Short Review: Anisha's Niche Bakery and Bites has a nice variety of sugary treats and savory foods that are very well balanced and leave you satisfied, but looking forward to more. Everything is very consistent and I don't have anything to really complain about. All in all, come here for the sugar and leave with some lunch/dinner too. You won't be sorry! More Detailed Review: I have been coming to Anisha's Niche Bakery and Bites for almost 2 months now. It's a small bakery in the Hillcrest Sunset Plaza run by two amazingly talented women. It has a cute pink theme and a nice variety of cupcakes, cookies, brownies, drinks, and more! They have tons of different mix-ins for flavored Lemonade Slushies (watermelon + blue raspberry = YUM!), hot chocolate, and a variety of "bites" that are more of a "mouth full" in the best of ways. You can expect a very warm welcome from "Cake-Girl" as you enter and I've been lucky enough to sneak in just after, or right before, they get busy. Any cookie I tried I devoured in seconds, so I've now started ordering two. The brownies are thick, rich, and sweet in just the right amounts and I've liked each and every flavor! The toffee brownie has been my favorite of the brownies while my husband really liked the Butterfinger Brownie, but we will see if the Brookie I just got today is my new favorite. Of their cupcakes I've tried several: Lemon Crunch, Strawberry Crunch, Sweet Potato, Banana Pudding cupcake, Oreo Madness, and Red Velvet. The Lemon Crunch was good, but I do prefer my lemon to be a bit tarter. Even though it was sweeter than I prefer, it was still very moist, the cookie on the outside (the crunch part) was really good, and the small bit of lemon curd was the best (just wanted more of the curd). The Strawberry Crunch was perfect: creamy frosting, fresh strawberry, moist cake, and very well balanced. I'd love the Sweet Potato cupcake even more if it had a little bit more sweet potato flavor, but it's light, balanced, and perfect if you want a little sugar without it being too sweet and I do plan on getting it again. The Banana Pudding was good, but my husband wanted just a little bit more banana. Lastly, the Oreo Madness and Red Velvet are great as they are, perfectly balanced for my tastes! My favorite part, however, are the "bites". Now, they may call it a "bite", but I have to say that the portions are nice and large. I've tried Gumbo, Turkey Chops Smothered, Shrimp and Grits, Fish Fry, and more! Due to my terrible bell pepper allergy I'm unable to enjoy many southern dishes, however, these ladies have not had bell pepper in the items I've ordered and I've been able to enjoy some AMAZING food! OMG, I don't know if I come here more for the sugar or the food, but I think I've finally figured out the "secret ingredient" added to every dish... it's LOVE. I taste the LOVE in this food! I finally tried Shrimp and Grits (I know, I live in a cave) and the party in my mouth had me dancing in joy! There were so many flavors that blended in with the next, the grits were smooth and creamy, and the shrimp were cooked PERFECTLY! The gumbo is delicious and I will order it again and again! Just enough kick not to overpower the flavors of the sausage and the okra was perfect and not slimy at all. The Fish Fry was so delish that I had to call and thank the chef! Best fish fry EVER and I LOVE any seafood! I will say the best of the best of the food HAS to be the Soul Food Sunday choices. The Turkey Chops Smothered are TO.DIE.FOR! The breading has so much flavor and blends well with the gravy. There aren't any sides that I haven't liked (the yams are my favorite and don't forget to try the Smack n' Cheese!) and I plan to try just about everything they make. The prices are about average for their treats and match other similar businesses. Food prices will vary with what you order, but the portions and flavor are so good that I don't even look at the price for anything anymore. I believe the food is WELL WORTH the price. Once your tastebuds get a hold of the treat/food, you'll agree with me. I'm so excited for the new year and looking forward to all the new things these amazing women accomplish. You're not getting what you paid for given their price range. The cupcakes are too sweet and if you are looking for some with fillings, they don't have any. They say they switch flavors weekly, but it doesn't say that on the website; which, btw, showcases cupcakes with fillings. They're friendly. That's a big plus. read more

The people in here were very nice! The cupcakes are beautifully made and taste pretty good. The only down side is the pricing are a bit expensive for how small the cupcake actually is! $3-4 a cupcake. read more

This place is the highlight of Antioch!! The staff was courteous and extremely helpful!! I went on a day where they were serving turkey chops, and I can't explain how flavorful these trickery chops smothered in gravy were! To accompany my chops, I ordered the rice and gravy, greens, and candied yams... ALL WERE DELICIOUS!! I saw the billboard for this bakery about a month ago, I went in and was greeted by friendly faces. I tried a couple of different cookies and cupcakes but my favorite thing of all was the toffee cookie. I don't know what it is but it's SO good.
