If you want a place that does Ube justice, this is the place you want to try. I've tried tons of places that sell ube treats and none of them come close to this. I highly recommend their ube butter bars that replicates the ube in the Philippines. Highly recommend this place if you want real ube!
After picking peaches, we were hot and looking for something refreshing. My friend had a craving for halo halo and I checked Yelp and determined that there was a Café 86 nearby. Having been to their location in Union City, we had enjoyed their halo halo. The inside of this location was cozy with a sofa and chair seating section and tables bar tables along the windows. The display case of desserts looked delish, but we were here for the halo halo. They had an Upside Down Halo Halo, but we went with the traditional one. It had jackfruit, red and green gulaman, macapuno, boba, and other items, and topped with a piece of leche flan, corn flakes and a scoop of ube ice cream. I liked how they make it creamy with a coffee flavor instead of the usual shaved ice and condensed milk. You have to eat some of the topping before you can mix it up to be milk shake like. My friend, who ordered first, got her's with vanilla ice cream on top. The worker noticed it and apologized and gave her a scoop of ube ice cream on the side. Having had halo halo from different places in the Bay Area, I think Café 86 makes a pretty darn good one. I remember they use to offer one size at $8, but not it's $11 for a regular and $10 for a mini. For a $1 more, of course, I went with the regular. For a tasty halo halo, check out Café 86.
It's always nice and cool inside, making it the perfect spot to cool down on a hot day. The space has a counter with high chairs by the window, about six tables (four seats each), a lounge area with a couch, plus a foosball table and claw machine for some extra fun. Restrooms are conveniently located on the side. Love how the menu is on huge TVs so you don't have to squint at small menu papers / they also offer QR code. 10/10 friendly and nice customer service. We went by closing time yesterday and never felt rushed out at all. My daughter is obsessed with the truffles--she orders four every time! They even have a deal for four truffles and a calamansi juice for around $21, which was kindly offered to us (though she declined). I appreciate that they share those deals since we wouldn't have known otherwise. We've been here several times and have tried the Thai Tea Shake, Upside Down Halo Halo, and Ube Cheesecake Bar. My personal favorite is the Upside Down Halo Halo--it's made with real ube ice cream blended into a creamy milkshake texture, with toppings at the bottom, vanilla ice cream on top, and even a bite-sized leche flan. It does get busy, which speaks to how good the food, drinks, and service are. This has become one of our go-to dessert spots, especially when my parents are visiting and craving a sweet treat. The convenient location with plenty of parking, plus the option for easy online ordering, makes it even better.
It's an ube (purple yam) specialty store, how can one go wrong? They have ube-leche flan (custard) cupcake which is an ube cupcake topped with creamy flan. There's also the ube truffle which is a ball of goodness. I don't particularly like cheesecakes because of its consistency and how dense some of them are. But the ube cheesecake they have is light. If you're a sweet tooth, you should try this one!
For all ube indigence, Cafe 86 is absolutely the place to be. I am glad that we finally have one here right close to home. No more travelling to Union City, Chino Hills and even Las Vegas for that matter. Ube Crack Cheese is where its at for me, decadent, rich, delicious. My daughter on the other hand loves their Ube Leche Flan. Do do not forget their Ube Truffles also. Pretty much everything is yummy at Cafe 86. I also like that they themed their store around the venerable AE86 Trueno, I swear one time I will roll into the store with my own 86. True that the prices at Cafe 86 can be a little steep. But indulging on their wonderful ube pastries once in a while is a money very well spent.
So awesome to have a Cafe 86 here in Antioch! I love the merge of new Asian/Pacific Island restaurants opening here in the area. First Jollibee and now Cafe 86! This location is pretty big with a good amount of lounge seating. They have every item stocked and the two employees work quick and efficient. I ordered a halo-halo and it got made within minutes and it also came out perfect! I can't wait to come back and try more. The addition of a Filipino bakery/tea house is exactly what we needed in the city. It provides more flavor and options for everyone.
If you love ube, you will love this place. The menu has ube unique desserts. They are all delicious! The desserts have just the right amount of sweetness
Upside Down Halo Halo - loved the ube milk used as the base of this dessert, and the ube ice cream was nice too. The jelly wasn't mind blowing and neither was the jackfruit slices, which were so few and little. It could use a bit more toppings. Other than that, it was pretty good. $10. Ube Crack Cheesecake - flavor was good, the ube flavor came through and the cream cheese flavor also came through. The bottom crust was a bit too thick in my opinion but also had a good flavor. But man, the size was super tiny for $5. Therefore I don't think it was a good value. Ube Butter Bar - I had high hopes but the butter bar we got, while the overall flavor was pretty good, tasted like it'd been in a fridge for a long time. It didn't taste fresh at all. I was super disappointed. Not worth $5.
Ube paradise. The up-side-down halo halo is a must-try. It is highly recommended to visit this place. The hype is definitely worth it. The service was top-notch. The staff was fast and very knowledgeable about the menu. If you want to hang out with friends or go on a date, this is a great place to go. Show your support for your local businesses. Their Ube pop tarts are a must-try. I will definitely come back to try other menu items.
I've always heard raves about Cafe 86's halo halo from co-workers and I'm glad that they finally opened up a spot in Antioch. Their upside down halo-halo is so refreshing especially during the scorching heat of our summers. I love their shaved ice and the cereals adds more crunch to it, I do hope that they offer the option of adding the traditional sweet mung beans. We have mostly tried their pastries on different occassions: from ube leche flan cupcakes, ube bars, ube tres leches, ube cheesecake and my new favorite, the ube truffles. They are rich and so yummy! The only setback is the price, as we volunteered to bring their desserts to a potluck of close to 40 people and shelled out a whooping $190 for them. Was it worth the blood sugar spike? Definitely yes! But we'll just be more careful to bring it for a smaller group next time. Other than that, the place is clean, the staff are friendly and there's always ample parking.

