I was excited when I saw George Howell now has his own coffee shops. I used to frequent Coffee Connection back in the day and loved their stuff so I couldn't wait to see the latest iteration. This location is easy to get to from the airport which is great and I was able to visit on my last two trips. They make drinks and sell beans so both times I got a drink for now and beans to bring back home. Service is friendly and pretty quick even when there are people waiting I loved both my drinks - this last visit I got an iced latte because it was so hot out. This is supposedly a well-known local coffee branch in Boston, located at a stall in Public Market. Since I was already there, I decided to give it a try. Iced Latte: The default Alchemy blend beans and whole milk tasted quite ordinary and didn't leave much of an impression. However, the portion was 16 ounces, which is larger than most coffee shops. The counter has various types of milk available that you can add if necessary. This is the first time I've seen this in a Boston coffee shop; very thoughtful! read more

Loved this coffee. My husband got peppermint mocha and I got egg nog lattes. I got the last one for the morning on the day we left. Very nice staff and very good coffee. Even did cute little designs as well. Quick and sincere the sugar and milk were already in the drinks it actually ended up being a really good balance for us. I went here for the free matcha sample and had a great experience! These pop ups are advertised on eventbrite but it turns out you don't actually need a ticket, so just show up! This is my favorite matcha in Boston! If you love matcha, do yourself a favor and grab a cup while you're here. First off, I love this location! It's at the center of downtown Boston nestled in the cost Boston Public Market surrounded by other great food and product vendors. The service is typically quick and accommodating, plus they have a cute seating area in the corner for those who like to sit and sip when it's not too busy. As for the matcha itself, oh my god! It's smooth, it's creamy, it has a vibrant green color, a perfect milk to matcha ratio, and a powerful ceremonial grade matcha flavor. It is definitely on the more earthy side (which is exactly why I love it so much), but if you prefer it sweeter you can always make customizations. All in all, I've yet to find a more perfectly balanced and flavorful matcha latte in Boston so I definitely recommend stopping by one of their locations to try it! read more

We had great experience with this coffee shop located in the Boston Public market. We were craving a second pick me up for the day and ordered their pumpkin spice latte and a flat white. Their pumpkin spice latte is exceptional. They make it using real pumpkin products and you can definitely taste the difference. Way less sweetness than most other versions out there. Place to really learn to love espresso. Recommend ordering the current house espresso with a sparkling water back. It will come on a neat little wooden tray, with the espresso and a separate sparkling water to clear the palate before and after the espresso. Then come back and try the same but with the current "single estate" espresso, and compare for different flavor notes. The employees are nice and the matcha lattes I ordered were decent. My only gripe is that the employee who assembles the drinks does it kind of messy (my drink would have milk spilled on the cup and it wasn't closed correctly and when I tried to close it, some splashes of milk dropped from milk being stuck on the lid). And also she does not wear gloves when assembling the drinks but touches the inside of the cups with her bare fingers to grab them. It would be better if she didn't touch the inside of the plastic cups with her bare fingers and instead grabbed the outside of the cups only if she wasn't wearing gloves. I've known about George Howell for awhile since a coffee shop I used to frequent during my days in Ann Arbor use their beans for pour overs. I was excited to try a pour over here! POUR OVER: KARATU 2014 (KENYA) - 8 This is a bit steep for a pour over but since I'm on vacation, why not? They make the pour over with a Chemex using an automatic machine. Overall, the fruity notes were prominent. While it's a bit acidic and juicy, it was also really sweet! I found the pour over to be slightly more watery than how I normally make it, but it was still enjoyable. I was eyeing their beans but decided to not buy any this time. It seems like they have a nice selection of expensive single origins along with blends that are more affordable. I lowkey regret not buying a bag, haha. read more

After paying around $9 (with tip) for a latte that was pretty, but not very good, I may have to give this place a break. Tried the honey blossom latte with the crescent ridge local milk. I am not sure what threw it off- if the espresso was a little too acid-y, if the milk was a little off, or if it just wasn't a good flavor combo, but it was hard to finish.
