We were a table of six and our server was so warm and patient, she said she was newer there but she knew the menu and was extremely helpful in suggesting items. She didn't get one thing wrong! Coffee kept coming and the Benedict I got was your usual the packages were fluffy and moist (shared with my sister) and the table had all you needed from cream, sugar to all the sauces. I've been here multiple times but this review is specifically only for the infamous Pittsburger, iykyk, only available on Fridays, with limited quantities. Every time I visit home I try to stop by Lumpy's to get this bad boy but they're always sold out. So this time around I came prepared. On Friday morning I called right when they opened at 7:00 AM to place a pre-order for 3 Pittsburgers ($25.17). The woman I spoke to on the phone said they're made around 9:45 AM, so I came back around 9:30 to pick them up. They were piping hot when I got them but unfortunately we ate them about 2 hours later because we brought them to an Alcatraz tour. These seem different from the ones I had when I went to PHS. They're definitely bigger and don't remember them being so dense (then again I haven't had one in ages). It's basically a Sloppy Joe with ground beef, a lot of ketchup, onions, cheese, and bread. Very simple ingredients but a ton of nostalgia. Anyone who went to PHS would say they adored the Pittsburger, so if you're feeling nostalgic on a Friday morning, definitely order one. read more

Took my mom and daughter out to lunch today. . My daughter loves the Frisco Burger and the Cajun Cheese Fries. I usually get breakfast, but today I got the Flying Dutchman and Nacho Cheese Fries. My mother got the Chili Cheese Omelet. Delicious as always. We were all happy with our food. The service here is always on point. The waitresses are always attentive and professional The decor here is great as well. It gives an old school vibe. I've been here so many times but this was my mother's first time. She loved everything about it. It can be a bit noisy, especially for her due to her using hearing aids, but we managed. Overall though, Lumpy's will always be one of my go-tos. From the food, to the service, to the old school feel, Lumpy's in Pittsburg is one of my favorites. read more

downtown pittsburg has amazing spots, and lumpy's diner was no exemption to the awesome restaurants located here. once you come in, you are politely told to take a seat anywhere, indoor and outdoor. your waiter helps you out and provides menus for you eggs Benedict was today's brunch, with country potatoes. eggs Benedict were superb, with poached eggs cooked well, and potatoes seasoned. ambiance was smooth at first, but as noon hit, it got busy with lots of customers indoors (a plus for me) shoutout to the staff of hard working women, and them representing this establishment with hard work and extremely nice customer service read more

We love to support local and small businesses, especially restaurants. We have been coming to Lumpys for years. Everytime, we sit OUTSIDE and have our 5 lb dog inside of a backpack on a chair. The ground is hot. We have never had a problem until this last time we came. The waiter just popped her head out of the door and said, "we don't allow dogs on our furniture." We get that is their policy (all of the sudden), but to be rude about it is another thing. So we just left. It was fine though because we ended up finding a great place to eat after. Pretty dissapointing considering the burger itself isn't cheap plus you have to pay up an extra 5 dollars for what's supposed to be enough fries for two people- but those aren't even enough fries for an ant to snack on. However, the host working today was not very welcoming no smile, and her attitude came off as pretty hostile. When we asked for a table outside, she just said, "Well, that's going to be a longer wait." I told her that was fine and that we could take a table inside instead. She said "okay" but never took our names or gave us a wait time, so we just sat and waited. I happened to see our usual server, who smiled and greeted us warmly such a contrast to the host. The lack of communication and friendliness made us feel uncomfortable, so we decided to leave and go to the Lumpy's in Antioch instead, where we had a great experience as always. The host is the first face customers see when they walk in, and that interaction sets the tone. Ordered the all meat omelette this morning and was very disappointed. my hash browns were cold and hard like chips looked like they were sitting for hours. My omelette looked like it was scrambled and the cheese was all on the side not even melted. I didn't want to complain because the server was very nice.I over heard the lady sitting behind me telling her husband about their food wasn't right at all right before I left. The food was amazing, the waffles weren't too sweet and were so good, honestly best waffles I've had in such a long time! Another restaurant that's right next to my work and walking distance - I'm glad it is because it's a great lunch option if I for some reason forget to pack my lunch or get lazy to the night before (We've all been there!) I usually get a cheeseburger and some fries - I've always been curious to try their breakfast foods. I only hear great things from my coworkers because they also come here often. The cheeseburger and fries is great quality for diner food and the price makes it all worth it! If you call in ahead of time and ask them to have your order ready by a later time, they will not fail you! Calling in my order has been a blessing because it allows me not to waste time during my lunch break waiting for them to prep the food. I call in, wait for lunch, walk to pick it up, and it's ready to go! And the best part is that they time it so well because my food is always hot and fresh when I pick it up even if I call ahead! Food was cold had to heat it up. So the eggs got over cooked, n the toast n the hash browns was soggy.

My husband and I ate around 2pm Saturday 12/16/2023 we were extremely disappointed in our brunch meal 1 order was a steak and eggs crispy hash browns and a soft fajita chicken omelette. I ask for steak to be Medium rare . It came back almost WELL done on one side and WELL done on the other with a dried cooked mushroom attached to it??? I didnt order any mushrooms!!I informed the waitress she apologized , I then explained please medium a little pink in side , I explained to the waitress a different way so my communication was clear to the cook , it then came back extremely RARE UNCOOKED .I then had to approach the window to inform the cook HOW to cook a STEAK . My Husband's Omelet egg OVER cooked chicken DRY vegetables hard and big chunks I was So Disappointed the Only good thing on my plate was my eggs over medium was good and the Hash browns cooked well . We normally go to the Brentwood Lumpy's but they were closing at 2pm Pittsburgh closes at 3pm .. Antioch Lumpy's is always hot and delicious. Also our toast was cold and already buttered as if it was sitting . I hope the Owners Contacts us for 43+ dollars and my husband also Tipped the waitress . This place had a lot of workers, they all were friendly. This place was also busy, and was recommended by many people on a local Facebook group. My mom told me she loved their eggs Benedict. My husband enjoyed their biscuits and gravy and grits. My son ordered the churro waffles ---which were the BEST WAFFLES I EVERY TRIED (he let me try it). The hot cocoa and whip cream was served in huge mugs and was very yummy. The only reason I am docking a star is because the corned beef hash isn't the homemade/ fresh kind. It is the processed kind and compared to Mimi's who made homemade corned beef hash, it was a let down. Even my daughter ordered the corned beef hash, thinking it would taste like the home made ones, so she didn't finish her breakfast. As a family, we really enjoyed getting out to eat breakfast, as we do not do it often. So, in all we enjoyed going there, and I loved the patriotic shirts the workers wore, but I do need to find a place that makes their corned beef hash from scratch. read more
