My husband and I are new to Oakley, Ca and I sometimes crave for Mexican pastries. Glad we found this place near our home. It is a small bakery but they sell several pastries. One of my husband's favorite is their corn bread! It is different with real corn in it. We share it with family and friends and they love it too! They have other delicious pastries and reasonably priced. They also bake cakes and you must preorder them. The place is clean and staff are friendly. read more

I've lived in Oakley my whole life and have stopped by every once in a while to grab a sweet bread whenever we get a craving. But now La Michoacana Bakery has become one of our little stops on our bike rides. I mean who doesn't enjoy having a little sweet treat when you're out?? Sometimes I get a little bummed out when I'm hoping for a certain bread to be there and it isn't, but it just means I get to try something different. I'm not sure if they run out or if they rotate items, but it seems to happen to me often. They also sell tamales on the weekends, which I have tried and enjoyed. read more

It's nice to see a Mexican bakery in Oakley. We've been wanting to check them out and we finally have a chance to buy some of their pastries and bread. It's a small place but they offer a variety of Mexican pastries. We were greeted warmly and they are very helpful. We bought a few of their pastries and they have their best selling breads. It's on a big pan located right next to the cashier. We can't resist but buy them. They're very good. It's soft but not that sweet. It's huge in size compared to your usual dinner roll. They also offer cakes but you have to order them in advance. read more

Ever since I moved, I been in search for a really good panaderia. I finally came here after hearing really great things about this place. Upon arriving, the owners were really sweet and welcoming. Everything is made on site, as I was looking to pick bread of choice, the fresh bread was coming out from the oven, and being put out on the racks. The bread is so soft, and delicious. I will definitely be back to try the rest of their sweet bread. read more

I've always loved this bakery's cakes, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I wanted to order a tres leches cake for my daughter's first birthday, so I called six days in advance to place the order. I was told to call back a day or two before because they tend to lose tickets and sometimes orders don't go through. That alone felt odd, but I trusted them. When I called back today, exactly as instructed, I was told they didn't think they could make the cake. I explained that I had tried to order almost a week ago and followed their directions, but it didn't matter--the order still couldn't be accommodated. This bakery has been around since I was a kid, and I genuinely wanted to continue supporting a local business, but the lack of organization and accountability is unacceptable--especially for an important milestone like a first birthday. Unfortunately, this experience has driven my business elsewhere. The cakes are great, but reliability and customer service matter just as much. read more

very good variety and delicious Mexican sweet bread! There are not many Mexican bakeries around contra costa county ! So this Oakley panderia is special! Love it read more

I guess I have to give this place another try, they open at 6am and the shelves were empty all but concha's.. used to SJ bakeries fully loaded when they open till they close read more

Well, nothing to break a piñata over. They are ok for the Pan they have on site. Variety seems to be marginal compared to other locations, but they are close and satisfying my pan craving. Location is a bit small. I will come back again if I'm in the area and have a craving. read more

I visited La Michoacana Bakery for the first time yesterday and immediately felt like I was stepping into a small panaderia is some Mexican pueblo. No frills, small & quaint--this spot is equal parts charming and convenient. My pan dulce purchases were tasty, and their options were not bad for a late Sunday afternoon (but I can't wait to come back during "off-hours" to get my pick of the racks). They take cards & Apple Pay -- and also sell fresh birote for your tortas or pambazos. read more

This bakery is so cute! It has a "small/local business" feel to it, which I love! The staff are polite and attentive. We heard a lot about their tres leches cakes, so we ordered one for a birthday in the family. The smallest one they make can feed 20 people! But the price was very reasonable! The pickup went off without a hitch, and the cake looked very nice. It has some heft to it! This is a weighty and tasty cake! I really like the flavor of the cake. The frosting was very nice as well! The strawberry marmalade was good. We would eat this cake again! The only thing we wanted more of was the marmalade and the frosting. I really appreciated that the cake was very moist, but not leaking everywhere. I really like this place! read more

Once I entered the bakery, first thing you smell was the delicious baked goods. The lady that works here and young man are both very friendly. I spoke no Spanish but yet, they treated me like I was one of their own. The prices are affordable and the workers that we ordered the food for really enjoyed the tamales. Thank you ...thank you ...we like supporting businesses in our home town. read more

I'd give 0 stars if I could! Called and got hung up on because I didn't speak Spanish. Then I figured maybe I could go in to see if they had ready made tres leches cakes.. went at 1pm on a Tuesday.. business hours say they're open until 830pm... but upon arriving- THEY WERE CLOSED!! Waste of time. Don't know how they get business if they're hanging up on people and not posting the correct business hours. read more

They have the best conchas I have ever had. The service is great, the lady who worked the front desk was very sweet and patient. The prices are also super affordable which I love. Me and my mom love coming here. Astounding. read more

Giving 2 stars out of respect for how good this place used to be, otherwise it would be 1 star. This place used to be amazing. Recently though, so stale, it is impossible that it was made that day. Maybe not even the day before. Just sad. read more

