When I got there I waited for a while to get my order, the waitress was busy taking an order at a table. The empanada was really good although it looks burnt . I'm not impressed with the customer service, maybe next time I'll dine in. There's parking on the street.

We were led to believe their menu was 100% El Salvadorean dishes based on the IG reels which was not the case (sad). We were immediately seated soon after we arrived and while waiting for the service, we witnessed a few groups that came in and left soon after since they couldn't wait 15-20 mins for available tables. Based on the menu presented to us, we were told that there were a few items that weren't available and one of them was "Ube pancakes" and that's when we kinda lost it a bit, like "Ube pancakes?!! Isn't this an El Salvadorean restaurant?! Why offer Ube pancakes?!" Whatever- anyways we told the server we came to try the following: 1 pc rice pupusa with queso con loroco $5.25 1 pc regular masa pupusa with queso con loroco $4.75 1 Desayuno Salvadoreño $15.95 As stated on the menu "Delicious deep fried plantain, scrambled eggs with vegetables, CASAMIENTO (see picture), sour cream, and cheese." There was NO trace of CASAMIENTO on the plate nor were we told otherwise by the server. Moving right along to SERVICE: Understandably so, we didn't expect much when it comes to service with two young adults running the floor (taking orders & cleaning tables) - definitely needs more training! Something as simple as bringing over napkins & utensils either soon after cleaning the table, taking an order or even delivering one of the orders or whatever. We waited probably a good 7 mins before we were given teaspoons for our coffee cups and I was literally halfway done with my rice pupusa (thanks to my teaspoon!) before we were given proper utensils and a mason jar of curtido. Note to self: BYO utensils smh It's as if you're forced to only order "to-go" rather than dine-in. Both pupusas were pretty good, nevermind the experience, but as far as the plate order, we will skip it for now until they figure it out whether or not to serve it with a couple of plain tortillas and/or bread (see picture) and perhaps actually serve CASAMIENTO as stated!

The menus were hard to read... it was a small 8.5x11 in a crumbled up cheap, plastic sleeve and the backside was printed upside down. We ordered a tri tip sandwich to split and it was really bad. Every bite we took, we had to chew around the fat. We don't even think it was tri tip... it was so tough. It was embarrassing leaving a bunch of chewed up meat on the plate. Not only was the meat fatty and tough, it really didn't have much flavor. They used to play Hawaiian music but today it was music with a ton of ads. Not very relaxing. Once our meal was done, I mentioned to the waitress my plate has two giant chips on it... she said unfortunately most of them are that way. Glad we gave them another try, but feel like we wasted our money. We have ordered the sandwich in the past and it was good. Hopefully, they are not struggling... but quality of food, menus and chipped plates are not a good sign. Even the music was a disappointment... no one wants to hear a bunch of ads while dining.

Hungry, depleted, lost (and likely protein-deficient due to the loss of my beloved cheese omelet with avocado), I scoured the earth in search of another breakfast spot nearby, but none were worthy. They just didn't offer up the amazing flavor and friendly faces (hey Omar, Ross, Gaby and da crew!) that Big Daddy's always did. Then, one day, I was picking up a takeout order at a nearby brekkie spot and as I'm strollin' along, Ross himself runs out of their new location to greet me. It was a beautiful reunion and a welcome sight. I finally realized why I hadn't had my omelet in so long even though they had only relocated to downtown Pittsburg: the name change left me totally in the dark! But now that I'm back in the Light(house), I'm back to being a regular fixture in my old hangout. And it's just as good as it always was. Thanks, Big Daddy!
