Bowlology has two Southern CA locations in El Segundo and San Clemente at The Outlets. I was shopping there and was thirsty, so I dropped by. Their menu is simple and sweet. They serve Bohemian bowls (acai) and a variety of smoothies. The cashier was friendly and welcoming, and even hand-delivered the drinks to our table. Our smoothies came out within minutes. We ordered the MANGO MADNESS- mango, pineapple, and strawberry smoothie with apple juice base and the BLUE BREEZE- pineapple, banana, blue majik sorbet with vanilla almond milk base 16 oz for $8 each. 24 oz smoothies are only $2 more for $10. Great quality and value for the smoothies. Both smoothies were thick and had balanced flavors. The mango madness was refreshing, tart and sweet. The blue breeze was sweet and fatty due to the blue majik coconut sorbet, and reminded me of a beautiful Hawaiian day. Walked in and stood at the counter for nearly 5 minutes waiting for someone to come out. Two families were sitting down and it wasn't till after I waited that I realized had both been served. I was trying to give them a little grace, but finally I went to the door to wave someone to come out. A teenage girl comes out, no apology, smile or urgency, asks what i want, and when I change the order she seems even more annoyed. Talks about how to tip on the keypad by pressing a certain number and when I press skip she just walks away. I had already spent 10$ on a smoothie and considering it took her so long to come out and couldn't even give me a welcome, I wasn't going to tip. The place is small and the bathroom was blocked by chairs and a paper sign saying "no public restroom"so I go outside to sit on the chairs and I wait 10 ish minutes thinking they would come bring it out, when I finally look to see if it's ready my smoothie had been sitting on the counter and the girl was gone again in the back. The smoothie was also half frozen, so practically a lump in my cup that I could barely drink with the straw. Just a bad experience all around, definitely needs new employees. read more

Absolutely loved this chocolate dream bowl! It was beautiful in presentation, fruit was fresh and delicious, pita ya was tasty, the regular was actually really big so splitting this is an option, and then it didn't break the bank. The regular size was $12.00. It is nice when you walk in and the place is clean and cute, menu had enough options for your mood, and the service was great. The Açaí bowl flavors are good. The service is the worst! We stopped with grandkids for açaí bowls and were told that the Açaí was frozen and it'd be 15 or more minutes. This is Memorial Day weekend - so many people turned away! We left and got burgers but kids still wanted an açaí bowl. So we gave it another try. People came in to order Poke bowls and were told fish was frozen!! We ordered our açaí bowls and the girl went to the back. Another girl came out and asked for our order. OMG. Service people do not communicate. There's no one waiting to greet customers. Bowls took forever to get and they added nuts which we asked for no nuts please, since one of our grandkids cannot eat them. We gave up and got frozen yogurt two doors down. Sorry windows, chairs all scattered, cooler not stocked, tables dirty. 2 customer walked in stooped there for 2 mins before the employee came out. She orders an açaís bowl, no conversation/ interest from the employee, they went in the back to make is. Took them 14 minutes to make a single acai bowl. Meanwhile 4 people walked in waited and left. No one is ever at the front you almost have to throw a chair to get someone to come out and get you some service. The girl at the front always looks mad. While I waited 15 minutes along with 4 other customers 2 walked out after waiting so long. Loosing customers for lack of service. He came out the door and asked us repeatedly, confusing the order with the only other group in the store and continually forgetting what we even ordered. The worst Poke, no soy sauce, i grab the last spoon. We bought to go and they give us Poke bowl with no lid, No wasabi, whatsoever. Service is worse, unfriendly, feel like begging her for food. My family and ordered their acai bowls and although they took a little while to come out, we highly enjoyed them! The acai bowl did not melt very fast and the toppings tasted all very fresh and organic. My family ordered the ocean bowl, the chocolate dream bowl, the peanut butter bowl and a couple that I forget. We recommend ordering a regular because a large bowl is literally a LARGE bowl, it is huge and a regular one filled us up fast. Staff are really nice, patient and accommodating to customers who never know what they want with hipster foods such as acai bowls (i.e. my big Filipino family).
