Store was pretty busy inside and out but we were able to snag a table outside. This location had a digital board for mobile orders so you can see where your order is in the process. After walking the entire city, I stopped by here for a quick water break. Most Starbucks' that I've been to always offer free water. I waited in line very patiently, and was very thirsty, and they refused me free water. I'm pretty shocked... it is water at the end of the day. Had to pay and waste food just to get some water. A lot has changed since my last review ~10 years ago. I do still come to this Starbucks a lot in the summer and fall. The service is friendly but on the slower side. The cost for everything is crazy now so I don't go as much as I used to. The food has become noticeably worse over time. The bathrooms need to be redone for sure. On the positive side, plenty of seating. I'll be back but only once in a while now. read more

The staff is friendly and do their job well. I do have an issue with the cleanliness of the toilet room. I find that the soap dispenser is always empty. There is also consistently and dirty smeing odor. I think all they need is to clean with a good disinfectant product and a new clean mop daily. read more

AMAZING staff. Amazing coffee but that is a given. I had such a horrible experience at the starbucks that is run by Barnes & Nobles, and was given a pumpkin cream latte that cannot even be called one. So I was obviously very frustrated when I had to throw that away and come buy a new one at this location. I let them know about my experience, and they were so understanding and accommodating and made sure that they made the BEST pumpkin cream cold brew for me and just the energy and vibe they give was so refreshing and warming. I'd come here before to snag a latte before or after shopping (confessions of a caffeinated shopholic...), but never to experience all that this Starbucks location has to offer. I appreciated the size and the abundance of tables and chairs to kick back and relax in. I was waiting for my husband, and so I got a latte, grabbed a spot, charged my phone, opened a book and chilled out for a spell. This by far is one of my favorite Starbucks. They've switched the tables and chair around quite a bit to find the best possible way to reduce the long lines and people waiting to get a seat perhaps. Mostly the staff here are cool. They seem genuinely nice and almost always with a smile. I usually come here later on the day because this place is open until 10:30pm daily which totally rocks when you don't like cars and clubs but just want to sit and have a little chat with friends. The only recommendation is perhaps the bathroom needs to be cleaned up a little more frequently. Today, I'm a little ticked with the cashier Marcus. I ordered a Chinatown green tea like I usually do. Normally the cashier hair put the yea bag in full it with water and hang it over to you like every other Starbucks I've ever been and there has been quite a few. Instead he range up and told me to go wait at the end. Also I asked for a cup of ice. I walk to the end where the baristas were where he placed the cup of the on the counter to retrieve my drink. No ice. He is now already back at the cashier. I asked him about the ice. He said once again I need to be at the other end and when the barista gets to it, I'll get it there. It's a cup of ice!! Why would anyone in their right mind would have the barista just put some ice in the cup when here already busy as is and there was only 1 barista but 2 cashiers?!?! And on top of that why would you want your customers to wait for a cup of ice when it takes two seconds to put the ice in the cup and handover to them with their tea. Unbelievable. But I guess it is because it just happened. I'd give this mace a 4 star if it wasn't for this and the cleanliness of the bathroom. One positive thing they.. I do see improvements here and generally other stuff members are pretty cool and fun to see later in the evening. read more

Wow what an experience I had this morning here. ya Ordered via app my order at 5:41am as the store opens at 5:30. App indicates they were open and it would take them 4-8 minutes for my order. I arrived tat this store in 6 minutes, the store was closed. I knocked on the door as I saw 2 associates and the female that was working was trying to shoo me away. I called and called no one was answering. It's one this for them no be running late but to have your registers on to allow people to still order ahead is another. I then decided it wasn't ok to yet again to treat your customers with disrespect so I pounded on the window until someone came to the door. All this time wasted an additional 6-7 minutes before I was assisted and they refund my order to my card. The baristas this morning could have easily handled the situation differently, even if you were 20+ minutes late opening the store. read more