The decor is fun, trendy and very clean! The staff if very nice and friendly. I finally came to this location; it was just as good as I remembered! The Upside Down Halo Halo is my go-to drink! One regular is big enough to share with one more person. It comes with an Ube base blend, Coconut Jellies, Jack Fruit, Boba, Frosted Flakes, Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream and Flan. It is the perfect mix!!!! It is also not too sweet and very refreshing! They also have many other Ube desserts! Next time I'll probably share the upside-down halo halo to try other desserts. Give this place a try! You won't regret it.
Great upside down halo halo! A regular size can be shared between 2 people. Dessert wasn't too sweet and refreshing on a hot day. Lots of parking outside and cozy indoor seating. If you love ube this is your place to visit! Did not have to wait too long for our desserts either!
If you are an Ube lover you got to try this cafe out I can't remember the names of what we order but see the pictures lol everything was good, the employee was super friendly, and patient . There's parking right infront and is a nice place to hang out. Just know that the GPS send me behind the place so I had a walk around the corner to get to it.

Ube hates to see me coming - I'm devouring any Ube anytime I see it. I stopped by real quick just for a beverage. It was a quick and easy process, great service! I got an Iced Ube Latte & it did not stand a chance against me. I fell in love at the first sip. It wasn't overpowering with sweetness, just right, however, the Ube flavor was definitely present! And the Ube tasted REAL, not the artificial stuff (not sure if it was artificial or not, and if it was artificially flavored, they did amazing). I can't wait to be back to try their pastries/sweets. Unfortunately I came near to closing, so of course they were out of pastries -- my fault. read more

good drinks. a little pricey for a smoothie but i would still come back and get it again. ube monster was good. not too sweet. reminded me of the ube ice cream sold in my province in the philippines. strawberry calamansi was also good, not too sour nor sweet. very refreshing. ube leche flan cupcake. flan was a bit tougher than creamy. otherwise it waa a good cupcake read more

Love Cafe 86! If you're looking for an Ube fix, this is your place to get it. They've got a good selection of unique pastries and drinks. One of their popular drinks is the upside down halo halo. Can't go wrong with this. I tried their mais con yelo which has sweet corn, milk, cornflakes, and Ube ice cream. They also have sandwiches which I'd love to try next time. The owners and staff were super friendly and welcoming. Great place to hang out and have a delicious treat. read more

I'm so happy that a Cafe 86 has a location as well here. Union city is a drive and even more so with the traffic that has built up in the Bay Area lately. Busy area but parking is available around many other places right off the freeway. I had tried the upside down halo halo so now it's time to try the halo halo. It is different than most known halo halo and more like a drink with boba but it was still tasty. I had already pulled up to park but an on coming car was coming so I waited and he parked right where I was gonna park but good thing there was 2 spaces. They went in before me and ordered but after I ordered and waited my name was called first it seemed. Pretty much we ordered the same thing and it was both ready at the same time. There are tables to enjoy their treats and it's pretty chill...we hung out a bit but headed out soon after a few sips. I enjoyed the drink at home watching a movie. Definitely would suggest desserts here and I plan to try more items on the menu next time. read more

