We were just passing through the area and decided to stop here after seeing all the great reviews. Unfortunately, it just wasn't our cup of tea. Came in and the hostess didn't even greet us. We just stood there confused until she decided to speak to us and ask how many. The first thing we noticed was how warm and stuffy it was inside. There didn't seem to be much ventilation, and combined with how loud it was, the whole place felt pretty chaotic. There were also several kids crying, walking around and screaming during our visit. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, French toast, and the breakfast burrito. The French toast was the best of the three, although I think the butter did a lot of the heavy lifting. The biscuits and gravy and breakfast burrito were both pretty bland. The burrito itself was also quite hard, and the hash browns inside it were overcooked and overly crispy. For $16 you also didn't get a side. One thing that was annoying was that I asked for a side of sour cream and was charged $1 for a tiny condiment cup without our waitress letting us know there would be an extra charge. The burrito came only with salsa (Pace salsa) while the less expensive breakfast quesadilla includes both salsa and sour cream. Make it make sense. Also, it seemed like the other waiters and waitresses gave kids a kids water cup but our little girl didn't get one or was offered a water at all. We gave her some of our water. Overall, this place wasn't for us, and I wouldn't return or recommend it based on our experience. But, it was crowded! Was within walking distance and had online ordering, so I had to give it a try. Veggie Benedict: Almost the same as a Florentine Benedict, but no spinach. Still, it was delicious. Despite its rough looking presentation when I received it (granted everything was just shifted to one side of my container when I was eating it), I enjoyed the meal. The eggs were poached perfectly and the Hollandaise sauce was great. The hash browns could have been crispier, but still, I enjoyed my meal. Update 3/2/25 Another visit to Lumpy's for our Hawaiian breakfast fix of Loco Moco. Again, an excellent breakfast choice. The hamburger patty is NOT over cooked and dry, but really tender and tasty. The spam fried rice is the perfect foundation for Lumpy's iteration of Hawaiian Loco Moco. The green onion palm tree is really cool and cute representation of an "island" of delicious food! A rating of 5/5! Loco Moco is not on Lumpy's main menu. It's only prepared on selected days. You can call to see what days Lumpy's will put their loco moco on their menu. We've been here for almost thirty minutes and they ignored us for the first fifteen minutes. Our server helped five other tables before we had to flag her down to get her to take our orders. My family and I love coming here for the all around, great diner experience. The menu is definitely delicious and will get your taste buds salivating over the many choices available. My usual, is the double hash browns, bell peppers and onions with avocado slices, fruit and dry toast. The staff is always kind, fun and you can tell they enjoy their job. WOW, just had dinner at Lumpy's Diner. I found out that this was the second day of their new Thursday and Friday dinners. Tonight, I had an amazing New York Steak, seasoned to perfection, with mash potatoes with gravy and string beans. Totally fantastic!! Came in on a really busy Saturday morning and service was so quick. From the young guy at the front to the waitresses everyone was friendly. We sat at the counter and had a really good breakfast. Place is really cool love the car vibe. We ordered: Denver Omelette with cheese added mushrooms (5/5) Sooo good! I would come back over and over for this. Like a really good homemade breakfast. Went to have breakfast and ordered bacon and eggs, which came with hashbrowns and toast. Everything except the toast had this taste of rancid grease. I have done a lot of cooking in my days, and there's nothing worse than dumping in a big batch of potatoes that you have cut up to fry into a skillet with bacon grease, only to find out, after they were already cooked, that the bacon grease was rancid, and you've wasted all of those potatoes and all the work that went into peeling and cutting them up. That's what the food tasted like. The hashbrowns were all separated and were served like little brown potato sticks that were even hard to pick up with a fork. The service was excellent. My server's name was Holly. She has served me before, and is not only very efficient but very friendly. I will most likely keep going back because I've been here several times and most of the time. It's really good. They're worth checking out, I would just stay away from the hashbrowns. read more

I came in with my mom on a Friday after the lunch rush (around 1:30 pm). I'd been curious about Lumpy's for years after growing up near Digger's on Willow Pass in Concord. From what I understand from the internet, Lumpy was the son of the Digger's crew, and was on his way to tearing up the second-generation diner scene when he sadly lost his life at the age of 35 from a cardiac health issue. My sincere condolences to his community, it was nice to see his portrait living on in this location. Our waitress/server was incredibly kind & friendly, and was on top of everything - hot sauce, solid menu recommendations, refills. Major love for her. Both of us ordered the Taco Salad ($13) and found it to be pretty okay. The fried shell was the draw, of course, and was even scored so it was easier to tear off pieces of fried dough chunks. Yes, this was my cheat day. The Taco Salad is the fried shell layered with chili, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, guac, salsa - all the Taco Night fixings of suburban youth. If nothing else, the chili that needs some heat! The pickled jalepeños were a great add, but maybe some cayenne & garlic in the main stew. Lumpy's Diner is very popular among the locals so thought of checking it out .... After entering we choose our seating since it was not crowded we had a nice place to sit. Immediately our server came had a nice chitchat & brought us some house coffee which was nice since it was little chilly & windy outside. She left us alone so that we don't feel rushed for ordering which helped us ... being first time I wanted to check the menu. After giving our order I was enjoying the murals & the decor loved their ambiance. It was nice to see some locals enjoying their coffee & breakfast. I choose Lumpy's skillet - country potatoes, cheddar cheese,onion,bell peppers,sausage & 3 eggs scrambled with toast ( wheat) . It was good I liked the crunch of onions & bell peppers and it was filling. My husband ordered Rapture Benedict- poached eggs, grilled biscuit, hot link with hollandaise sauce. Pretty disappointed by Lumpy's. We order Lumpy's breakfast to go every once in a while as a treat. Usually, the portions are pretty good and the food is tasty. This time, we were kinda shocked to open the box and see that it appeared half our breakfast was missing and also cold. This is literally half the portion we usually receive. And it tasted...off. Like it was old or had been sitting out. The pancakes were cold and rubbery on the edges as if they had been refrigerated then microwaved for a few seconds. Super weird as we have always been happy in the past. Not sure what's going on over at Lumpy's but this order sucked. A lot. read more
