I saw a post on IG yesterday of the gumbo and just had to ride out to Pittsburg to give it a try. It took about an hour because there was traffic all throughout my city as well as approaching the Caldecott and again in HWY 4. When I arrived, there wasn't anyone ahead of me so I was able to order right away. I assumed I would be able to dine-in, but it's take-out. There is a little white bench in front of the grass wall that you can sit and wait though. I placed my order and was given a little buzzer thing to let me know when the order was ready. I ordered chicken and sausage gumbo (added crab meat), kool-aid, and a chocolate cupcake. I went and sat in my car until the order was ready. Order was ready about 20-25 mins. When I made it home, the food was still hot. It was delicious and you can't go wrong with kool-aid. I believe it was tropical punch. I didn't eat the cupcake yet, but it looks moist and good. They don't have dine in services so they give you a buzzer and when your good is ready it will buzz, or you can sit outside the have 2 little tables out there as well. What luck that I needed something sweet to celebrate a coworkers birthday. So fitting, I had to order two of each. Some of the flavors were based off Girl Scout cookies. That alone had me sold. Everyone one was decorated perfectly and tasted even better. Also had to pick up a tray of Carmel brownies. And don't stop at the cupcakes. I believe in sharing good news, especially about good food, and Bakery Bites has set the bar exceptionally high. In order to assess their menu, we ordered the catfish, oxtails, pork chop, and seafood platters. The sides we ordered were the smacking' cheese (Mac and cheese), garlic mashed potatoes, candied yams, and fried corn. There was nothing among the food we tasted that was not amazingly DELICIOUS! We were kindly greeted twice while they were helping the person in front of us.