Hours says open until 8pm and it's only 6:37pm. Literally saw lights on inside as I was pulling up. Then suddenly turned off when I parked and see people inside. They need to update hours on yelp/online if they close earlier than advertised. I should've went to T4 first smh. read more
I liked this. I typically find ube flavored things in the United States to be as flaccid and disappointing as my romance life but I thought the halo halo here was shockingly good. The ube monster shake was also great and the Oreo crumbles were a nice addition. This place I think is still new - they still had what looked like their grand opening balloons up when I came here. They didn't seem to have the growing pains of some other new businesses in the area that I won't name. Line was decently long but it moved fast and I didn't have to wait as long as I thought I would for my order at all. If there was one thing I could complain about, it's that they didn't accept cash for some weird reason and I was forced to use my credit card. Not sure if that's gonna be a thing going forward. I'm sure most people won't care about a business being card only but I would find it very unfortunate if it was. But it's not enough of a reason to be petty and knock off a star. What matters is that my order was good. read more

Cafe 86 in Antioch just opened this month and I had to go in and see what they had. I didn't ask but if I had this guess this is probably a Filipino owned café. I am assuming of course because of what they're serving. If you love Ube this is your spot. They've got blended drinks and pastry items. Ube halo halo, Ube cheesecake, Ube Butter Bar, Ube Tres Leches and more! So bring it my first time I tried each dessert. I loved everything. Even though all items were Ube themed, you can still distinguish each dessert separately. My favorite of all I think is the Ube Crack Cheesecake. I love the richness is balance with the almond topping, I think it goes well together. And the size is perfect. Price: I think they priced the items well considering the size. It's not too pricey. Ambiance: it cute! It's not too big. Love toy collection decor (though I thought they were for sale, but it's not)! The line: there were only three people ahead of me but it was still a bit of wait. I was surprised considering how many people were working there. But, I think it was because people were ordering a lot. I only noticed on register as well. But overall experience was good! Such a cute and cozy little spot. I stopped by yesterday. The lady is very nice and personable. I ordered the hibiscus calamansi tea and Ube flan cupcake. The hibiscus drink was very vibrant, refreshing and I liked that it was not sweet. The Ube flan was yummy. I loved how inviting the inside of this shop was. read more

Wanted to come here because we were in the area and didnt know anywhere else to go lol. They have a pretty big menu and a bigg variety of stuff to buy from drinks and little sweets. We jus got the upside down halohalo, total after everything was over 10$. It was really good tbh, the ube base was really good and thick and a decent amount of toppings. I would say most of their stuff is pretty expensive especially their sweets lol, its like 4-5$ for a small thing but im sure it tastes good. Would come back to try more stuff read more

I ordered from this spot via doordash. I had the turkey pesto which honestly it was not as delicious as i thought it would. I love a good turkey pesto on panini breAd, but this was just too greasy and i could barely taste the pesto. I also had the sea salt iced coffee which was pretty delicious! read more

I came to the grand opening on 4/6 to support this locally owned Filipino cafe that's also car related! They have a plethora of baked ube goods, and other drink items for those who aren't a fan of ube. I tried their mini Halo Halo and it looked and tasted amazing. The staff is super sweet and quick; I would definitely recommend this cafe for dessert or a quick snack! read more
Located in a shopping center right off the freeway with a lot of parking (electric parking close by also). Came in on a Wednesday evening while it was warm out and it was super busy. There were a couple tables, a couch/lounge area and some bar seating. Workers were very kind and service was quick. Upside down halo-halo, various jellies and boba at the bottom. Vanilla ice cream, flan and cornflakes on top. Middle was blended ube. Really refreshing and would get again 10/10 Ube cheesecake - ube flavor in the cheesecake was perfect, not overbearing or too much and not too sweet. I also liked how thick/the consistency of the cheesecake. The crinkles on top were also a nice add 10/10 Overall, would recommend this Filipino dessert place and would come again. read more

I came to Cafe 86 and ordered an Iced Ube latte with oat milk. It has no caffeine and was really yummy. I also got a caramel latte and an ube flan cup cake that did not disappoint. They have little board games and activities to entertain yourself with. Very comfy vibes! read more