What can I say? I'm a huge fan. They have tasty baked goods for a very fair price, and the folks are always kind. I have 2 favorites. One is a thick slice of bread covered with butter, sugar and dried coconut. The other is like a bread pudding cake. OMG, it's SO good. I learned about this place via word of mouth from a guy I ran into at La Isla Bonita. Word of mouth is the best. And on certain days, they also have tamales. But they go really fast. read more

Best Tres Leches in the East Bay! We ordered a birthday cake for 40 people here and there was more than enough cake for a half size sheet pan. This is as moist as a cake gets! read more

I would like to share my experience with La Michoacana at 3370 Main St in Oakley. AMAZING! I hired them to do custom breads (pan dulce) for my husbands surprise party this past weekend, they did the colors I asked for, made half size pastries per my request, and they were made just an hour or two before the event- can't get any fresher! They were beautiful, my house smelled like a bakery and they were the hit of the party! Very affordable price, I can't thank them enough! And did I say how delicious they were? Soooo good! read more

If you are looking for an authentic and delicious bakery this is it! I've always ordered a tres leches cake for birthdays here and they are always the best (brought one to work and was a hit with EVERYONE.) The bread is delicious and fresh. Most recently they went above and beyond when I needed to order a Rosca for my daughters school project. I knew it would be a stretch since it wasn't the season for them but they were super accommodating and made it happen. Thank you La Michoacana Bakery! read more

Best bread ever my dad used to make pan dulce when I was a kid and this is the closest flavor I've found

$4 for four pieces of bread??? It wasn't specialty bread either. I was so taken back by the price that I wouldn't go back. I can go elsewhere and pay 1/2 price. read more

This is where I go to order my tres leches cakes. Delicious. Pan dulces and tamales. Great service. I recommend La Michoacana Bakery. Muchas gracias. read more

Let me start off by saying, this Panaderia is super affordable. They have the best Tres Leches cake ever! I had them make my daughter's Dora birthday cake last year and it was perfectly delicious. I plan on using them again, this year. I'd like to make a point about Martin's comment, Mi Pueblo does have a large selection, but it doesn't taste as good as La Michoacana. Mi Pueblo's Tres Leches, tastes horrible. If you want authentic and great tasting Tres Leches, then go to La Michoacana Panaderia in Oakley. read more

Let's just say I got up at 6 am on a weekend just to go back. Sure I could have gone later but I would have risked them being sold out of my favorites and more importantly the warmth that comes with fresh baked good when they are fresh out the oven. This place at first glance may not beg you to stop and come in but once you finally do you will wish you had been stopping in all along. While the donuts, churros, and turn overs are fantastic my favorite is the bread that is filled with Jalapeños and cream cheese. So if you go in and only want to try one thing I would highly recommend trying it first. Beyond all the deliciousness that is over flowing from the shelves the prices are extremely reasonable. Your money will go a long ways. So don't be lazy, wake up and treat yourself to some early morning goodness. read more

This is a little Mexican bakery. The Mexican bread is authentic. Bolillos and concha's and puerquitos and many other sweet breads. you can special order tres leches cakes so yummy. There is a refrigerator with flans and jellos and sometimes slices of tres leches cake. It's a hidden treasure. When you walk in you see a big container filled with fresh bolillos (Mexican bread sandwich rolls). Yumm. read more

You have to try their Tres Leches cake slices, which are moist, refreshing, and sweet as a mother's love. They come in generous portions, topped with cheerful sprinkles, and only cost a dollar apiece. The establishment is probably no bigger than your kitchen. The ambiance is not the best--dim lighting, drab decor. But the colorful pastries are super cheap and really catch your eye behind the glass. They also sell a few drinks, like Kern's, and popsicles. The cake alone--the crowning glory of the store--is worth traveling here for. Plus, there is always someone really friendly and helpful at the register. read more

This place is located just up the street from Pasale's Mexican Restaruant y Tacqueria (now closed) and next to the El Sombero Liquor & Bait Store on Main St Oakley. I'm no expert on pan dulce, but this store offers a small selection of very tasty Mexican sweet breads, cookies and donuts for very reasonable prices. They certainly don't have a selection of pan dulce you can find at Mi Pueblo in Pittsburg, but that's over 10 miles away. I got a bag of 7 different items including a concha, a great sugar cookie, a very tasty coconut cream filled bread and some other things for only $2.80. So, it's cheap and you'll definitely get your money's worth. They are open 7 days a week from 5am (at least that's what they're business card says) until 9pm on weekdays and 8pm on weekends. So, if you're in the mood for some pan dulce, you can get some at almost any hour here. read more

So almost every weekend my mom goes and buys bread here early in the morning.... it's still nice and warm its so hard to resist diet fail!....... The conchas are HUGE! And very moist not dry at all they also sell Fresh bolillos ( bread rolls) and teleras which is like a bread roll but not as chubby or long there mostly used for Tortas...They also make cakes not super fancy ones but super tasty! Oh they also have a bread roll type bread with cream cheese and pickled jalapeños i can eat a ton of those...but then there would be fire coming out of my ass! :) read more
