If anything, the business should've stood behind her decision instead of leaving her to deal with it like that. And that's really the issue for me. It felt like a clear example of how Black women get dismissed in the workplace. She tried to do right by the customer, and instead of being backed up, she was undermined. Whether the mix-up was on me or not, the business didn't care enough to just honor what was already offered and respect the customer experience. For context, I've been coming here almost daily for weeks. I support small businesses, but this left a bad taste. I won't be back.
