What really makes this drink work is there flavored coffee powders which work and taste so much better than syrups used in other such drinks. That said this particular location is very convenient. I stopped by this location because it has a drive-thru and ordered a large iced vanilla protein latte, listed at $7.45. The employee rang it up incorrectly by charging the protein as a separate add-on instead of selecting the protein latte itself, so I ended up paying $8.20 for the drink, not including the extra shot. I didn't notice until after I left. The drink had a strange aftertaste (maybe the vanilla or the protein) and was very subpar for the price. I also ordered a turkey pesto sandwich, I know these are reheated, but I still expected it to taste better. The meat didn't taste good and the sandwich was very mediocre overall. Compared to chains like Starbucks or Philz, this didn't come close. I don't plan on returning. read more

Service was terrible, had a few questions for the young lady working on 2/2/26 around 3:30pm She seemed bothered, straight smacked her lips and rolled her eyes. Grow up, this is your job. I love everything about coffee bean & tea leaf! What do I love? What do I super recommend? The Tropical Passion Tea Latte! Extra Hot! That is absolutely my favorite. Everytime I order it, it always hits the spot, and is fruity, not coffee (sometimes I'm just in the mood for a hot beverage - not coffee), and it's the best. They just revamped their rewards program, so I also recommend that you download the app and start collecting rewards and get credit for your purchases! This location is cool because they have a drive-thru AND ample inside seating, along with some tables/seating outside too! It is not tremendously large inside, but enough to have some comfy chairs, plug in, get some work done, or also just meet with someone for coffee. The baristas were friendly, quick with getting our orders out, and my drinks were perfect. They ran out of one of the pastries I wanted but there were plenty others to choose from, so it wasn't an issue. Parking is also not an issue. As it is in a shopping center and plenty is available. Just be sure not to park near the drive through, juuuuuuust in case it gets backed up and if you get locked in! Will definitely be back to this location! Glad to have one in the area! read more

I pretty much buy Coffee Bean a minimum of three times a week and this is the worst Coffee Bean. I've been to in my entire 50 years of life. The guy that took my order completely got it wrong and it was just tea. I had to literally pull over get out of my car go in there and show him what I wanted and he still look confused and then the barista making the drinks named Thomas had the worst attitude or maybe it's just his bad personality one or the other he made me uncomfortable and I just felt very uncomfortable because they made all these mistakes and couldn't fix them like he literally made it three different times wrong. I'm not sure if they got trained or this is just how the store runs, but I won't be back here. That's for sure. read more

To be clear, I personally like the interior of this Coffee Bean, as it has lots of comfy chairs and is always air conditioned. But - and I think this is an industry wide thing with coffee chains these days - the service is on the slow side. Also, because of how swamped with mobile orders they are, the servers are generally unattentive. I pretty much know everyone and they know me. Super friendly and they all memorize my drink. I was bummed when they didn't offer the sugar free dark chocolate. These girls do not know how to do their job, they look at me just dont say anything. I was a barista for three years, I know it gets busy but forgetting a drink so I have to go inside and you ignore me is just unnecessary. They are always so slow and run out of everything. Absolutely terrible service. Literally minutes ago I went there, order 2 ice blended drinks totaling $12 and change. Loaded $10 on the app and had 495 points. I redeemed 425 points for a Free drink (earned points) and I asked the drive through attendant to scan the app. He did and I told him. I'm gonna use my free drink and the rest my account balance. Couple minutes later he opens the window and says that'll be $2 more. I'm like what about my free drink points? We forgot to redeem it and instead cashed out the whole $10. Got his manager and they half-way reserved it. Used my Free Drink reward and didn't give me back my remaining money. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager Eva? Came over to the window and she brushed me off and said it will reload in the app later. Well my points have reloaded. While trying to talk to her she wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. I asked her, can you take a note down so if my money doesn't come back to the account you remember? And verbatim she said "I'm sorry it happened, do you need napkins? It will reflect your account soon. Thank you bye" and closed the window and walked away. Wish I had read the negative reviews before going to The Coffee Bean. My friends and I were meeting in this shopping center because one friend was getting her hair done at Optima. We were just getting coffee so how bad could it be? The answer is "very bad". My 2 friends were ordering first. They wanted decaf coffee. The only decaf coffee the coffee bean has is espresso. That's right, they don't have any other decaffeinated coffees. I asked the girl taking our orders about the 2 different calorie counts listed on the lattes. I was pretty sure that one was for hot and one was for iced lattes. No, she explained, their drinks are made with powder and sometimes people want less powder because they want it less sweet. I know her answer was wrong but I didn't argue. One friend ordered a coffee and a chocolate chip cookie. My regular size iced latte was $5.98. I had to take a pill and asked for a cup of water. I was told it was $.25. My server explained it was for inventory purposes for the cup! I decided to take my pill with my coffee. I said I didn't want a lot of ice in my coffee. She replied, Ok you want easy ice. We paid for our drinks and she started to make them. My friends's coffee was done first. Mine was done next. I now understood about "the powder". She put powder and ice in a plastic carafe to make my drink! And, though she made our drinks immediately after we ordered, mine was not "easy ice". I called my server over, she said she would have to remake it. She emptied my cup out and then left me standing there while she went to take orders from some people who had just walked in. My friend asked for her cookie. She was told she had to wait. There were 2 other girls working. One was working the drive thru window, the other was putting green powder into a plastic carafe which I knew wasn't my order. My friend and I were left standing there. My friend again asked for her cookie. The girl servicing the drive thru finally took a cookie from the freezer and put it in the microwave. When the cookie was ready she took it and sat down. I asked if I could get my latte. The girl putting the green powder in a carafe turned and responded to me rudely that she was "in charge of drinks" and that she would be making my drink. If I wasn't with my friends I would have asked for my money back at that point. We went to The Coffee Bean because of the location. My friend reminded me that Chaupain is just down the road. Next time we will go there to get delicious coffees not made from powder and served to us by people who understand what customer service is all about. read more

The BEST thing about Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is that they're open EARLY! I can go to most locations when they open up at 5am. Like most coffee houses, they have a selection of brews, lattes, and seasonal drinks. Many of their specialty coffees are made with powders rather than syrups, and it gives the coffee a unique flavor and texture. One of my favorite drinks here is the Cookie Butter Latte - which used to be a seasonal item until more people besides me started ordering it. The Laguna Woods location is staffed by GREAT people. They have a drive-thru, and if you go inside the (very clean!) store, they'll treat you well, they'll get your drink made up fast, and it'll be right the first time! read more
