We were lured into this place based on the top reviews, and decided to have dinner there as well as check out the bakery. The bread offering where good, and the bread was actually good. It felt fresh, and not overly sweet. The food, however, was more than a disappointment. Starting with the (sold separately) chips and guac, none of then had an ounce of salt. Yeah, they chips were warm and probably made in house, but had no flavor. And the guac was also old- you could taste the staleness on it. The meat on the tacos was appalling. Just dry, overcooked, shady meat that did not resemble traditional flank steak at all, or anything close to it. Had to add a bit of line and salsa to make it passable. The torta I had was dry- just the meat, shredded lettuce and pico de gallo in it- no cheese, or sliced tomato to give some balance to the thing. So, go for the bread, but then leave. read more

I ordered a dozen chicken tamales and a dozen pork tamales at the last minute for Xmas Eve. They were very accommodating and it was no bother st all. I picked them up that morning and they were still hot. They were delicious. The masa was soft and yummy - con tanto sabor, and I also got my pan dulce there. The pan is out of this world. The flavors are wonderful, especially guayabana. I bought a big box, and all was eaten except for six pan dulce. I highly recommend this bakery. I definitely will keep coming back. Let me say this, I am not from here. I came across this bakery by being in the area conducting business. I wanted something to eat and went on yelp to find something in the area. I saw the reviews and decided to try it out. My favorite pan dulce are the orejas. I am from San Diego and having Tijuana practically in my backyard, I don't need to be writing this long review but I did because I got familiar taste to my buds from when I was traveling in Mexico and was in Puebla. Although this is a bakery from Jalisco, they know what they are doing. My first bite into this beautiful Pastry, I said to myself, "A, La, Verrga" 5 STARS. I hope all negative reviews are reevaluated with the fact that quality in a craftsmanship goes a long way and not everyone deserves this majestic treat. It's been difficult adjusting to life now that I'm not 10 minutes away from my favorite panaderia. I used to go here weekly and now that I'm about a 40 minute drive away I'm always trying to make a detour when I'm out that way. I've yet to find one just as good or with the same wide variety of goodies. Everything else I've had is always so dry or lacking in the flavor and freshness they provide. And they are ALWAYS pumping it out fresh! Those ovens are running non stop and they are turning out the most beautiful and tasty treats until the sun sets! It's always been such a warm and friendly experience too. I really miss this place and the personable gals working. I'm surprised I didn't know about this place sooner. The conchas are super soft and I've even bought them at various times of the day. There's a lot to choose from and they're open early. Seems a lot of people place custom orders. A little bit hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for but it is in the small plaza next to Mi Tierra. read more

This is hands down some of the best pan dulce I've had this side of Mexico!! I came here on a recommendation since I'm not from the area, and you'll miss it so keep eyes open (across the way from mi Tierra in a tiny shopping center), and you can smell the bread being baked it's insane!!! Walked in to empty cases so I was like what? And then was instructed to walk to the back where all the delicious magic happen, and there are rows upon rows of delicious fresh baked bread so much it's hard to not take everything! I took a ton like $20 dollars worth for the trip back home and then was thinking I can't eat all this bread and it's not going to be fresh long (because other pan dulce gets old quick) but to my surprise 5 days into it the bread is not only fresh but tastes delicious!! Must try if you are in the area and if you live in the area and haven't been here then what you're waiting for I don't know!! Love coming here. It smells like fresh bread/pastries when you walk in. Some of the pastries get changed up so you won't always see the same pastries on your visits but they're still good. I think it's kind of unique and exciting to see different pastries every time I visit. read more

If you just want to walk in to buy bread go for it, their bread is really good. But don't bother placing an order ahead of time. This past Dia de Muertos I ordered bread, was there by 11am which was my pick up time and bread wasn't ready, they said I could come back at 3pm. One of their panaderos called out sick so they were behind which I understand BUT they could have called me to let me know it wasn't going to be ready by 11am. Now for Dia de Reyes which was on a Saturday, I called the Thursday before and said, hey I know you guys will be busy for Saturday but can you take an order for 100 mini breads? And the owner said, yes we'll be busy but we'll make your bread, again I said I would pick it up at 11am. Saturday I show up, I say I have an order to pick up and the girl at the counter just says okay, doesn't check on my order, I step back to wait patiently because I know they are busy, while I'm waiting a lady comes in and asks to talk to the owner, lady is upset that they canceled a Birthday cake last minute and the owner just said we're really busy we called to let you know, with attitude, horrible customer service talking to her like if he's doing her a favor. So I immediately think, crap my bread is not going to be ready and sure enough, after waiting the girl at the counter finally said sorry your bread is not ready. They are not newbies, if they know they can't handle so many orders then don't take them. I had to scramble to find bread elsewhere, I had ordered it for my Mom's birthday party. Wow! I was recommended here by two people. It's a little tiny place easy to miss so keep your eyes open. It's right at a corner of a small shopping center. There only a small parking lot but you can park on the street. Omg you can smell this place from the parking lot. They have a good selection of Mexican bread and it seems they bake 2-3 batches a day so super fresh. The taste is definitely on point. Now I come here twice a week to get fresh bread. The only down side is they only take cash. Definitely worth it taste is amazing highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

Love their pan but getting your rosca de reyes there is ridiculous even if you order ahead of time it's happened to me 2 years in a row I don't even know why I ordered it here again I ordered it to be picked up at 6pm today 01/6/17 i ordered a week ago & Lo show up at 6:30 only to find out it will take an hour to be ready I wait an hour and nothing so an hour and a half goes by and I ask if it will almost be ready and they tell me not until another hour, they won't start making it until you show up to pick up with your receipt! Even if you payed ahead! mind you the bakery is full of people who orderer ahead most are asking for their money back! Worse part is the people who work there including owners are being absolutely rude about it as if it was our fault that our orders are not ready!