If you are in a rush though I suggest doing mobile ordering, because every time I've done mobile ordering to this location it is ready even sooner than the estimated time! The staff here is great, super friendly and always a happy face. There are plenty of tables to do work and it is always clean! There are 6 Starbucks within a 2 block radius of my apartment. This is my favorite. Despite the fact that it's so chain-y--or perhaps in part because it's so chain-y--I like Starbucks in general for these reasons: 1. They don't mix up their dairy-milk and soymilk equipment, which is more than can be said about most other cafes, and which bodes well for those of us with sensitivities to one or the other. (I don't have to make them feel compelled to fetch a fresh flask from the dishwasher and then heat up my drink in the microwave.) They also prepare drinks such that I don't even have to mention I need mine gluten-free, which makes ordering less a pain-in-the-ass than it is at many other cafes where I have to go through the whole list of g-free procedures (e.g., don't shake it, don't stir it, just make it straight in the cup). My drink of choice is a soy latte, iced or hot depending on my hormonal state. Stabucks soymilk is gluten-free (which we g-free people can never assume to be the case, by the way, so with new cafes always check, and be at least a little paranoid on re-visits because places can change brands). I always rejoice when I see cafes using Starbucks brand soymilk just because I already know it's g-free from back in the day when I called up the Powers that Be to ask. Places that use the EdenSoy that contains wheat, on the other hand, really annoy me. Grrr! 2. As of recently, as in the past week or so, their Boston/Cambridge locations (can't speak for elsewhere) are now carrying Lucy's brand cookie packages, which are gluten- as well as dairy-free. They come in three different varieties that I've seen so far, and are also pretty tasty. I've tried the cinnamon ones. Twice. So: they don't have a huge display case of gluten-free espresso brownies, gingerbread cookies, sparkly donuts, pumpkin muffins, etc, but at least they do have pre-packaged fruit & nut bars (gluten- and dairy- free) and now the Lucy's cookies (nut-free too!). That's a start! 3. Consistency. I like this location in particular because of the vast array of seating options, even if during prime time hours (like, always) it takes forever and a day to find a table. read more

Ummm! Why the low rating! The staff here is superb, especially here in Boston. I mean you'll get your fair share of grumpy staff throughout Boston but I found a gem! This is used to be my favorite area Starbucks back in the day when one of the baristas had the same first name as me; I'm anything if not loyal. It's still a decent space for lounging and studying, but everyone seems to think that, and the heavy trafficking leaves it downright grimy. On weekends, the crowds of people that stuff themselves into this location make my little introverted brain explode and run for cover on Stuart St. 7am to 9am weekdays, this is still the best local 'bucks for lounging. It's just been cleaned, and while hordes of people shuffle through, few actually linger. The staff here is very patient. Recommended for Starbucks beginners. read more

Ok this location officially SUCKS! I wanted a Starbucks white hot chocolate. I left the Lenox and walked across the street. The counter help was fine, there was a line but it moves quick. I got my white hot chocolate with whipped cream so I then headed across the street for a lindt white chocolate ball to drop it into the white hot chocolate. Makes sense, right? This Starbucks location delivered some mocha bullshit coffee crap! I didn't realize till after I went to the lindt chocolate shop and already dropped the white ball of flavor in! Plop. I tasted it and almost sprayed it across the room. The best part, actually the ONLY good part was the end with the melted white chocolate ball. Much better If you can go to another location. Large Starbucks, with more tables than most in this part of downtown. Came mid-morning on a weekday with no lines and plenty of tables to choose from. Quick service for my drink and stayed for around 3 hour to work. Overall quiet, loudest noises is the music, but managed to make a work call. The most spacious of the Starbucks branches with Clover I've seen thus far and a nice spot to get some reading/studying/relaxing done. My Rwanda Gakenke came out great, the staff was friendly and efficient and I got some work done on one of the comfy chairs. Can't complain! read more

I miss you guys. When I was working on Newbury Street last year, this was my second office!! I went at least twice a day. And before I got to the counter, my drinks were already made (with smiley faces on my cup). It's never completely crowded in here, the line however can be long sometimes. I didn't mind it though. And, best part... when I couldn't go because I was with a client and someone else from the office would go, they would always come back and say something like "The people at Starbucks say 'hi'" or "they asked if I worked with you". The main issue at this location is that the lines can get to be pretty long. Once you are served though they handle the orders pretty quickly. I usually just get a oatmeal. Some places it terrible, but these guys were spot on. Would not have a problem coming back here, just hope it is not too busy. read more
