Today, as with nearly every day, I mobile ordered my drinks and walked over to my neighborhood Starbucks. My primary one on Birch St. was out of the Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade again. So I changed my order to the one on Imperial and Brea, its another 200 meter walk. When I arrived I noticed my drink was an inch and a half shy of being full. I asked the Barista (Tyler) how come it was shy of being full. He gave me an excuse it was a new policy that Starbucks had started when you order your drink without ice. I order this drink every day for the last 4 months and NEVER EVER has it been shy. I came home and looked for any such policy or any mention of it on any blog. NOTHING. Tyler your full of crap, and was probably the worst customer service I've had at the store. Why not charge me an extra .30 cents for the inch and a half of mixture or at least fill it up with water and consider it a weak drink. It's not like the consistency of that drink is ever the same anyway. read more

I always thought this was a good Starbucks until last Thursday I was getting my first cup of coffee and it was the only thing I had yet that day and I got food poisoning I don't know if the cream was bad or they don't clean the machines or what but I went from fine to sweating stomach cramps diarrhea etc in a period of 30 min I was sick for 2 days because of this place. I really like this Starbucks. Everyone is super friendly and it's very clean with a lot of space. Sometimes there's a long line but it depends on what time of day you go. There's a large sitting area and a lot of places to eat. It's a great location to meet with someone for lunch and coffee. read more

The staff here is really great. Me and some co-workers were setting up shop for a little bit on a table inside and the manager could not have been nicer. After ordering some drinks I was curious to try out a different flavor and sweetness level of one of the drinks I ordered. She gave me a whole drink, a small (or 'tall', in Starbucks language) and kept adjusting the sweetness until I was happy. She then let me keep the taste, which was actually a small ('tall') drink. It was around 8 pm when the line was starting to form and she started making gagging sounds at the cash register because she was so 'disgusted by coffee idiots' I don't even know what that means. I am a HUGE starbucks fan. This starbucks, thought, is not my favorite. The workers are really not friendly; they act like you are realy bothering them by placing an order. The drinks take a long time too. Most time, they set your drink on the bar and walk away, so you get your drink and try to say thank you but they have already disappeared. I'm at Starbucks almost everyday of the week. I drink black coffee and it's the one coffee that's strong enough to satisfy my caffeine cravings. I recently visited this location at night and met Elliot...at least I think his name was Elliot....you know the type of Starbucks employee I'm talking about. The one that makes you feel that he's doing you a favor by taking your order, who looks down upon you, doesn't give any eye contact and always seems to be in a conversation with fellow employees as you interrupt him. I ordered black coffee, took a sip and realized it had been sitting for awhile. I asked him if the coffee was old and he said its fresh, gave me a disapproving smirk and walked away. Luckily for me another employee overheard me and said if I wouldn't mind waiting a minute he had a fresh brew coming out. I said sure, waited patiently for a few minutes and once again had to communicate with Elliot who seem more interested in restocking the pastry display case then pouring me a new cup of coffee. In fact he went ahead an did a few extra tasks before he decided to pour my coffee. In conclusion, Coffee is excellent but service was terrible. read more

I am rather upset for more than one reasons. Let's make it clear that this location is important as it lies on the corner of Brea and Imperial. From a location with high volume like this I would expect a management team that works diligently enough to staff accordingly. On a Saturday morning I come in to 3 employees, 1 on the register with a line of 16 people and 2 knocking out drinks as quickly as possible. Luckily the amount of people waiting for drinks, standing around, went down to only 14 people. Including myself, and I must add that the customers waking by the door is a fire hazard. I have restaurant experience so, when I see that there are 3 employees running one hell of a busy establishment I have to look at who is running it. What is management thinking. Note that the employees are working as hard as possible without going insane, I do not appreciate the way this Starbucks is being ran. It is not up to Starbucks standard, if there is one.... Perhaps I expect too much, but let the numbers speak for themselves. I have Ben waiting 30 minutes now. There are elders standing up with nowhere to sit. Children running around in a cramped Starbucks because there are only 3 employees. Are you short staffed, should I recommend some friends to apply right away and help this establishment be a more accordingly staffed work place? read more

This place is always packed and it is difficult to find a place to sit at any given time of the day. Mostly students go there and take up the space for long periods of time. I can't remember the last time I was here that the staff actually acknowledged their customers. Between talking amongst themselves or just avoiding eye contact altogether, I think their employees would rather you just leave. This is my go to Starbucks location. The baristas are wonderful and they try to get to know you. The atmosphere is great for studying and reading. Every now and then someone might mess up on my drink, but they are always understanding and quick to fix the problem. read more

I went in this morning because I received an email from Starbucks offering bonus stars for breakfast sandwiches. After looking around for a menu, I asked the employee what they have for breakfast sandwiches (There are 3 in the case). He explained a few to me. So I asked about one I had ordered before, he said no. As I was eating, I looked it up on my phone. Starbucks now has 8 breakfast sandwichs, 3 of which I would have ordered in preference to the one I ate. The quality of the coffee gave the usual typical " no thrills" experience. The service was horrible. I prefer to go in the morning to a coffee shop that has friendly and energetic staff. Music is good. Great spot to get some work done with minimal distractions. They recently did a remodel and I do like the lay-out much better. It feels more open and the staff was more helpful than usual as well. They have a new ice cream coffee that was great and I ordered the new egg bites and the barista added extra hot sauce in case I wanted that. I appreciated the thoughtfulness. The wait was a little long for my drink but one of the baristas stepped in to help move the line which was helpful before any of us in line got too impatient. Although Imperial makes for a noisy outdoor area, the fountain outside is a great add-on. read more
