Well, Bridgehead Cafe, you've officially won us over! We met up with a friend for breakfast, and as first-time visitors, we weren't quite sure what to expect. What we got was delicious food, piping hot coffee, and two absolute gems: Becky and Tammy. Let's start with Becky. She kept the coffee flowing and somehow made every refill feel like a visit from a friend. She is genuinely one of the sweetest people you'll meet, and we loved chatting with her throughout our breakfast. Now Tammy... this woman is a rock star. She went out of her way to tell us about the specials, checked on us often, and made sure we were happy with everything. You can tell she truly cares about her customers and takes pride in making everyone's experience a great one. And the food? So good! The O'Brien potatoes deserve their own fan club. Crispy, flavorful, and downright addictive. We cleaned our plates and seriously considered ordering more potatoes just because. It's places like this that keep people coming back. If you want a breakfast plate this is the place to go! I almost went to McDonald's but after fining this place on Yelp I took the extra minute drive. It was well worth it! As I walked in, it look renovated and up to date with the decor. I got seated promptly by Tammy. Tammy was managing my table and a few others. The vibes of the place was my type, a mom and pops diner. Tammy suggested a pork ribeye but I proceeded with the half plate of steak ham! Oh brother was that a plate, I also ordered a pancake which was amazing. This place overall is a nice local diner, come in and support a small business. They recently renovated and it looks great. They were short staffed but we still had great service ! The breakfast is one of the best meals around and the price is very reasonable. We eat here at least once a month but I can see a lot of locals eating here more often. They also have events, live music and I imagine you could rent out the venue as well. Bathrooms are clean and if you want to split one of their huge breakfasts you can for a small fee. Perfect for our breakfast. read more

This is the biggest surprise for me. It's a little, modest little one story bar and restaurant that is a great place for Sunday night dinner too in addition to breakfast and lunch. It didn't look like the food would be really good but this is taking me back to the old style original local neighborhood good eats, great service, and nice clean bathrooms!! We ate here because my partner's band had a gig on a Sunday night to play from 5-8. I was impressed when I saw that the band was eating pork chops (full dinner with garlic toast, veggies, baked potatoes with the works (we are talking bacon, cheese, sour cream, and good old butter). Veggies weren't over cooked either! I ordered liver and onions because I was very much caught up in eating food from my misspent youth. It was very good. Not overcooked and that is amazing. And the gravy was really good too. I had the baked potatoes with the works and promptly forgot my resolutions eat less carbs. (In my defense, I was left unsupervised.) I took mom here for breakfast. You can see they've done some remodeling and added a bar area. Service is great from two elderly ladies. I ordered the hungry man Chicken Fried Steak with was 8oz with three eggs and hash browns. Mine was cooked perfectly. This place is great I have not been there to try the actual food but I go at night when it kind of turns into a club. The appetizers are great though, the ceviche is really good. The service is amazing the waitresses are very attentive and always make sure we're good. The ambience is amazing I like the karaoke and the music that is played there. Not everyone's cup of tea of course but I sure do enjoy and will go again. If I could complain about one thing it's that it is super pricy and I don't go home without spending less than $100 and I don't even drink that much, I will have to restrain myself from going soon because I did find out they charge $5 for water which is outlandish they're already making money off me from alcoholic drinks make the water cheaper. read more

