First time here! I feel like I am cheating on the daily SB location I go to because I am getting coffee elsewhere. This is a newer location for me located right by Costco, so this is probably a busy spot. However, their staff are on it! I placed my order on my way here but my order was ready at the pick up counter by the time I got here - I was literally just 3 minutes away! The drive thru was packed when I was entering the door but it cleared upon walking out - simply amazing! They greeted every customer that walked through the door and thanked those who came to pick up. I was thinking ... this was exactly how it used to be when I first visited a SB store almost 30 years ago! Definitely a really wonderful SB - probably one of the best I've been to for a while. I have an appointment in the area, so I decided to submit an online order before the other business I go to opens. I just realized, I've been here for over four hours taking care of Yelp reviews and responding to messages. There's nothing to complain about when it comes to the drinks since Starbucks is consistent in that respect. I will say that there are a lot of patrons who have met in the time that I've been here which is a good sign, but I will say what separates this experience from all the others is that while it was slow, one of the baristas walked around and asked if any of us wanted water. He went around cleaning the tables and fixing the chairs frequently, but that small act of kindness was awesome. I had finished my coffee about an hour ago, so I was about to order one more drink for the road before I head to the other business. No need to now! They call your drink out when mobile orders are ready, and like my home store in Claremont, they thank you for your business. Montclair Place lacks in the regard. Service is always fast and have always been right! The staff are also helpful with suggestions and willing to make customized drinks if you don't like the Starbucks "standard" menu. I work across the street and, even when we've ordered 10+ drinks for the office, we've been in and out in 15 minutes. The store manager is also very personable and friendly. This is a slower Starbucks store and seems like it would be a nice place to study for a few hours. read more

We were heading back to the Bay Area and stopped at this super convenient location being next door to the Costco gas station. I went to this Starbucks because the drive through service has always been great and I needed a place that would allow me to use the WiFi for a meeting I had to attend (my internet was out). Initially, it was like every other Starbucks. Great service and products. It wasn't until the "coffee master", Stephanie, came on to the floor and my whole opinion of the in store experience went out the window. I went and purchased a few items, lunch, and a couple of drinks throughout my stay. Every time I went up, Stephanie was rude to the guests in front of me, myself, and after me. I got the feeling she was rushing everyone in line. You can see her making remarks under her breath. Hopefully, it just wasn't her day to be at the register. Because I was there for an extended length of time, I kept seeing her giving me a "stink eye" and every time I went up to purchase snacks or anything there was no customer service and it was "is that it?" My Venti hot coffee was in a single cup (I found an old cup doubled it) It was so full and hot when it handed over to me and when I tried to take it from my cupholder, it spilled allover between my thighs so hot I almost hit the curb. the cup was not covered properly:( and it's not strong enough to hold a hot drink, terrible terrible training. Really nice Starbucks. The staff is always very courteous and kind here. Most importantly: they always make my drinks up to standard. You can always taste the quality and consistency of their drink making. They always do cute things to celebrate the holidays. For example, on new years they provided post it's and pens so you could write your New Year's resolution and stick it to their counter. They're also very efficient and just overall super nice. I am giving them 4 Stars because I really liked the location here. I sat outside 2x in one day, morning and afternoon. Great patio. The police really like it here too. I saw multiple LA County Sheriff's hanging out here as well as City of Azusa police. It's adjacent to Costco. Parking is free and easy. Bathrooms clean for a Starbucks. Staff was pleasant and Fast inside. I took off 1 star from what would normally be 5 stars because my usual pikes black was weak, may have had too much water, just not the same potency it normally has in other Starbucks. Starbucks, I Hate You! From the moment I wake up in the morning and start having what I call "The Craving"! Why are you the first thought I must have? First, I try to think rational and maybe it will be alright if I grab a cheaper coffee some where else, or I try another coffee shop in hopes to find something new and better, But they never suffice and I am left hanging somewhere in between running from an angry swarm of Bees OR being stood up by the cleaning lady on New Year's Eve because I procrastinated to 11:30pm to look for a date! Your Too Expensive! $8.00+ for a large coffee I drink in 5 minutes or less because I cannot put it down or control myself at all anymore - it's insane ! What do you guys put inside those "Eco friendly 10% post consumer recycled fiber cups anyway?!" I know I'm not alone in all this because too many other people use the terms "Bomb" OR "Bad Ass" to describe their Starbucks experiences. Fitting responses IMO since I always feel like a squirrel that just finished storing all his nuts for the winter after absorbing another one of their star super charged coffee's. * But to make this review fair I will confess must the details of my coffee habit briefly. As with any addiction, It started out slow and I indulged only a couple times a week. A grande or two and that was it, I was in control. (But, how fast the times can change.) Now I'm a veteran adding at least 2 up to 5 extra shots of expresso in my usual VENTI sized, super strong, eye popping, morning ritual! Im afraid my relationship has got out of hand and deserves peer reviews ASAP. That said, whatever Starbucks have been doing, they're doing it exquisitely percise everywhere. A very convenient and friendly location. There was a pretty long line for drive-thru but if you don't mind getting out of the car like I did, you'll find that ordering and picking up in person is also just as efficient and quick. Shout out to the very friendly staff too. I picked up a nice hot sandwich and nitro cold brew, made just right. Was in and out of there in around 10mins or so, which didn't seem bad for ordering in person! read more

