This Peet's Coffee is located near a busy Whole Foods store in Laguna Niguel. It opens pretty early in the morning which is nice. My orders are ready quickly no matter when I place them using the mobile app. The inside of the store has numerous seating spaces. There are some tables outside one can also congregate with fellow gym goers and Pilates devotee. My problem with this store location is the actual drink quality itself. My drinks are either so overfilled to the point that once I stick the straw in, it turns into a fountain. One of the times that happened, the employees completely ignored me and kept talking about which line they really should be filling in the drinks to. No offers of napkins or anything to help clean up. Other times this happened, I ended up with a lid that busted open while en route to my car because the liquid got under the lid and the cup itself. That was a different kind of unnecessary mess. And it was entirely avoidable if the drink itself wasn't overfilled. The cups actually has a max fill line etched into it believe it or not. So if you fill in more or less past certain lines on the cups of anything, such as ice, milk, etc, the drinks won't taste right and/or it will create a mess. But the worst part? An unhappy customer with a coffee stained white linen pants and shirt. And that was me a few days ago. Anyway, the other half a dozen times I have ordered, the opposite happened as you can see in the picture. The drinks are nowhere near filled to the top fill line and the syrup never mixed all the way. So this causes the first 3-4 sips with intense flavors of the syrup and the rest of the drink as bland unflavored milk. So, as much as I appreciate the speed of order fulfillment and spacious interior seating inside and outside, I prefer to get my drinks elsewhere. And yes, that includes the god forsaken Starbucks down the street that's not any better drinks or service wise. read more

Over the years, Peet's has seemed consistent to me, and consistent in a great way. In my opinion, the baristas here are polite, on top of the orders, and the drinks they make are of high quality. In my experience, the ambiance is tranquil compared to other coffeeshops in the area. Their drinks taste nuanced to me. My recent pick was an iced black tea lemonade and did not have an overly pronounced sugary flavor. I like drinking a beverage which doesn't make me feel like pumps of sugar have been added to it. I think Peet's does tea and coffee very well. A friend of mine who is a connoisseur of all things good was with me. She ordered and enjoyed her holiday spice latte. Nice to have a Peets near Mission Viejo.. or at least a short drive from here. Located right near the Whole Foods off La Paz and Aliso Creek there is plenty of parking and nice little seating area. Coffee is good to great and you can get mugs, travel mugs or coffee beans to go. See is good and prices are right where every other coffee shops price are at. Who does not Love PEET's!? You rather go to Starcrooks? Really?? This Peet's is new, huge, lots of seating, free parking, and friendly staff. The woman in front of me chatted with the Barista for 5 minutes and so did I. Try that in Starcrooks... and they will call security. They don't mind taste testing the coffee and brewing a fresh batch here. I only get black coffee medium size (3.50) either medium or dark roast depending on the Barista recommendation and my taste test. If I lived near here I would be a regular at this Peet's. Don't forget to use the Peet's App and scan to get points whether you pay with a credit card or the App. You will get free coffee around your birthday too. This review is for a mobile order of a small latte picked up today at 8 am. I requested a latte with whole milk, regular foam, extra hot. Thoughts: 1. Taste: I took a few sips to try to convince myself that despite the lack of foam and heat, the taste would be great. But, no, the taste left me wondering why I spent $5.10 on this mediocre drink. 2. Foam: Does the thin layer stuck to the bottom of the lid count? See attached image. 3. Temperature: Warm, not extra hot so I wasted a cup sleeve. Been going here several times a week for years now. Love the coffee and the atmosphere. They used to have really great service under the last manager who worked here for years. Sadly she was relocated and the new team are extremely impatient and very rude. I asked for a knife for my bagel, they told me to go to wholefoods next door. Was waiting for my Peets account to load added funds, the cashier just scanned it "so I get the points" and told me to use apple pay. Ok but now I've paid double for a large order? This Peet's location is such a pleasure to visit, and I always go out of my way to visit it during my commute. The drinks are always expertly crafted, the baristas are personable, and have an attention to detail, and the tables are always kept clean. I had the pleasure of studying at this location for a few hours, and the music was kept at a good level to maintain focus. It's no wonder this Peet's is such a popular work and study spot for locals; I'd definitely come here in a flash whenever my local library is closed! Drink quality: Consistent and of good quality. Less options than its competitors, but Peet's makes up for quantity in its quality. The Oat Cold Brew series is a particular favorite of mine. Bathrooms: Two single stall bathrooms. Extremely clean even in such a busy location! Sadly, the plumber's glue on the toilet had come loose (as of Sept. 2024), resulting in the toilet rocking in place. Parking: The parking lot is next to a Whole Foods, so it can get crowded and cramped during peak hours. However, I almost always find parking directly next to this Peet's. Accessibility: The entrance is near a curb ramp, making it a bit easier for a wheelchair to get up to the door, but both entrances are single door, so depending on your mobility aid, it may be harder to get in. The bathrooms are single stall, but the paper towel dispenser is not automatic, and the paper towels require some force to get out. If you have a harder time gripping things, this can be quite a struggle. read more

