You can't miss him, he's a tall glass of sunshine with whipped cream on top. Even when I'm not interacting with him, he seems to love his job and in the spaces between ordering and obtaining my drink, I am offered the distractions of his bouncy and chatty displays - like shots of humanity while I wait for my shots of espresso. One of the cleanest Starbucks! Food and drinks are the same as any other Starbucks. I also don't think the drinks should be based on the location but rather the barista that makes it. First time here, I needed a place to chill and work. They had a lot of seats available from communal table, high top tables, and lounge chairs. This location is not only clean, the service is swift, always great and friendly, and as well as other employees at this location know what they're doing and do it well! So I normally have no comments about this Starbucks - average as far as SBs go. Today this guy has his dog in the store - no special jacket depicting service dog status. The guy only got a water and was there for over 2 hours on his iPad. Dog would walk around establishing perimeter - and finally the manager said he needs to be on a leash. I thought there was rules about animals in food establishments. Dog kept sniffing people and the guy was oblivious to discomfort of patrons. The dog kept sniffing around my food and licked my ice tea cup (gross). Go down the road to the other Starbucks on Golden Lantern. Where it can be twice as busy and you will still get your order twice as fast along with someone who says hello or thank you. The property manager has dropped a cool, two or three mill in making this one of the nicest stores in Orange County. Demand the best from this store. There's no excuse why this location should be sub-par. Reward the barista with a nice tip if they do well and let them know it. If they don't make muster, ask the barista to provide your next drink free. This is how Howard Schultz wants it to be. Please oblige him and enjoy his store as he meant it to be enjoyed. One of my dearest baristas, Molly, used to work in this store. She was my "go to" when I worked mutual funds in Newport Beach. 5:30am, every morning, I could stop off at SBUX in Laguna off PCH, right next to the movie theater. I got out of the financial buss after 9-11 and didn't take PCH to work anymore. Surprisingly, Molly showed up at this store almost ten years later. Up until last year, when she left to move to an inland store, Molly would not allow that rampant, rude behavior other customers have described. When she left, things got bad. Sure, some online orders come up, maybe a person or two come in and pick up. 15 minutes later I mention to employee, "Is it possible my sandwich order has been missed?" Her reply. "I don't know. I'm going on a 10 minute break". My sandwich shows up a few minutes later. I just don't get it. I regularly (almost every morning) come here because everyone is so kind, warm, and welcoming. Yes, they remember me because I stop by on my way to work regularly, but I want to stop by. I see the same other guests on the daily too - who chat with the baristas, so I know I'm not the only one who feels appreciated by the staff here. I feel comfortable and I often, also, grade papers in the wee hours of the morning to which I'm asked how my school year is going. Caitlyn, Sam, and Patricia (and I'm sorry that I'm not including everyone's names) always work their tails off and I'm appreciative of their work ethics and that they genuinely care to provide the best experience they can for those who stop in. In reading some other reviews, I can appreciate that people get frustrated when orders go wrong from time to time, but I've also seen the staff maintain their calm under pressure, even in the face of a lack of compassion for human error. So they have my respect and appreciation. This store will continue to be my "go-to" location. read more

I really enjoy this Starbucks. I have been coming here for more than 10 years. There have been many faces that have come and gone which make this Starbucks feel like home to me. Pollyanne is one of those people who has continuously made me want to come back. Working in previous positions in customer service & management, I know how customer service can be crucial at times, and heavy on the workers. I read a few views in regards to this Starbucks some being negative, people have and will be entitled to their own opinion. But when I come here I feel welcome everytime that is what keeps me coming back. There is such heavy foot traffic here so of course, they are going to get busy but that is what the service industry is and some comments make it seem like it is their fault. The mobile app now days will enable you to beat the traffic if you would like your drink "promptly" order your drink via the mobile app. Even at 8:59 PM I have seen them treat a customer who is rushing in with the same amount of respect even though they are a minute to close. The new staff is amazing: Nigel always remembers my drink orders and always makes me feel welcome. Is always happy and makes customers feel happy just like the rest of the staff. Zach is always nice and makes sure the location is clean and if he sees anything out of place he jumps to make sure it is cleaned: which is such a rarity compared to other Starbucks locations. Madi is always really sweet and makes sure I am always taken care of and gives the Starbucks a very good vibe. Codi as well. This will probably be the longest review I will ever write but it is much deserved. If anyone from Starbucks Corporate reads this please train all of your workers as you do this location. read more

I love the humble and pleasant attitude of young student baristas at this location, you're doing a great job, thank you so much! The ones who worked for many years there...it depends on their mood and if I'm having any special modifications to my drinks, I usually try to avoid modifications with them and might just go to the different store during their shift, as I don't like when baristas gets annoyed if the drink is not just the regular off the menu item. I also love ordering with the app (saves both our time explaining stuff), and then just picking them from the mobile order stand ;) My only request would be to move mobile order pickup stand to the other side of the store, so that I wouldn't have to go through the whole store to get my mobile order. But that's just a slight thing, it's just not the usual location, as most other Starbucks stores have their mobile order stand closer to the entrance. Just stopped by and got three drinks, pretty simple. They left the caramel off one of the drinks. Not sure how since Caramel is in the name of the drink. I called and talked with the manager "Avery". I explained to her about the issue and that the person who helped me was a trainee and looked to the other cashier for help, probably Avery, who refused to help her. Avery told me to come back in for another drink. That was her fix. Well I don't have time to stop back in to fix the drink. I bought the drinks for people that work for me and you know how people are about their Starbucks drinks. Avery became rude to me when I said the other cashier treated the trainee like an idiot. The cashier made the Trainee feel stupid and wouldn't help her. Avery said I didn't need to talk to her like that. Starbucks is loosing their charm. Apparently this location is undergoing renomations tonight causing the location to close early at 7:30pm. I walked up at 7:32 pm. The employee was just locking the door and rudely told me to go to the Raplhs Kiosk location. Shocked, i walked back to ralphs where i just had come from. Well, the Barista was so friendly at that location i will just continue to go to that location... across the parking lot. I dunno, this Starbucks is a nice one. Simple but nice. The service is always good. At some Starbucks there always seems to be a longer wait, over 3 minuites for a drink. This one the wait is seldom over 2 minuites (off peak). They have a patio area outside so if it's a nice day you can sit out there and although it is on a busy intersection the street noise is minimal maybe because they have the music playing a little higher. read more

I never have a terrible experience here. I would consider myself a weekly regular. The line inside is always moderate, but when it's long the baristas do a good job of pushing people through quickly. I was shocked the first time I walked past the drive through and saw idled cars waiting to order as far back as two blocks down the street. Crazy! I'm not sure why people don't park and walk in to order. It would most certainly be quicker and there is never a lack a of parking available... This is a daily occurrence right around rush hour, so if you need a cup of joe in a hurry, I suggest you park your car and go inside. The coffee is always tasty and fresh. Sometimes I have to ask for milk when the container is empty, but the milk/sugar station is usually clean, stocked, and well maintained. There is plenty of seating available during "off" times but if you want to sit and plug in your device/s you had better get there before the evening rush. I think a lot of students come here to study so plugs are in high demand. WiFi connection can be slow depending upon the number of people connected at any given time. However, it is free! read more
