It's been years since our last Doré visit back when it was next to the movie theater at The Streets of Brentwood yet everything tastes just as good as it did way back then. We ordered breakfast sandwiches: one with egg, spinach & avocado and the other egg & bacon in croissant .. delicious! Overall friendly and quick service. This bakery is super cute! The space is clean and inviting. Quiet when I went on. Monday morning, if anyone wanted to just take a seat and work on a laptop, this place is perfect. The service was prompt, which I appreciated. They were also friendly, just ask for your utensils and napkins. The food looks great too! The crust on the tarts are not the shortbread or pie crust that I'm used to. I'm not sure how to describe it, but both the lemon tart and the mixed berries tart were good! read more

We got delivery by DD for a Friday afternoon lunch. We ordered a chicken panini sandwich, a truly sandwich and turkey and cheese croissant . Service was quick and we enjoyed sharing each. Next time we plan to go into the place and have a sit down lunch there. read more

The very best French pastries! My favorite items are the Kouign-Amann & the Almond croissant. The Kouign-Amann is a very delightful treat with flaky layers and caramelized sweetness. This treat stands out due to the unique rich contrast between crispy exterior and soft interior. Everything is fresh. I used to love Dore, but recently they've been slipping in quality. My main concern is whoever is fulfilling their online pick-up/to-go orders. I ordered 3 items online this morning and I honestly thought it was insane how many errors there were. 1. I ordered a strawberry tart, they gave me a strawberry éclair. They essentially overcharged me $1.10 for something I can't eat since I'm lactose intolerant and can't have a lot of dairy. 2. They give you the impression everything is fresh, but today I know for certain that is not the case. The pecan tart I ordered was still FROZEN inside. When you're charging almost $8/tart, it's unacceptable for them to be frozen when you're serving them to people. At least defrost them a little first. I'm really sad about this review because I wanted to love this bakery, but I've given them around a dozen chances and half the time I have a problem with my order. I think it's time for me to walk away. :( read more

Doré is one of the first bakeries my husband and I went to when we moved to Brentwood. We have had the opportunity to try a variety of pastries and deli food since then and we have really enjoyed everything we've tried from the sandwiches to the desserts. The croissants are always very flaky and the apricot Danish actually has apricots on it rather than jam, which is lovely. My husband recently went to Doré to get me a variety of treats since I am recovering from surgery, and the staff were all very patient with him while he took photos of the case and texted them to me so I could pick from bed. He said they were very polite and never rushed him while he took time to do that. It's just a cute little family bakery and we love it. read more

I live 30 minutes away in Walnut Creek and will not go to any bakeries near me because compare to this one. I wish I were over exaggerating, but it's actually been pretty irritating not being able to find anything closer that compares to this place. Their croissants are always made perfectly. I'm keto but break my diet for this place every few months when I'm out in Brentwood for an extended period of time, which should tell you how good this place is lol. As native French person, I missed my French pastries, and we found this bakery, so disappointing. Too sweet. Macarons were CRUNCHY, so sweet, and put in a plastic box like some random leftovers. The pastries were ok, although the one we took was not what they labeled it to be (a Clafoutis is NOT that, my friend). When we entered, no one even spoke French. And in our culture, we DON'T use plastic, and we recycle, they call their bakery " French ", that is not French. Just a regular pastry store. Let's not even mention a ternager coming in from the back in sweatshirt, grabbing a pastry with bare hands from the display thing, with costumers out front! Not hygienic AT ALL and so rude. BEST BAKESHOP IN EAST BAY! MUST TRY! We tried them first at the Brentwood Farmer's Market. It was so gooood I need them the next day! They are NOT located beside AMC at the Streets of Brentwood anymore like in one of the photos here. Rather, they're in outlet at the intersection of Brentwood and Nancy. Try their brownie with walnuts! My partner doesn't like brownies but Doré's was so good that when I bought two for myseld she asked if she could have an entire one for herself! Another immediate favorite was the croissant with almonds, chocolate, and banana. We're still trying to go through their entire selection because everything is so delicious. If you wanted something specific and the shelf at the front is empty you can ask if they have some more available at the back. They usually do! This is a hidden gem in Brentwood but it's so good it shouldn't be hidden at all! Gotta share the deliciousness to everyone. read more

I *heart* Dore! It's like having a little bit of Paris in Brentwood, CA. We get catering from them for both breakfast and lunch fairly often, I've been to their brick and mortar store for breakfast, and have gotten cakes for special occasions. Everything is always stellar. My favorites are the chocolate crossiant, ham and cheese croissant, ham and cheese quiche and chicken pesto sandwich. Rich, buttery goodness is found in all of their baked goods: the foundation of any legit French pastry. (The owner was trained in pastry in France.) A gem here in the east bay! read more

I hosted a family lunch and was in need of cakes. I stumbled across Dore bakery and went to check it out. I ordered 2 cakes for next day pick up. The cakes ( vanilla cheesecake and chocolate mousse were lovely and delicious, my guests and I were very pleased. I was excited to have left overs to enjoy the cakes that much longer. I think this is our new favorite bakery in the East Bay (and we've tried a lot!) How are people not talking about this place? We had 4 pastries from them at the Martinez farmer's market (we started with 1 but then went back for 3 more!) The pistachio croissant with cream was our favorite. Lots of cream and the pastry is oh-so-flaky! We also had a strawberry croissant with jam. It was a bit too sweet for us but love how generous they are with fillings. It's been awhile but we think that this spot is most like the pastries we had in France. We're so sad that their brick and mortar is far from us but we'll definitely be hitting them up again at the farmer's market! read more

Went here because I was feeling carrot cake. Ordered that and a creme brulee. As I went to dive my fork into a hopefully delicious carrot cake, I was quickly disappointed. The cake was soooo dry that upon my fork diving into it, it crumbled instantly to pieces. I couldn't eat it, as that was how dry the cake was. Moving onto the creme brulee, the egg was beaten to long that it wasn't a smooth brulee texture, but more like a scrambled egg, topped with burnt sugar. If the owner was best known for in 2015 and 2016 for it's pastries, his quality sure went down hill because what I had was extremely horrible. My husband ordered an iced caramel macchiato, and the lady had called her son to come out front to make it, and this boy touched his hair using both his hands to sweep his bangs back, followed by NOT WASHING his hands prior to making his coffee. I haven't been here but I'm so disappointed to see their hours change last minute! I was visiting Brentwood yesterday (Sunday) and my friend told me that there's a very good bakery in town. I checked their Yelp hours and as of yesterday, they were supposed to be open today, Monday!!! My friend and I were so excited so she drove to town and I practically skipped work and stayed in town so we could visit Dore. Woke up this morning, checked the place out and Yelp says they're closed today!!! What a bummer! It shouldn't be my concern what they do with their hours of operation, but how do you patronize a business that only opens a few days a week and changes hours/days last minute??? I wanted to love the new location, but I could not get past the acrylic smell that was taking over the bakery. There is a nail shop next door, but the smell was so overpowering, it smelled like the nail shop was inside. Hopefully that is temporary and can be corrected. The pastries are still good. read more