I enjoy the vibe of this place. I enjoy the center it's located in. That's about it. However, the drinks are very overpriced for the mediocre quality you get. Service was great but the drinks were seriously lacking. The iced chai was so sickly sweet (and so heavy on the ice too) that we couldn't drink more than a few sips (currently living in my fridge), and the chai literally comes out of a box so you might as well just buy some boxed chai drink mix at Target and mix it with your own milk at home...save the $5-$6 it costs here... The matcha is decent here. Coffee is also decent. I don't know why but everything I order here seems to taste like dirty water more than anything. With so many amazing drink options in the area these days, Peet's needs to step it up. read more

This was our 1st visit to this Peet's coffee and we were OVERLY IMPRESSED with the staff and their care for the facility. It wasn't very busy but every second they had in "down time" they were cleaning, sweeping, wiping tables down, and even cleaning the restrooms. Yes, cleaning the RR. Sweeping under areas that in other places would never be "serviced" by employees. We visit numerous food establishments over many many years, and we have never, ever observed staff and employees clean and clean and clean when they had an opportunity. It was a spotless establishment and we were thoroughly impressed. We were there mid-late afternoon February 20 and each of these employees need to be commended well and beyond normal. It was beyond responsible of them to use the opportunity of the "slowness" of foot traffic to do what they did. Kudos to all of you and thank you. My first time here today because I needed a pick me up before my nail appointment next door. I ordered a medium iced espresso latte with oatmilk. Service was quick and the staff who helped me was extremely friendly and even chatted with me about their app and points program. Ambiance was chill - chiller than Starbucks. OH, NOOOoooo! What has become of our favorite coffee spot just over the several weeks? I order the same drink each time, and twice within the past week and a half, the Americano decaf on ice has the "too familiar" bitter, "fast, slammed out drink" flavor that Starbuck's served of the same type of drink. My husband's coffee (house coffee) has been good, but my beloved Peet's decaf Americano tastes like it was churned out too fast (like Starbucks)...thus, making for a bitter taste :( If this keeps up, we will have to make a point of finding another coffee spot. (Btw, looks like this location, although the employees are very nice, has difficulty retaining early mrn'g employees...we've seen a change of faces over the last number of weeks.) Three to 3 1/2 yrs ago, it was the SAME great crew week after week. This is when we first started coming to this location. Drinks were ALWAYS consistent and heavenly. Laguna Nigel, CA This was my first visit to Peet's Coffee in over a year due to restrictions, etc. We still brew Peet's coffee, but we've been buying it bulk in whole bean from Costco rather than making in store bean purchases as usual. For me personally, I would rather limit my visits than shop and wear a mask, but it was time for me to bite the bullet and just tough it up and visit one of my favorite coffee shops. It was an afternoon visit and while in the area I looked for the closest Peet's Coffee and Tea as I was in the mood for a hot cup of Chai Tea Latte. Service was quick, and that Unsweetened Large Chai Tea Latte with one Chai tea bag (Mighty Leaf) one pump of Vanilla Syrup and half steamed whole milk and half hot water had me enjoying every single perfect drop of tea until my cup was sadly empty. Peet's offers two Chai tea options, their Sweetened Chai Tea Latte Option made with a Chai syrup versus a tea bag is too sweet and spiced for my taste. My visit here reminded me of how much I have missed some of our first world pleasures...a made to order perfectly brewed cup of hot tea at the perfect temperature sipping from a plastic lid and sturdy doubled paper cup with cardboard sleeve. I saved my extra unused tea bag, my second empty unused cup that was used on the bottom, and I washed the lid so I can make my next hot tea at home when I make a tea "to go". Service here was pleasant and efficient, I waited outside for a few minutes at their outdoor tables versus standing in their inside waiting area, and went back in after a few minutes and my drink was ready. read more

