my son to finish his work out at a near by gym, I stopped by Juice It Up for a smoothie for him and a Acai bowl for myself (I had finished by workout earlier). The gentleman who owns the place was so helpful in advising me on the choices I made and service was fast and very friendly. My bowl was full of goodies and I enjoyed each spoonful. My son said his "The Zone" smoothie was one of the best he has had in a long time. We will for sure be returning to Juice It Up for a post workout smoothie or juice. read more

I placed an order online and picked up within the first 10 mins. I have never been more unsatisfied with a purchase here than today. I always receive perfect products and always happy with them but today my products were completely melted when I picked up. It's as if I ordered juice instead of smoothies. I called because I was just not happy, the asst manager picked up the phone her name was Marisa she said she couldn't do anything about it, so I spoke to the owner who was first of all rude (Jim? I used to go here fairly often, but due to several factors such as the price increases, slow service, and generally bad customer service, I don't think I'll be coming here anymore. I order a large "The Zone", which is a banana smoothie with peanut butter and your choice of whey or soy protein. According to the menu, whey protein has more protein per serving, so I always go with whey protein. When I order, I ask "Could I have a large zone with whey protein?", and for a while that was it; they'd ask "Anything else?", I'd say no, and then pay. Recently (it's been a while now), they ask "What size?" followed by "With whey or soy protein?". I understand taking orders can be repetitive and the responses can become a bit instinctive, but if you're not catching yourself when I've already answered those questions, it shows a lack of listening. It's not a deal-breaker though; I come here for the smoothies, not the interaction. While waiting for your smoothie to be made, you can sit outside at the benches or metal tables, or inside at the benches. I always sit inside, which recently feels like a mistake. The benches are in the corner and the way they're arranged you're either looking straight into the store (where the employees are) or towards the chip display. Either way, the employees are in your field of view, so you can see them working, which, as of recently, just draws attention to how incredibly slow they are. They used to be FAST, like impressively fast. I'm talking smoothie on the blender by the time you're done paying, basically ready by the time you have a chance to sit down. But now, it's different. Now, they've almost never started it by the time you're done paying. And once they do start it, they move SO SLOW. That's not even where it stops though, unfortunately. When they pour it (and this isn't just a recent problem, they've basically always done it this way), there's pretty much always extra at the bottom that they don't offer you. So when I choose whey protein because I want more protein, it's kind of pointless, since a portion of it is going down the drain instead of into my cup. At the end of the day, it's an expensive smoothie, and I feel like I'm paying for the protein more than anything else. A large zone is like ten bucks, whereas I can go down the street and get a large smoothie (granted, it's only ~2/3 the size) for less than half the price, and get it served quickly without even having to get out of my car. If I need protein, maybe I can buy a pack of Beef Jerky or something. Juice It Up just isn't compelling enough to keep my business anymore. read more

My sister bought me a smoothie from them as a thank you while I slaved away building her apartment's IKEA furniture. I had her order me a Lava Flow and thought it was pretty good! Since I didn't pay for it, I'm not sure if the cost-to-size-to-tastiness ratio was worth it. I also didn't step foot into the location as she brought it back for me after she ran errands all morning, so I couldn't even tell you my impression of the place -- only of the product I sampled.
