Bacon was also good, cooked as requested nice and crispy. Finished it off with some scrambled eggs and I was stuffed. Our server was very nice and helpful. She kept our drinks full and checked in often. They easily accommodated our group of 5 and it looked like they have a private toom for larger parties. This was our first time here and everything was pretty good. Our server was great. Very friendly, attentive and fast. The decor of the restaurant is classic diner with old auto signs and other retro touches. It doesn't seem like booths or the bathrooms were renovated since the last place in this location, but still decent and clean. My daughter loved her kids breakfast combo. My wife enjoyed her avocado toast, having fun building it from the ingredients on the plate. My hotdog was good, but messy. Since the bun was a bit crumbly, I used a knife and fork to eat it. This place gives off total roadside diner vibes, which I think is what they are going for. There's license plates and tin signs on the walls, and a gas pump in the waiting area. The staff were super friendly and greeted us as we walked through the front door. We were seated immediately and it was clean, including the restrooms. The menu is all menu all day, cheeseburger for breakfast? Sure. Eggs for dinner? No problem. It was a pretty simple menu, and they had a few specials. We tried a few different things, everything was really good! The prices are fair, we all know the days of $10.00 are behind us...but I would definitely call this place affordable. I came into the diner today for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised with how my experience went. I was greeted by a big smiling face at the door, she sat me and introduced herself as Harper. She made me fresh Ice Tea after I asked if it was made fresh? My BLT, I asked for extra crispy bacon and it was perfect! The tater tots I substituted were crispy and hot, tasted great! Used to go here when it dad's cafe. We loved the service and the food. Went back after they changed to dad's dinner and the food was horrible! The biscuits tasted like premade. The breakfast sandwich was cold and they even forgot the bacon. Asked for extra crunch country potatoes and they came out soggy and cold! We know change happens, but we miss the old menu. The pot roast was our favorite. We would share it. It was outstanding even the corned beef and hash tasted premade! They took the breakfast sandwich off the bill and it still costed us 40 (with tip) for cornbeef, and hash, and two sodas! We will not be back! read more

Dads Cafe used to be one of our go-to spots. I had seen on social media there were mixed reviews about the new ownership. We decided to give it a chance and ordered our usual. There was about 3 other tables occupied. Although the waitress and host were very kind and attentive there didn't seem to be any pride in the food served. The hash browns were very obviously overcooked. The entire meal had a burt flavor and I felt sick an hour later which lasted all day. Since the portions are smaller and the prices increased we wont be returning. read more

I went to Dad's Diner this morning for breakfast. This is my first time going after being a long-time customer of Dad's Cafe. They have put some items up on the wall and added better lighting. In my opinion, the booths need to be replaced. The waitress took my order (Dad's breakfast). The eggs and breakfast potatoes were good. My toast was not! It was as dry as could be. When the waitress FINALLY made it back to my table to check on me (already 3/4 through my meal) she asked if everything was ok. I asked her if they normally put butter on the toast and she said "Yes, they must have just forgot" She then walked away. Never did she offer new toast as she could clearly see I had only taken one bite of the toast. She could totally careless. I will not put her name in this. I hope that they can improve on the wait staff and make me feel like a valued customer because the food is good. I'm changing my review from 2 stars to 4 stars due to the owner's response. read more

This was our first visit. And all we have is positive things to say. I have to disagree with another review that staff was not friendly. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and Staff were all very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is comfy and has good oldies music playing. We loved that! I had the enchilada omelet with chicken and green sauce with hash browns. I don't remember the name of the dish but my husband had 3 breakfast tacos with sausage bacon eggs and cheese served with hash browns browns...he really liked them. The food was flavorful and portions were large. We didn't find the prices any different from any other breakfast/lunch restaurants in the area. They're very much the same. I was genuinely excited to visit this diner after hearing it had new ownership, as it has always held a special place in the community. Unfortunately, my recent experience did not reflect the warm, welcoming standards many of us had come to associate with it. In the past, the atmosphere felt inviting and attentive, with service that made guests feel valued. During my most recent visit, however, the overall experience felt noticeably different. The service lacked the friendliness and attentiveness that once set this diner apart, and the attention to detail -- both in presentation and hospitality -- seemed to be missing. While transitions in ownership can understandably come with adjustments, maintaining consistency in quality and customer care is essential, especially for a long-standing local favorite. I truly hope the new management takes community feedback to heart and works toward restoring the warmth and standards that originally made this diner a place people loved to return to. I remain hopeful that with time and attention, it can once again become the welcoming spot many of us remember. Very disappointed. I used to love this place when it was the old dad's, but whatever they did for the new dads, not good. We were seated, waitress asked for our drinks, brought our drinks, took our order. We never saw her again. Waited about twenty to thirty minutes for our food. A different waitress brought our food to us. My wife ordered white toast, got sourdough. I had no cheese on my omelet. No big deal we ate it anyways. I had to ask a girl cleaning the table next to us For extra sugar. My wife had to ask a different waitress for extra butter. Not one time did our waitress ask If everything was okay. Not one time did I receive a coffee refill. We watched every table around us get service multiple times, but for some reason we were ignored. When we were done eating, we put our plates at the edge of our table and sat there. Again, not a single person took our plates, asked if we were ready for our check or nothing. Finally, we walked to the cashier, and they asked us if we needed help. We asked for our check so we can go, and our waitress looked at us like she didn't even know who we were. She asked what table we were sitting at. My wife and I both just kind of laugh, like you literally have no idea who we are. We paid with the card, like anybody does, and they charge us an extra two dollars. She smiled and told us to have a great day like she didn't just ignore us the entire time we were there. The first time I've never left a tip. That's how frustrated I was, and I politely told her to get better at her job as we left. The food itself wasn't the same as it used to be either. Needless to stay, we will not be going back. Edit: I used profanity? What a lame response from the manager WHO DIDN'T EVEN TALK TO US. Pathetic read more

My husband got a grilled chicken sandwich (juicy chicken breast and fresh produce) and I got one of their specials, a churro waffle (tossed in cinnamon sugar and topped with a cream cheese frosting). Had breakfast there this morning and wanted to give my opinion/experience of Dads Diner. Walked in and immediately acknowledged by the friendly staff and seated right away. There was plenty of people in there eating, so we were not the only ones. Shortly after the server was there to greet and take our drink orders. We ordered churro waffle (had to try- Disney cruise has them too). Plus eggs, bacon etc. the food was great- prices are good too. Our drinks were never empty- we had an excellent experience. I was in Awh of the decor- old license plates/gas pumps etc! There is a banquet room which is nice if you want a little private space for a party/gathering etc. I must say -I'll be back! We loved this place when it was dads. We didn't realize it changes when we came back for breakfast today. Food was ok, it's what you'd expect for diner food. Although I would suggest better griddle cleaning as our pancakes came out tasting like onions and peppers from what I assume was because they sautéed some before making the pancakes and didn't properly clean the griddle in between! The country fried state used to come with 2 pieces and we were disappointed to see only one piece now. I like the new decor & staff uniforms. Was not impressed today.. went in for breakfast and was served extremely burnt hashbrowns basically the whole breakfast except the toast but the hashbrowns extremelyover cooked made the whole breakfasttaste burnt. Place wasn't to busy you'd think if you totally burnt the breakfast you just remake it and not serve it.. hard as burnt rice" hashbrowns" . Probably wouldn't go back. read more