This location is SUPER lowkey and I see why they are. The menu here is HUGE, but so simple. Very affordable and the staff is super family orientated which we love. It is very small inside, but they also have an outside seating and to be honest either or is super accommodating. We were a party of 5 and everything we ate did not disappoint. I had the biscuit and gravy with bacon, eggs and a waffle on the side. I personally had to season my gravy, but I like that a lot only because I like how to season my own sausage and gravy. After I seasoned it, I demolished every bite of it. I also tried my husbands chicken fried steak and of course you can't mess that up. They also have two options of hash brown and both versions (country and shredded potatoes) are cooked perfectly unless you asked them super well done. The waffle its self was super fluffy and perfectly sweet with syrup drenched in it. We definitely make this our weekend spot as a treat only because they are closed by 7pm. Haven't gone here during dinner, but hopefully we can make it. Other than that, we've been here 3x's already and we stick to the breakfast only because we want to try everything - LOL! This old school cafe had a great waitress. She made sure orders were accurate before bringing plates out to the customers. The food could use some improvement. I got the biscuit with egg and gravy. The gravy was a nice consistency and they put plenty on the meal, but it lacked flavor. A little salt and pepper could improve this dish. I opted for refried beans instead of potatoes. The beans could have used a little more cooking and a bit of water to thin out, as they were quite dense. Again, the beans lacked flavor. The OJ just tasted bad. Although I was informed that it came from a machine, it was terrible. Clean your machine or get a different product. read more

Lunch today and not so good unfortunately.My wife had a BLT and asked for no mayo. It came slathered with mayo and soggy. Had to take it apart and eat the bacon by itself. this is a very low key cafe. located on a main road of 18th street, you are met with a spacious parking lot. the entrance is small, but you'll find the way inside after taking seat, we loved the ambiance, which was chill and tranquil. although serving a varied menu of american food all around, most customers are elderly, and are regulars as well. as it was morning time, my mother and i went breakfast mode. my choice was waffle combo. my mother went pancake combo. both had their pros and cons both main dishes were mostly made w whole grain, which is healthier, but not as flavorful as you'd want. our sides of bacon were great, but the ham tasted salty. all around, solid dishes, delivered w a small wait customer service was excellent: our waitress was coming through every so often, and gave us coffee refills. also chatted w us :) although not a perfect meal, we left satisfied and happy read more

I've been here several times and have never given my review. This restaurant has been here since I can remember. It's on the side of a cemetery so you have to get past that. The parking lot is on the side by there's plenty of parking. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating. You wait for someone to seat you . There's a ton of booths . We went on Father's Day they were pretty busy. I like that they had the specials board as soon as you walk in. The menu is simple but it has a lot of good options. I ordered French toast and my husband ordered eggs, bacon,pancakes, and sausage. The portions are very generous. Everything tasted amazing and was very filling. I had biscuits and gravy with eggs and bacon. The eggs were the only good thing on the plate. The biscuits were dry and almost tough and the bacon was cold and almost rubbery. The service was decent. You may wonder why I'd give this spot five stars. Because when you go to a local place like this, you know what you're signing up for. You're going for a family run business, that has been in the community for tens of years. It's not fancy, it's not fine dining, they don't have signature plates, but you will find some really friendly people working hard. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted, sat down and our waitress showed up shortly after. My girlfriend is a biscuits and gravy snob and she loved her biscuits and gravy. I ordered the linguiça and eggs and damn was that chunk of meat huge! Here's something cute/funny, whatever you wanna call it. I ordered a decaf coffee and it showed up in a miniature tea kettle. With what look like a teabag in it. It was the old-school decaf, Folgers bag! I thought, dammit I'm not gonna be happy with this, but I was wrong. Arrived yesterday via Uber to grab a bite while I waited for my car service to be finished. Some rude lady yells were closed very rudely without any explanation. Then she proceeds to scream across the parking lot at two guys getting out of a truck that had pulled in before getting in her car and driving off. Attitude was not required and enough to make me say I will never be back. Long time customer (since I was a kid, now I am almost 40) with Murray. Was going to give the new owners a try but after yesterday experience I won't be back. I don't expect them to stay in business for long. read more

Chicken fried steak is mostly batter, Paper thin steak, no sausage in the gravy and flavorless, hash brown is burnt, decaf coffee was in a tea bag vs fresh brewed tasted so nasty. It was a busy Saturday morning and they were short staffed (like everyone it seems these days) but she kept that beautiful smile on and had us all laughing and happy to wait for our orders (which really wasn't very long after all).