Yelp 100 Challenge 2019 - # 6/100 The employees are so cheerful and warm that one gloomy and cold day. Ordering was a breeze and paying with the Starbucks app was hassle-free. Probably some employees are more aware that when paying through the app you don't have to ask the customer their names as it'll automatically print out the correct spelling. Et voila! Name is butcher-free and customer is happy. Because this shop shares parking with Costco, burgerim and others it can get hectic. I probably wouldn't willingly drive all the way out here but if I'm doing my Costco run then I'll be sure to stop by. read more

I was craving for Starbucks ice cafe mocha drink on a Saturday morning in early January. I went through the drive thru and the barista was friendly and took my order correctly. This is one of my favorite Starbucks ever. Wonderful people work there. Today I ordered an iced coffee which was watered down. Probably made incorrectly in the morning, and maybe I'm the only person to have said something about it. They graciously offered a cold brew as a replacement. Unfortunately that was also watered down. Both drinks were way off, extremely WEAK. I reluctantly took the cold brew, as it was slightly stronger than iced coffee. And they didn't offer any replacement beyond that (was hoping they'd offer an iced Americano). I drink both of those drinks on a regular basis and I know what they should taste like. I hope they figure out who is making these drinks incorrectly. Sadly I won't be coming back to this store for a while. read more

The baristas in store are rude, they refuse to greet customers walking in, the won't acknowledge you when you're trying to get their attention, and when you ask for an update to your order which shows ready, they tell you "it'll be ready when it's ready." This Starbucks is shared with a Costco so parking is a little tough. There is a small lot in front of it that is shared with a Burger IM and some other small shops, but you'll be circling around still. However, a big plus is that there is a drive through for this Starbucks. The interior of this Starbucks is nice and new and there is almost always empty. Why? Because most people aren't sitting in this Starbucks. The staff at this Starbucks is nice and are willing to go through the menu and help answer your questions. I ordered the Passion Fruit Iced Tea and it wasn't bad. It didn't have a strong Passion fruit taste and it wasn't overly sweetened. The service is quick as well. I did order one of their new sandwiches, a pulled pork cubano and I would have to say to pass in the sandwich. It basically tasted like a ham and cheese sandwich that has been pickled. read more

Really disappointed with Starbucks lately. I thought I would try this location since it was on my way to work. I had ordered Grande Iced Matcha with Vanilla Sweet Cold Foam. But I didn't get the cold foam with my drink (it actually makes a huge difference in the taste). I usually tell the baristas if some thing is wrong but I was in a rush to work and only noticed when I was well on my way. So i called the location instead to get the add-on refunded, but no one would pick up. I usually don't mind, but with Starbucks charging add-ons now, it's annoying that attention to those simple small details isn't made. read more

I fell in love with this location off the freeway that I can get to on my way to work. ... and sometimes as a treat on my way home from work as a reward. These great people here are A1 in my book. A very bad drive through experience if you have bigger SUV or Minivans. The turn to get into the drive thru is so narrow and is a scratch and dent risk waiting ti happen due to the yellow pillar. Terrible cost savings by Starbucks. I now have to take my car to body shop. Ofcourse the exit directly takes you to right only lane which has high speed traffic coming through. This Starbucks is in the same plaza as Costco, next door to Burgerim. Even though I frequent this particular Costco location often, I never came to this Starbucks until this past Thursday. I just recently got sick on Tuesday night (started with sore throat and it's just progressing from there... lucky me) and decided to take a page from Kim T's playbook and figured I would try a medicine ball since she had ordered it numerous of times during flu season last year. So my husband and I came to this location around 7:10 pm. There were 2 people in front of us. The gentleman at the register was trying to use his gift card to pay for his drink but the male employee had some trouble redeeming it for some reason. This took a lot longer time than necessary and so the female customer in front of us decided to leave. Eventually when it was our turn, we ordered: Venti Passion Fruit Iced Tea, $3.25 prior to tax- My husband ordered this for himself and liked it. I usually order this when I come to Starbucks (but I prefer going to Asian tea houses for milk teas). Grande Citrus Defender, $3.45 prior to tax- Typically what is in the medicine ball at Starbucks is 1 bag of jade citrus mint tea and 1 bag of peach tranquility, with some honey and lemonade. Unfortunately this location ran out of both of those teas because everyone has just been ordering it (well it is sick season after all....). So the barista (not the employee taking our order) told me that he can make the drink with the tea bag of defense wellness tea instead and still include the honey and lemonade. I asked the employee, taking our order, what is in it. He clearly didn't know what was in this tea bag because he just said there's tea leaves in it.... (uh there should be because this is a tea bag....). I just said okay I will go ahead and order that. Anyways, regardless of the tea being modified, I thought the drink was helpful in helping to alleviate my sore throat and it was nice to have a hot drink (but was rather scorching when I got it, which I was not expecting and burned my tongue) on a cold evening. --------------------- (Total= $6.70 after tax) When we paid our order with a gift card, the employee had a difficult time redeeming the card just like the male customer before us. The overall experience at this particular location was disappointing. An employee not knowing what was in their own products was rather laughable. He could have just read the ingredients on the bag to me or let me look at it myself so that I could read it (obviously there should be tea leaves in a tea bag... if not, then I probably wouldn't drink it). Also not sure why the employee or the register was having difficulty taking our gift card as payment. I don't really see myself coming back here again. Please note that there are a few tables outside in case you wish to have a drink with your 4 legged pal. There is also a drive through at this location but sometimes it is just faster to order inside. read more
