Omar, one of the gracious individuals who takes your orde, let us know, they are offering made-to-order falafels, $1 each served with their inhouse yogurt sauce. I ordered three falafels. They were delicious. I shared with Omar that the falafels would be great served a green salad and pita bread. Even with just the dipping sauce the falafels are worth try. My friend ordered a gluten free Belgian waffle. It is not on the menu. She ask if Omar could have the kitchen make the waffle with her gluten free waffle mix that she brought.. He was gracious enough to make the waffle. Their kitchen is not set up for gluten free and my friend does gluten free as a dietary option not because it is a medical necessity. My husband always ordered their Belgian waffles. It is my husband's regular order As a side, he orders a bowl of fruit. New item: You can get a bowl of grits. I asked if the grits could be ordered eggs overeasy and a side of bacon as a side. Another woman mentioned she would order it as a porridge with strawberries. I called the day prior to see if they'd be offering veterans discounts. The employee said they would and just to inform them that I'm a vet. We arrived to a pretty busy atmosphere. The place was packed & a bit understaffed. Seating took about 20mins & service after seating another 30mims. I got the Belgian waffle combo, again. I get cooking larger portions & keeping things warm. My eggs and bacon were not kept warm and were delivered cold. They both were inedible. I politely asked for another serving. The 2nd serving was perfect. That must not have sat well w/mgmt. The gentleman who took my order was the person I spoke w/over the phone. I reminded him of the phone call. Always on the lookout for local dining, I branched out to Pittsburg from Brentwood in search of a different brunch option. Lighthouse Cafe has a great corner space in downtown, that's clean, spacious and offers reasonable prices on their simple and comforting dishes. I ordered a basic Healthy Scramble (egg whites, veggies, topped with avocado) and appreciated the option of getting a pancake in lieu of toast. Nice staff, who was very attentive and the lighthouse themed decor was fun. It's a bit out of the way to drive here on a regular basis but I'll come back. read more

This weekend was their grand opening. The place was filled at 9am but there were still tables available. The staff was spot on. They said just grab an open table, and when we sat, they were spot on. Took our beverage order, coffee and water and came back in a few minutes. Being that the tables were filled, they didn't rush us for our order but checked in twice to see if we were ready to order. The menu has many offerings. So finally my wife and I are lite breakfast eaters. We ordered the Veggie Omelette, hash browns and English muffins to spit between up. Great place for breakfast and lunch in Downtown Pittsburg. We went to Big Daddy Rosses at its previous location and loved the food. This location is definetly a more modern look and feel. The name and location may have changed but the food is still excellent! We had the california omelete, sub toast with a pancake (2.50 upcharge) and the cheeseburger with french fries. The omelete was fluffy, good amount of ingredients inside, and they didn't skimp on the avocado. The pancake was tasty and super fluffy! The cheese burger was a perfectly cooked, the meat was seasoned well. Very yummy! The french fries were nice and hot! We had a great meal all around. The service was outstanding! Severs would ask if we needed anything or offered refills consistently. The place was busy, which is great to see. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked great! We decided to try Lighthouse since it's a new restaurant in the area. When we walked in, we were greeted by a pleasant aroma coming from the kitchen, which got us excited to try the food. The waiter was polite and took our order without issue. We requested to substitute our toast with one pancake, and he assured us that it wouldn't be a problem. We both ordered the steak and eggs. When the food arrived, we noticed that both the eggs and steak were extremely greasy, with an excessive amount of oil. The steak also had a significant amount of gristle, which made it difficult and frustrating to cut and eat. Additionally, our coffee cups remained empty for quite some time before the waiter came back around. When we received the bill, we were surprised to see that we had been charged for the pancake substitution. We brought it up, and the waiter gave an explanation that didn't quite make sense. I tried to clarify that a substitution usually means replacing one item with another--not adding an additional charge--unless specified beforehand. While we appreciated some aspects of the visit, the overall experience didn't meet our expectations, and unfortunately, we don't plan on returning. read more

Positive: 1. Staff are very friendly. Their manager goes table to table to check on customer experience. They are also sensitive to needs like extra plate when they notice customers share an order. Coffee refill is also managed to ensure everyone gets it before their cup runs low. 2. The ceiling is high enough so the noise from customers isn't too loud. 3. Food was always great. We had been here 2 times during breakfast and so far on both occasion our food orders came great. 4. They put condiments right. Like sugar in a container instead of the small sachets. They put syrup in a dispenser so no need to ask for refill in case. For improvement: 1. Speed of service seems slow. On both times, our food waiting time was between 10 to 15 minutes. So if you are famished, this may not be the place to go for a quick food service. 2. The tables are too close to each other. Bigger built customers would need to move their table or maybe even have to ask customers from neighboring table to move so they can pass. 3. Some misspelled words on their menu...sorry, just my "attention to small details" there ^-^ Overall, we will definitely come back and would also try their lunch menu. read more

My first time at this location and I've never been to the other location as I live over the hill in Pleasant Hill. My friends wanted to meet here as it was halfway to Discovery Bay.