I am happy to see that Pete's is at least allowing tips on Credit Card, but it is sad they have gone cashless. This is still America and people like to use cash. Cashier was amazing and she was helpful with her recommendation on the flatbread. I threw away the Cold Brew Maple Oat latte. It simply wasn't good. I would have gone back in and requested for a new drink but I was simply turned off because what appeared to be the manager told me i had to move where I was standing and stand on a dot. Now mind you, I was over 6' away from any barista they have a barricade built protecting employees and I still had to listen to her BS. Peet's Coffee is one of the classics. It has been around since my high school days and now it seems like they are dwindling in numbers. I still love this place as there's a different touch to it. It's a normal coffee shop with all the basic needs from tea to coffee and espresso drinks. They also have a little bakery section with some baked goods like muffins, different bread, cookie and more. The service here is very good as everyone is very nice. The set up inside is very modern looking with a community table. Along with free WiFi and great air conditioning what more do you need? I got their mocha here as it's one of my favorite drink. I certainly enjoyed it as it reminded me of the first few mochas I had ordered back in the late 90s. read more

My little one whose been slurping coffee since she was 3 months old is happy about that. They sell a lot of merchandise from mugs, to pour over ceramic cones (a must have in every kitchen), tumblers, ect. They also sell Peets KCUPS, which is my preferred brand for my Keurig. Service here is fast and friendly. The counter boy made suggestions and then took my order. The barista served up my iced maple latte, which was sweet and smooth and creamy. The hubsters had a white chocolate mocha with whip cream. The Barista misunderstood me and made the mocha hot, but then gladly made me an iced one with a smile on her face. I normally love Peet's but this location's service and attitude of one particular staff member was terrible. I called the store today at 1:50pm to ask if I could order two travelers. A gentleman answered and was audibly uncomfortable with the request and held in silence. He then mentioned it would be more than 20 minutes. I asked if it could be done sooner - simply a question. He said no, which is fine. I say I will call back after confirming with my group. I call back within ten minutes and a lady answers. I ask if I can order a traveler and she sighs. I proceed to say I would like two travelers please. She replies "oh my god". Are you serious? As if no one orders a traveler the day of?! Who the heck even says that to a customer? Positives: everyone is always very kind and my drink is always made well. Negatives: i've ordered every day on the mobile app for the last five days and it hasn't EVER been ready, or even started, when I arrived. For example, I mobile ordered at 7:45a this morning for it to be ready by 8:30 so I wouldn't have this issue and i'm standing here at 8:35 and it hasn't even been made. There's a reason people pre-order with plenty of time before, so this is a little frustrating. I let them know I was here, they rushed to make my drink, and then made it incorrectly. I have to get to work so I don't have time to ask them to remake it and it's not the end of the world. It's been habit to stop by for years. Yesterday, was a rare venturing out during the pandemic. Service was excellent as always. Everything was going super smooth until a customer refused to wear a mask and refused to leave the establishment. The manager, Nahal, is a superhero. The role model she always is, was turned up, as she delicately, firmly and consistently insisted on keeping the employees and customers safe while coaxing this obnoxious customer right out the door. A HUGE high-five to Nahal for going above and beyond and making us all love her even more. It can't be easy and it's probably under appreciated --- so show Nahal some love each time you stop by. As shocked as I was to see a community member go off the rails, I was honored to live here and have people like Nahal setting the standard, but also doing it with grace. So today, I thought I'd ride out here again but saw they were closing in 45 minutes. I thought against it b/c if they were closed yesterday (and the maps app said they'd be open) who knows, I might ride out there and they'd be closed again. Once bit, twice shy.
